  1. It certainly looks like they provide other services for a feeD.
  2. Exactly. As usual poor reporting leaves us with more questions than answers.
  3. Not many Christians in Islamic Schools in the Middle East, but there are Christian Schools. Thailand constitutionally guarantees religious freedom, prohibiting discrimination based on belief, and recognizes Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and Sikhism. While Buddhism is promoted, the constitution doesn't designate a state religion, and the exercise of religious freedom is protected as long as it doesn't harm state security. Either way, its 2025 and humans no longer need to be scared of the unknown, we no longer need to attribute storms, disease, famine etc to a god figure. Religion should be wiped from society.
  4. Good. Stop brainwashing children to believe in nonsense.
  5. A friend of mine, aged about 42, had the lenses in her eyes replaced instead of having lasik. She now has perfect vision. She did not have cataracts but the doctor in Hong Kong said lens replacement would be a better option for her.
  6. I was headhunted from Hong Kong. I grew up in Asia so Asian girls are not that appealing to me, unless they are very well educated, speak perfect English (and their family all speak English, you can't marry someone if you can't enjoy good conversations with her parents). I definitely did not come here for the girls. At least in Hong Kong the girls you meet don't have dirt poor family waiting for them to marry a Western guy. Not sure why people care about temples. Seen one you've seen all of them. Besides why support the stupidity of religion.
  7. But you said hot. She doesn't look even slightly hot, unless you mean she's sweating under that uniform.
  8. I didn't realise Bob was a black man. And why doesn't the description mention his skin colour, when the video clearly shows a black man?
  9. I've lived in and traveled around Asia for over 50 years. What I've never been able to understand is why the people who live in these shacks turn the entire area around their homes into disgusting dumps. Doesn't matter where you go, if people are living in shacks, the area around them is just littered with garbage. Often so much so that plants stop growing. If they had any dignity wouldn't it make sense to keep the area outside their homes clean?
  10. Good job they never went near South Korea then. Narita is in Japan.
  11. I was paying 1682.24 THB for 6 months of unlimited data at 6Mbps AIS does one year data sims and I think I'll upgrade to the top package at 2750.00 THB
  12. One of my friends married Ania Kubow and they've had a baby together. To say I'm a bit jealous of him is an understatement! If I saw one of the YouTubers I follow, I'd give them a nod to acknowledge I recognise them but wouldn't go over and bother them. It would be good to meet them though in the right circumstances. However, If I was a famous YouTuber and I saw someone who was perhaps a fan, I'd probably wave for them to come over, unless I was actually filming at the time. I know a lot of people making YouTube videos, a few are starting to become reasonably well known each with upwards of 50K followers.
  13. It won't save us from his ongoing nonsense because this forum doesn't restrict people from outside of Thailand pontificating on life here.
  14. Radio waves were discovered in the early 1800's. That's well over 200 years ago. Science has shown that straight line speed is limited to a value below that of lightspeed, unless you are made of light which only light is. Theoretical ideas such as folding space time are unlikely to ever result in a method of transportation, the same as wormholes or other ideas. The issue people fail to grasp when talking about ultra fast travel is how do you scan ahead to identify if there are going to be any object in your path? At those speeds you can't turn and you can't stop. Stopping requires that you slow down enough to be able to stop, otherwise you get flattened as if you've hit a brick wall at speed, by the sudden stop. The act of slowing from a theoretical speed just below LS would add potentially hundred or even thousand of years to the journey. 10 light years at lightspeed takes, 10 years..... but you can't go from zero to LS and back to zero, and even if you could any amount of time required to accelerate and decelerate increases those 10 years significantly. Science fiction movies and stories are just that, fiction.
  15. Possibly because the 'victims' did something to provoke the argument that escalated into violence. The 'attacker' was a British man, not a Thai. I suspect a lot of arguing and stubbornness on the part of the victim is what led to it turning violent. My understanding is the couple bought a space in the retirement home but were not told that if other homes were built that part of 'their' plot would be taken to provide access to the other home(s). Although as usual reporting here is so bad the real story is hard to find.
  16. The person that attacked them was another BRITISH man, who happened to have a Thai wife.
  17. Yes, but you CAN buy a house in a retirement community on land owned by the company running the community. That is apparently what they did and that is what they are selling.
  18. No mention if the kid was wearing a helmet or why the kid was eating while on the bike, which means they only had one hand holding onto the bike or whoever was driving it. Idiots. I saw a Thai guy on a bike get killed today outside my condo on Suk. No helmet, it had just started to lightly rain so I guess the road was extra slippery with water and oil. Ambulance crew couldn't do anything.......
  19. Humans study slime molds, not to take their tech (which they don't have), but to learn more about ourselves and the things around us. No reason why super advanced aliens wouldn't want to check us out for similar reasons. Although, personally I don't believe that any alien life has been visiting us, the distances they would need to travel are just too vast even at near light-speed. What you see in movies etc is entertainment, whereas what science says is fact, and interstellar travel is just not practical.
  20. Utter nonsense. When will humans stop believing this rubbish.
  21. Maybe also Ukrainian, Belarussian, Kazakhstani, etc. Or maybe not. I know a 100% English guy called Sascha.
  22. Looking at his mum's Facebook page it appears she's Thai. Hope he turns up and is ok.
  23. It seems they purchased a house in a 'retirement' community. The Thai court system, follows the rule of law. They don't automatically side with Thais, the court will look at all aspects and I'd be very surprised if the Thais don't end up paying. The Thais filing a counter claim is a delaying tactic and the Judges will see that. From the article “We rented at first then spent around £200,000 on a villa in a new retirement complex. We were so happy.” But their dream life turned sour after returning from a shopping trip to find developers undergoing building work on their property. And their neighbours said they now owned the access road to it. A row broke out and the Byrnes managed to stop the development on their land for three months after hiring a lawyer and discovering the local residents had no legal right to muscle in on their home.
  24. Yeah bunch of conspiracy theorists. Why people don't believe Epstein and now this guy killed themselves is beyond me. In their positions the only thing I'd be doing is figuring out how to end my life as quickly as possible.
