  1. Has been this bad for years now news coverage is finally showing many obnoxious foreign tourists and expats. Was barely here three days in 2001 first time on Samui and was so disgusted how many foreigners treated the Thais badly, that I decided to teach myself enough Thai to avoid the far to common freak shows. I prefer peace and quiet in Nakhon Nowhere.
  2. Mendicino by the sea miss that place would often hitch-hike up and down the coast from Washington and spend a few nights there camping out. Uncommon Good Cafe where all the hippies would hang out.
  3. I have a friend in the states that has been a pot flusher for years even when it was legal. He buys some smokes it could be days hours or minutes and he has the urge to flush before he changes his mind. Of course by the next day regrets it and buys some more. Told him numerous times to give it to a friend and he makes a run for the toilet just can,t control the urge. Likely has flushed pounds over the years ! Next time take a deep breath before you flush.
  4. And then I would ask the police officer to please show me the regulations as I have often done in the states. 99.9% of the time I was correct and they walked away pissed they could not touch me. The first person that gets grabbed will make national headlines I sure. Always good to have a boogie man for a good distraction.
  5. I understand your point of view and why you purchased the card. Here is a different opinion. A quote from Ben the lawyer in Bangkok. When cannabis was legalized the doctrine of codification kicked back in to protect Thai liberties thereby requiring a LAW BE PASSED to allow for curtailment of said liberty and/or regulation thereof. Politicians approximately 18 months ago acknowledged that fact and said they were going to pass a law through Parliament. They never did and now this Public Health Ministry want us all to believe they can dictate the terms of cannabis usage through arbitrary and capricious "announcements". I expect there will be serious challenges to all of this in the Administrative courts at the very least. --BWH
  6. Agree, more Reefer Madness. The government and the media seem desperate to create more drama and much to do about nothing to back up their (Announcements aka so called laws) . Remember when they were seizing land and boats in America if they caught you with a joint? People getting raided at home and shot dead with a tv remote in hand? Former C.I.A clown Bushes grand ideas. Now that I have taken a hit to calm down I am having ideas of running outside naked.
  7. Does anyone remember a old American Wendy's commercial "Where's the beef?" Until then..........

  8. Cannabis Is Not Cash and Announcements Are Not Laws?
  9. Hua Hin is the only city near me at the moment that has foreigners. In the north far far from any big foreigner towns. Going to be a pain if a person has to make a monthly trip of hundreds of miles.
  10. It would be so nice and handy if the government would provide a list of shops they consider legal. Maybe a nice monthly news letter on current rules up to date by the hour as they seem unable to make up their minds. Making everyone a criminal over night.
  11. I would not worry to much about it right now. Things are changing by the day or hour at times. Everyone both foreign and Thai notices the government is famous for flip/flop creating their own problems. They create the problems not the general public.
  12. Noticed more than a few Euro idiots with Thai rentals by their side smoking right outside in public. It always tend to be the idiot obnoxious foreigners both tourist and expat that cause rules and laws to suddenly change and those that try to live here in harmony and just want to be left alone suffer. One reason I tend to avoid groups of foreigners only a matter of time before one of them gets YOU into trouble often drunk.
  13. The dumb parents are responsible for leaving the candy out and likely other harmful things for kids. Just contacted a big store in Bangkok who said no card of any sort was needed. No mention of I.D or medical card.
  14. Many of these resent stories about ganja by the Thai media I have serious doubts about. Reminds me so much of the same garbage we heard back in the 60,s ,70,s, 80's . Remember well watching the F.B.I. on tv as a kid they had an episode about smoking weed and dying babies in the bathtub. The Thai government just made it much more easy to buy and drink booze while at the same time attacking those who smoke week. How odd to all happen at the same time. More and more convinced Thaksin is behind all of this Reefer Madness. This has nothing to do with safety its all politics and games. What a farce! In the meanwhile I am going to ........................
  15. Is there going to be a full list of places to get these cards ? Or do I travel hundreds of miles to search everywhere to find one ?
  16. Monopolized is the key word here . Rub out all the smaller farmers and shops first . So I have to travel hundreds of miles to get a card so I can smoke ? Is there going to be a card for booze and cigarettes also ?
  17. Not going to worry about it right now since everything is still very much in the air. My hunch is once you know who is tossed out everything will be as before. What if you live in Nakhon Nowhere and have to travel all the day just to buy some?
  18. Would rather die than ever set foot on Samui. BORING!
  19. More than a few contradictions meaning their new rules are void, meaningless.
  20. So the new rules NOT LAWS suddenly got changed again with no warning. So anyone without their papers in order is suddenly a criminal over night.
  21. O Yea, I can believe it. These squares need to light up and watch The Big Lebowski and learn something from the dude. I thought he was so sick in the hospital he had all those dodgy doctor reports yet by miracle seems to be fine wandering around here and there and Cambodia. Will these be the same doctors used in these new fantasy shops? While the police tract down every last user without papers. Smoke and mirrors and show nothing more. Like the new helmet laws. O The Big Lebowski
  22. This is nothing more than political revenge from Thaksin and his clan angry because he got caught breaking the law , makes a run for the Cambodia border and escapes allowed to return and cause problems for all the poor people he claims he loves so much. Now we are all suddenly criminals over night because one guy not the parliament decided he can do whatever he wants. This entire story stinks and its not the weed . As soon as daughter is tossed out of office and she and daddy leave my hunch is so called Health Minister is gone also.
  23. Sorry I don,t take this Dr. Anti-Weed guy very seriously . Does that government plan to compensate for all the money lost from the shops and growers? Lawsuit time! compensate
  24. So we have been made all criminals over night without papers ? Because HE says so ? 5555 ! August ? He will be gone by then.
  25. Everywhere I have checked same before . All smoke and mirrors and games nothing more. Anyone notice how quiet things are in Bangkok lately ? Something is up and my hunch is they will all be politely asked to leave Thai style. Every time a certain somebody gets his dirty hands the government comes to a halt. Just make a lot of noise , make up your phony forms and scare everyone. In the last week alone in my small town four big ordinary stores have left not weed shops. Now the plan is to close thousands more?
