Cardiologist with focus on preventative care
jas007 replied to voyagerUSA's topic in Health and Medicine
YouTube has some good information available. Look up Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, M.D. He’s a practicing cardiologist in Florida. Anyway, he has lots of good videos addressing the topic of our diets and how to stay healthy. -
Men dominating 'Women's Sports @ Paris Olympics'
jas007 replied to KhunLA's topic in Political Soapbox
It’s not fake. At this point, the story is all over the internet. The bloodwork says male. And the IOC has some explaining to do. Women’s sports exist for a reason. Sports for women, not every idiot that wakes up and decides it would be easier to win a medal as a woman. Is that your argument? You’re a woman if you say you’re a woman? If that’s not stupid, I’m not sure what is. -

This morning I saw a video about the release of the bloodwork on the two boxers. Both male. Unless it’s a fake video, I guess that’s that. -

You keep avoiding the issue. Typical. Face it, you can’t deal with reality, so you parrot left wing talking points, as if that settles the matter. Try thinking, for a change. You’re embarrassing yourself with all the nonsense. It’s not a pretty picture. They have women’s sports for a reason. And yet, in your fantasyland, any self-proclaimed “woman” can compete. And so, real biological females lose out, all because some people can’t deal with the fact that there are very real differences between men and women. That’s not a bad thing. That’s just the way it is. -

And how do you know that? Because the IOC said so? What are the chromosomes? And you don’t know that, because the information is being hidden. -

And the IOC is full of it. And you still won’t answer the question. Women’s sports exist for good reason. What the IOC decides is beside the point. Of course, if they want to hold competitions that are a mockery of common sense, I guess that’s their right. However, real females should be allowed to compete with other real females. If not, why have the category at all? Why not have just “boxing”? Any human being can compete. And the fake “women” wouldn’t stand a chance. -
Perhaps. But the seasonal aspect is just one factor. And who do you think is buying all the bonds?

There were times in my life when all you had to do was follow me around do the opposite of everything I did. You could be a multimillionaire by now.

So your point is that all females are women, but not all women are females? The whole “woman” thing is silly, if you ask me. Women’s sports exist for a reason. And yet some people can’t deal with reality, so they engage in linguistic nonsense. -
Just out of curiosity, what is the typical yearly cost for accident and liability insurance in Thailand? I might buy a car at some point, but so far, I’m doing ok without one.
-
A global adjustment of overvalued assets. Some people think it’s primarily the result of the unwinding of the Yen carry trade and too much leverage in the system. Banks may be in trouble, for sure. There’s also a seasonal aspect and, in any event, many assets have been in bubble territory for far too long and are due for a correction. We might see a sharp reversal sometime soon, but don’t count on it. The typical bear market lasts 18 months or so. One way or the other, it can be an opportunity. Personally, I’m fine so long as the ATM machines keep dispensing Thai baht.

So in your fantasy world, anyone can be a woman? There are biological women and there are biological men. That’s it. And biological women should not have to compete against biological men. -
Apparently, there’s no good reason why a human can’t do well on a carnivore diet. It may take a while to adjust, but otherwise, you’ll be fine. And for some people, a carnivore diet can be a real game changer, as many diseases are the result of systemic inflammation caused by all the junk they put into processed food. Of course, many doctors will tell you otherwise.

"Regrets" versus "best thing I ever did".
jas007 replied to swissie's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I’m not sure what I was thinking when I was 20 years old. My time horizon wasn’t that large. I was in college and trying to have as much fun as possible. I figured the future would just work itself out. Fast forward 50+ years and I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up. Regrets? I don’t waste much time thinking about what could have been. It happened, I made those choices, and I couldn’t go back and change anything, even if I wanted to. As for the best thing I ever did? I can’t identify any one thing, but some of the best decisions I ever made came from stepping outside of the so-called comfort zone. Quitting a job, for example. Or retiring early. I’m sure some people thought I was nuts, but so what? I’ll take time over money, any day. -
The defense industry doesn’t exist to defend America. It exists primarily to enrich its owners at the expense of taxpayers. To be sure, it does a good job of enriching the arms merchants. The public doesn’t notice, though, as the media churns out propaganda 24/7 and the expense of it all is simply added to the public debt. That will work well until it doesn’t.

The Russians have no intention of expanding the conflict. They didn’t even want the current conflict, but they saw the expansion of NATO as an existential threat. Putin has been saying as much for years, but the Western warmongers didn’t listen. And so we have the narrative that Putin wants to reassemble the old Soviet Union. That’s silly. It’s a recipe for bankruptcy.
-
The whole “weird” thing is just the current tactic to smear the Republican candidates. They need to change the narrative once in a while.
-
People don’t seem to understand what’s going on. The entire left/right thing and the possible slide into socialism or whatever isn’t the real issue. That’s just the narrative. That’s what they want you to believe. Trump is demonized because he represents a threat to the continuing flow of corruption money to the military complex and the war machine. Those people need a continual state of war. They assassinated Kennedy for the same reason they demonize Trump. Anyone who thinks I’m nuts should go and spend a few years inside the Beltway. Listen to the typical conversations at dinner. Listen to what people are focused on. It’s all about money. Take a walk through some of the parking garages near K Street. Every kind of expensive car you can think of is in those parking garages. The amount of money flowing through DC is beyond belief, and much of it is for “national defense.” And the USA has the best congress that money can buy.

There are some apps available to help. The general idea is that it can help to reduce stress. I originally thought it was just nonsense, but apparently, there’s a real measurable benefit. I’ve got an Apple Watch that tracks my health 24/7. I also have a couple of apps that expand on the analytics. Everything is tracked. Heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, wrist temperature, walking, standing, sleep cycles. It’s a lot deeper than just those metrics, though. It’s worth looking into.

The real women can stop this nonsense anytime they want. The answer is simple. If a man is in the competition, they all withdraw. -
Whatever the current nutcase crazy ideas are, those are her policies. If she’s elected, we should hope she’s just another puppet, with some intelligent advisors pulling the strings.

Voters don’t need phony government statistics to know the economy is in trouble. They pay bills every month. They go to the grocery store. It’s more than obvious. Anyway, the election is still a few months away and things aren’t looking too good. The question is, who to blame for the mess. The Democrats are still trying to blame Trump for everything. I’m not sure that will work, though. It’s Biden’s mess.
