  1. If you eat the skin of the Kiwi fruit along with the rest of it, that gives you the most fiber. Maybe a small blender would work.
  2. Well, they got it done. The Senate passed a continuing resolution that would keep the government open. At the same time, the Senate voted to approve the legislation about the WEP and GFPO as it was approved in the house. Schumer invoked cloture and limited debate on amendments which were proposed by some Republicans trying to kill the bill. They had separate votes on the original bill and on the amendments. All the amendments failed but the bill as passed in the house was approved. Biden has probably already signed the legislation by now.
  3. They say that orange juice is even worse for you than sitting there and simply eating a bunch of sugar. Something about the glycemic index. Anyway, some fruits are better than others because they contain fiber in addition to glucose, which can temper insulin spikes. For example, Kiwi fruits aren't too bad, in moderation.
  4. Different people have different ideas about wealth. If you're healthy and have good friends and family and the free time to do anything you want, to some people, that's wealth. I'm sure there are sick billionaires in this world who would give every penny they have to be 22 years old again and healthy,
  5. Until recently, it never occurred to me that the local ATM machines dispensed anything other than 1000 baht notes, so I always just withdrew those. To get the smaller bills, I'd pay at the local convenience store with a 1000 baht bill. Anyway, it does seem sort of sad that I probably spend more in a day on stuff from the Tops Daily than the people who work there make in a day. I'm not trying to impress anyone, though, even if it may seem so to some people. Otherwise, in Thailand, I don't make any effort to flaunt my wealth. There's nobody I'm trying to impress. Ditto for life in America. Other than the place I'm living, which is for me, I make no effort to impress anyone. When I buy things, I buy them because I get a kick out of whatever, Stereo systems, cars, vacations. If I buy things, it's for kicks. What's the point of trying to impress people you don't even know? Of course, in some situations, you almost have to conform to a certain dress code or whatever. So a guy might have a closet full of expensive suits. But at the end of the day, he's back home in T-shirts and shorts.
  6. One time I thought I had the problem, so I watched everything I could on Youtube abut the subject. The answer is simple, according to some doctors. People become sugar addicts. So, what you have to do is quit sugar. That takes about three days. No sugar, no bread, no carbs, no high fructose corn syrup, no seed oils, no food additives... Just beef and some fish once in a while with some green leafy vegetables for the nutrients they provide. Eat like that for a month or so and your body will burn through a lot of fat and begin to process the protein you eat for energy. You'll lose all the dangerous fat surrounding your organs, especially abdominal fat. Those fats are the primary cause of systemic inflammation which in turn can cause insulin resistance and ultimately, diabetes. As it tuned out, I didn't really have the problem, but I did lose some wight. Or, if all that seems to radical, maybe try the Mediterranean Diet. Anyway, see a doctor and a nutritionist.
  7. If you say so. Some of us understand....
  8. Let me guess. You actually believe all that? It wasn't about electing a "female" leader. It was about electing a competent leader. A leader who understands that thel issues aren't all about her. And that person has to be electable. People can spot a phony a mile away. Hillary? An excellent example. Condescending in the extreme. People hated her. Or, enough people hated her that she had no chance. She was a hypocrite. For example, in the morning she'd give a speech about being "stronger together." Something like that. In the afternoon, she'd be on Wall Street somewhere getting paid big money to address an audience about how to screw over the public and enrich the 1%. Maybe she thought no one would notice? As for Kamala? The woman was not allowed to speak to the press unless it was on their terms and under close adult supervision. Hardly presidential material. If she can't handle a press conference, how can she be expected to handle being the President of the United States?
  9. Nixon's China move in the 70s was, in retrospect, not a bad idea. Like it or not, the US cannot afford any kind or conflict with China. And back then, as now, there were geopolitical concerns. Anyway, today China has its own problems. They probably can't afford any kind of conflict either. They just want to do business. We'll see what happens with Trump's tariffs.
  10. Although some people are now apparently going with the theory that these objects are all government made and that none of them are aliens, I'm not sure I buy that. The obvious drones, yes, it's possible that they're man made. But what about the orbs that seem to defy the laws of physics? Do governments really have technology that's that far advanced? I don't think so. Anyway, the people who seem to believe the "all man made" theory also think that it's all part of another government PsyOp. A fake alien invasion to justify military intervention and the suspension of civil liberties. In the US, they only have about a month until Trump is inaugurated, so....
  11. I'm not sure what's typical, but I've usually paid a deposit initially, and then, when everything is ready to do, I go to the real estate office on the day of the move, pay the balance, and they give me the keys. And they pick me up from my old place and move me to my new place. Usually, though, I don't have much to move.
  12. Not every restaurant is hooked up with every delivery service, so depending on what you want, you might not have much choice. And some services seem to have specials, with reduced delivery fees. Mostly, I don't care, as I give them a nice tip. Those people work hard.
  13. True, in my experience. I had a great childhood, although at the time it didn't seem particularly great. Just something I never thought about one way or the other. Anyway, some of the kids I went to school with came from "old money." At the time, I didn't know what "old money" was. We were just kids. Anyway, the old money kids weren't at all pretentious. You'd never know their grandparents started a NYSE company.
  14. What surprises me is that anyone is seriously asking this question.
  15. Whatever these things are, it seems rather obvious that the situation is not "normal,' and that the government must surely know much more than they're saying. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to wake up. Still, why worry about it? If nothing else, it's an entertaining distraction. There's not much you can do about it.
  16. I always keep 800K in a Thai bank. I still pay an agent. 8000 baht is no big deal. t's not complicated. I pay money and avoid the annoyance. I
  17. For me, I'd simply rather pay an agent. and have ZERO wait and no real possibility of getting anything wrong. If the choice was between paying an agent and being done with it or going to Immigration with my paperwork and taking the chance that they might find some problem, I'll pay the agent every time. One less thing I have to think about.
  18. Social Security will likely be the last thing they cut, and if they do, those cuts will likely be phased in over a number of years. The easier cuts will come from Medicare and Medicaid. Those are easier targets.
  19. Somewhere online I saw a video of a drone leaving a long trail of dust or whatever. And measurements are now showing increased radiation levels in some areas. Maybe there's a connection.
  20. Why? Some of the drones are US drones that are up there trying to figure out what the "orbs" are all about. The ones with lights are complying with typical FAA regulations? Or, it's all part of a PsyOP and they want to be seen to induce as much public hysteria as possible. The end game is to shut down the country with a national emergency sometime between now and the inauguration of Trump. Military law and no new President.
  21. The next one, if they start throwing nukes around. Maybe a bit longer than 10 minutes, but bot much.
  22. I don't really follow the QAnon stuff. But if they're talking about lizard people, then yes, that's a possibility.
  23. Who knows? Whatever they are, I'm not feeling any danger from them. As for the "drones" everyone is seeing. That may be a big deal. What seems plausible is that they are US drones "sniffing" for a stray nuke that was sent to the US from Europe.
  24. Some people think that they did survive and evolve and left Earth a long time ago. They come back once in a while to check things out.
  25. Once in the US I wanted to sell a car because I was leaving town the next day. So I priced it right, put up an ad on Craigslist, and had it sold in about two minutes. The people that bought it got the deal of a lifetime.
