  1. I find myself reading the forum less and less these day's. I really hate the new format that has you constantly clicking on the responses. I'm sure this has been talked about before I threw my two cents in but I see a time when I delete the bookmark. :o

  2. My wife has several insurance policies for her parents. I understand that one policy is for life ins. another is for staying in the hospital, and another one is for any accidents that might occur. From what I can gather there is not an umbrella type policy available. Can anyone shed some light on the Thai system of insurance. Any information or advice would be appreciated.

  3. If money is an issue now, at the beginning of the relationship. It will never go away, get it straight with her from the start that you make the money and you will control the money. Thai women want to be in charge and it seems that is the way here. Take control now or you will never have the chance again.

  4. Hey mates, I'm sorry, but are you crazy to pay such crazy charges? This UBC company charges absolute crazy rates for their service. If you compare the prices of about the same services in Europe and consider that many costs here in Thailand are much lower than in the western countries and besides that the Thai channels 3, 5, 7 , 9, 11 and many more are loaded with commercials, than we must realize that UBC must make a huge usurious profit. Use your common sense and boycot this monopolistic company. You could buy a card from the Malysian Measat package or any other nice package in the range of satellites over Thailand. Or one of the receivers with an internet connection and an automatic subscription to several packages, without the high costs of a UBC-subscription.

Could you expand my knowledge of this system, It sounds pretty good.

  5. Has anyone tried the internet speed boosters. I have looked at a few of them on a speed test sight and they are all advertisers on the site. I know there is alot of frustration out there with speed so I was wondering if they were were worth it. Thanks. :o

I dug these up from an old thread. I was going to try the one that picks up at Ekami. I have used Jack in the past but since I haven't done a visa run in a while so I am going to try something different this week.

  7. Yup It's rare to find a russian that will worry about the rules of standing in line. I have seen it in almost every country I have been to, it's just their way and tough if you don't like it. :o If you think it's bad here try being civil in a line in their country, they see courtesy as weakness.

  8. From what I was told, My Thai wife could not inherit land since she is married to farang. So her father gave her the land that would have gone to her after his passing. He is a smart guy with alot of land to be divided by the rest of the sibilings. The family would have cut her off from what was hers knowing them. There have been land arguments before so he nipped it before it could start.

  9. Hi Tavarich

I've never tried this (I found it via Google):

These options probably will clear the phones memory - use as a last resort!

Turn off the mobile device. Then press and hold “3", the “Green button” and “*” - Turn on and keep holding the keys untill the mobile phone restarts and prompts you to enter details.

If the keyboard is active the a full reset is *#7370# then press the call button.

Thanks for some good info but it didn't work still just a blank lite screen. I'm heading to the google now. Thanks again

  10. I was just reading in here the other day how much you all loved the Nokia N95. Well I was going to say how much I liked mine but I didn't take the time to do so. Anyway today I was trying to update the firmware and suddenly the phone turned itself off and the update was interupted. Now the phone is just a blank white screen. My question is has this happened to amyone else. And if so does anyone know how to fix it. I am heading to BMK to the Nokia fixit shop after I hear from all the giant brains out there. Thanks.

Okay, thanks Thaihome, I will consider this as an option. Sorry if it sounds like I'm doubting what you're saying. I guess it would be possible to get married here and have the ceremony at home. Not the story book ending we were looking for, but probably okay in the end. I'm going to keep looking around a bit, but may end up going this route.

    Khun ?,

Thanks. I completely agree with you

We were married here in Thailand a few years ago, Then after we got her a visa to the states we were married there too. It was no big deal to do that the only odd thing was that she had already changed her name to mine and it showed that on our marriage application. Now we have two documents to prove that we were married and that comes in handy sometimes,

She just woke up and seems a bit better this morning, we will give her a little while before deciding on going to the Dr. that hydrochloric acid is nasty stuff. Thanks for your concern.

I was a swimming pool contractor in the past. We used the stuff for scrubbing pools and etching concrete for painting them. I ran into clouds of it on several occaisions through the years. I never went to the doctor about it, but that is not the recommend procedure.
