Seems dongle/SIM connects to True mobile?
You want to send "#123"?
Isn't it "#123#"?
Yes I'm trying to use True.
That was just a typo on here. I was sending the correct code when I tried.

I'm trying to use a Huawei E3276S dongle with a GL-MT300N V2 router. The connection to the network was straightforward enough and it's working well.
What I'm trying to do is work out how to send USSD codes through the router interface to check balance and buy one off internet packages.
The limited research I've done suggests AT+CUSD=1, "#123",15 should work but it errors out with +CM# ERROR: UNKOWN
Any ideas or suggestions of another way to do what I want with swapping the SIM between the dongle and a phone?
Thanks

The ping was to a random server on a speed test site. It was just a test of general connectivity and speeds the UK.
Obviously it means nothing in terms of connecting to the server that hosts the stream, so I may try and figure out a way of doing that.
VOD from the site streams perfectly but that's a different animal with prebuffering and all that.
Anyway, the consensus seems to be that the ping is not "bad"; so, I think the questions has been answered.

Please cease and desist responding that it is MY fault for not following YOUR instructions.
Sorry, but your own descriptions of what is happening prove that to be the case.

Took me a while to find a name that is really located in the UK (plausible result).
(some German un the log should be manageable)
194 ms.
Now the question is: is the streaming provider aware that you are in Thailand?
Or do they expect low ping times like domestic UK?
It's an (official) sports streaming service for international subscribers only - so they should be aware that I'm not in the UK at the very least.

I have a 40 Mbps (single thread) speed test to the UK with a ping of 200 ms. A stream provider is trying to tell me the ping is too high. I think the ping time is OK and actually quite good.
What are other people getting?
Thanks,
JM

Turn the main power off at the breaker for 10-15 minutes and try again if changing the batteries in the remote doesn't work.

The modem I am using is a D-Link DIR-809
I think this is your issue.
According to the specs here, it supports "fast ethernet" which (usually) means 100 Mbps. You need to replace this unit with a better one.

I see no one has yet mentioned the issue of graphics card availability. The OP has mentioned that the machine would be used for games. The question is which games. Would they be playable on integrated graphics — let's say no to that. Right now, jib.co.th is showing very few graphic card options (Advice not much better); so, would a GT 1030 cut it? Maybe, with low expectations.
To get something "decent" he's going to paying a premium, even for a used card.

Yes, I think the Mango will certainly have its uses, the main one being in a hotel that needs a user name and password to log in to Wifi. From what I've seen on Youtube, this will be one thing that I'll use it for. The router will log in and then connect multiple devices to the Mango — allowing some isolation from the hotel network at some time. The speeds without VPN are actually OK.
I'd actually already ordered a second router to run the VPN before posting my update but thanks for the offer.

Got it working — was me being a dimwit and using an old password.
Got to say I'm quite happy with it now. Watching some UK ok Netflix on my smart TV right now. Next test will be iPlayer etc.
An update after a week or so of use.
It just about works, but not quite. When I can get it working it's good but not fantastic, but there are a few issues.
1. It's very finicky trying to get it to actually connect to my VPN - I can connect to the same servers using Open VPN client on my PC OK.
2. VPN speed is not quite there, it seems to average at about 3-5 Mbps which kind of works, It's OK for most on-demand stuff but live TV seems to have a few glitches.
3. When it does fail to connect to a VPN it can sometimes tie itself up in a few knots meaning I had to reset it.
Overall, it's still a pass and the main lesson for me would be that when it's working, don't try muck around with it.

What is between the two houses?
Is running an ethernet cable between them and setting up an access point in the 2nd house an option?
-
The great thing about the 1st one is that it is really compact. It's about 2 in x 2 in and about 1 inch tall. Runs off 5V USB power. Mine didn't actually come with a power adapter, just a cable, but an old phone charger should do it.

Just for fun, I just ordered one of these today - https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-mt300n-v2/ 500B on AliExpress.
You could route your traffic in a normal way and then connect your kit to the mini router to route via your VPN,, I think pi-vpn will do a same job but this little box looked cool.
What do you want to run through the VPN? Laptop or TV box - if you don’t require a networkwide VPN, you can use a software client like viscosity.
Did you have any luck with this?
I ordered also ordered one to have a play with. I'm having some teething trouble to get it to connect to my VPN using the Open VPN protocol, I've download the Open VPN config files from the website but I can't get it to connect.

What about Scottish premier league matches?
On BEIN sports.
The main channels carry the occasional "big" games. Most of them are on the Xtra channels which are Internet only, through the website or apps on phones/smart TVs.

We are a little handicapped as we have a Samsung tizen OS TV which doesn’t really have a great deal of apps, and an Amazon fireTV stick, which is Android with no playstore.
I have a Samsung Tizen TV (about 3 years old, I think). There is an AIS Play app available for it, My Mrs. uses it all the time. I'm also paying the little bit extra to get BEIN Sports and the Nat Geo channels.

I might be interested in trying this for the purposes of setting up a VPN on the router (mainly to bypass geo-restictions for streaming).
Do (any) routers that support VPNs allow for specific IPs/domains to go through the VPN and other traffic to be routed normally?

I have just signed up with Transferwise as I'm fed up paying Nationwide everytime I send money to Thailand.
They have asked for the sister in laws home address with the bank details.
It seems that each way I try to write it in English they bounce the money back.
Is there anyone here that can translate for me in the way I will need to write it for Transferwise so that TMB don't bounce it back?
The address is -

The 139 looks a bit unusual. I would normally expect 2 numbers separated by a slash. 139/xx or xx/139 - maybe double check this number?

I was told that the BIOS battery is only there to help save any changes you make to the BIOS. You can revert to original settings if the attery goes flat.
It also saves other things such as the date and time so it can be a pain if you have to constantly reset these,

The headline says an i7-3250M which is an 8 year old CPU
In the detailed description it says i7-620M which is even older,
That discrepancy alone is enough of a red flag for me.

I've never heard of Windows 10s. Is it a lite version of Windows 10? Woulds it be better to run Windows 10s on old hardware with slower processors?
Windows 10S is a locked-down version of the OS that only allows apps to be installed from the Microsoft Store. S mode can be turned off but not back on again.
As for the question about performance on older, less powerful hardware, I don't know if it performs better or not, sorry.
