  1. Dear all, I am just starting a fish farm in Saraburi and would very much like to attend the meeting with you guys. I will be there for the whole package. I would also like to sponsor with two cases of beer. It will be only me coming to the meeting. I will book a room at the resort. Looking forward to seeing you all.

    Ah more beer sponsors thumbsup.gifburp.giflicklips.gifbiggrin.png

  2. Bergen?

I'll check it out when I next go to Ubon, Patriot, unless Bergen fills us in meanwhile. Seems likely I just remembered wrongly, since View is the common word in your, and in my recollection of, title. Apologies for the misinfo.

If the restaurant was an open sided square one raised up above the car park road level on the right at the river's edge as you go down a soi from the ring road and there is a car park on the left hand side of the soi at the rivers edge .... then you hit the right spot.

Yes you're right Patriot, the name is View Moon. Just had the nambatr translated by my wife. Cheers! smile.png

  3. I suspect we will do a run in Meuang SiSaket sometime this year Sirchai, so maybe you can give the joints a try then. We normally run only on a Saturday afternoon, usually first Saturday of the month. There are a few Sisaket hashers lurking around in the undergrowth who keep threatening to join in and I know that Frank will be happy to have us back at LITP.

Good to see you back from Oz, Sandgroper. You've chosen a good run to return on - nice trail with a fair bit of off road (Jay might even get lost if he's unlucky) and an interesting pottery village plus loads of river views of the mighty Mun River that you don't normally see.

I suspect Sandgroper won't see much, he'll just be heading to the BS ASAP......................... burp.giflaugh.png

  4. If there's a lack of volunteers, I'll throw my name in as a possible April host.

We had a meeting at our farm Suan Loong Daeng in February 2012, and since then we've done a lot of upgrading.

For those who have not been here, some of what can be seen at the farm are Rubber trees, Cashew nuts, Cassava, Tamarind, Rambutan, lamyai, bananas, Durian, Jackfruit, Green peppers, Mangosteen, Pappaya, Mango, and lots of other fruits, herbs, and spices.

I addition to farming we are doing a lot of gardening, and also have a flower shop. We have a newly rebuilt restaurant, restrooms and bar with pool table, and if the heat is on in April, it's possible to take a dip in our swimming pool................... smile.png

  5. Hey burgan do you know any hotels close to nam yuen?

There is a wonderful Farmstay about 13km west of Nam Yuen, called the Suan Loong Daeng. Very friendly staff, good food and clean chalet rooms for about 500 baht. Definitely the place to stay if passing through. They have their own website.

Agreed! Best place to stay! thumbsup.gifbiggrin.png

  6. Sabiang restaurant opened last month on its new location on the "Hat Ku Dua" rd. It's the first restaurant on the left hand side, when driving in from the ring rd,

To be more spesific, when driving the ring road from Global to Central, turn left after the bridge and you'll find it on the river side after a few hundred meters. Good food, cold beer, and the owner (from Kuala Lumpur). speaks English..............smile.png

  7. I think a foot bridge across is a good idea. Have a beer garden/restaurant made in the middle and it'll be great, just since today it is a lack of such venues..................... biggrin.png

  8. Thanks ! for the reply and information SantiSuk..much appreciated. Thanks! also for the offer thumbsup.gif

I live up in Yasothon so I imagine like yourself I will probably visit every other weekend providing I'm not busy or elsewhere. I prefer to watch football in company with a beer rather than cooped up in an hotel. I don't mind so much if the commentary isn't in English (nice if can get it though).....I've grown used to that :-). Unlike your team, who I'm sure you'll be pleased with at the moment, my team are wallowing away in the nether regions of League 1 so I'm happy watching any EPL game really.

Wrongway "Cafe" - Padaeng rd is the place for football and beer!

    Cheers! smile.png

  10. went there early September and could only view the temple at the distance.

Not allowed to take photos up at the edge of the of the military post, but if you drop a few baht in the donation box you'll be invited to snap your pictures.

The Cliff tops were still great and the coolest place with a lovely breeze that I found nowhere else.

One tout was renting binoculars but there were adjustable and a refund had to be sought.

A very short man was offering photos, taken and printed. this was a great service has we had family with us that we wanted to give some photos to.

As for getting through to Cambodia, we were told by thai military no Thai can cross but maybe farang could try, as Cambodia may be willing to accept.

I didn't try as with Laos border its cost prohibitive just for the exercise.

I would like to use this crossing for a trip to Siam rep but maybe the one at surin/ sisaket will be better roads,

You CANNOTt cross the border for heading to Siam Reap! There are - and has never been an immigration border crossing here, and as said in earlier posts, for visiting Khao Phra Viharn, the border has been closed for more than 5 years!!! coffee1.gif

  11. My favourite time of the year is coming up! biggrin.png

Do you have an electric water heater in your bathroom? I have visited Si Saket many times during November December January and

I love the fresh air in the evening in the morning time but I hated having to take a cold shower involving the ladling bowls of water

Lightning killed my water heater nine years ago. New ones are bought , but yet not installed,so until then, I've made it a habit to shower in the afternoon, and not in the bl@ddy freezing mornings............. biggrin.png
