Please don't confuse co-operation (which we had in the EEC) with control (that we have from the EU).
Oh..... and distinguish loathing of the EU from self-loathing.
If the UK was really under the control of Germany it would be in the Euro, Germany would set our tax rates and decide on our annual budget, and how many Police we have, or military spending, or spending on education, etc. The fact is it doesn’t and never has.
When people make these remarks they only serve to highlight their own ignorance ... something that Brexit supporters wear like a badge of pride.
The other nonsense spouted on here is the imminent collapse of the Euro and the EU itself. But in fact it’s the pound that’s collapsing and the UK that will soon be split.

It’s an interesting topic. There will be many Farang with small children living in Thailand who get by on a pension, a pension in a home currency that has depreciated greatly against the Baht. If they look into going home with a Thai wife and family they may not reach the income threshold to apply and may be too old for the job market back home.
Currency depreciation will also affect their living standards in Thailand. With the rules changing for the worse they may find themselves not meeting the requirements of Thailand. They are between a rock and a hard place. Is their only option to abandon their family and return to a home country that may not be that welcoming?

It involves blind faith based on nothing and a willingness to risk the 5th largest economy in the world to rid the UK of some foreigners!
Has anyone answered my question yet as to why the pound isn't flying given how wonderful Brexit is going to be ?
Your problem is that you think facts trump opinions and feelings ... not in the populist era, where ignorance and dumbassery is the new normal. Keep up!

Thailand cannot afford to lose young people with mathematical talent ... a sad ending to a young life, and terrible news for his parents and wider family.

Bizarre behaviour. What mother wouldn’t want the father of her child to bond with that child? No sane one.

I believe the vast majority of Tory MP’s will back Brexit with a deal and smooth transition ... the problem is a no deal Brexit.

If not his, then whose? The Queen, methinks!
Brexit will have to be done through Parliament. Involving the Queen in any way would be a disaster ... so we’d not only see the UK break up but the Royal Family dissolved.

I fail to understand why the politicians have chosen to derail what should have been an orderly process, wrecking the train in the process.
I have to assume that it is the usual:- greedy, lying pigs with their snouts firmly in the trough...... om both sides of the Channel.
Follow the money, folks. Someone is coining it in, big time. And Europe just wants our 30bn, on any excuse. If they really wanted us to stay, they would make it at least a little bit attractive to do so.
Boris, just do it, for gods' sakes, and let us all settle down and get on with life. And if all you MPs lose your seats, well you all deserve the dustbin of history anyway. There is no longer any honour in Parliaments, anywhere.
It’s not within Boris Johnson’s gift to give ... which few leavers seem I’m to understand.

We'll be out by then so there will be no point voting for the Lib Dems, no point voting for the Brexit party and no point voting for Corbyn who has shown himself to be devoid of the stones to get anything done or even to form a position.
Nope, this one's a non starter. Time for the losers to try and find another way to overturn the democratic vote. Maybe Dominic Grieve can go back to his plan of blocking the tax payers money being spent on education and housing for the poorest in society in the event of no deal. That will really help the country...
Heard it all before. Since the referendum the Brexiteer predictions on here have been consistently wrong. Recently recall an argument with one about how it was impossible, by law, not to leave on 31 March 2019 ... and how his superior knowledge and legal understanding trumped mine. Not a sound from him since.
If you believe that a government that will soon lose its majority (due to defections) can by pass parliament and engineer “no deal” good luck ... but you’ll look pretty foolish when it doesn’t happen.

There is murmurs of a Government of National unity, whose sole purpose would be to extend article 50 and put down a second referendum ... followed by a General Election.
Dominic Cumming’s comments are more propaganda than fact ... in September he’ll be eating his words.

I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if we end up revoking Article 50 to prevent a no deal outcome ... the failure to meet in the middle means that both sides are going for extreme outcomes. If a couple of Tory MPs defect in September it will all look so different.

I find it amusing how the English get all hot and bothered about us Scots getting our independence and immediately start all this doom and gloom stuff about Scotland's future.....I would worry about England's future, because right now it is a mess with England's version of Donald Trump in charge. All the nonsense he is spouting about Brexit and how he will get a great deal......the boy is dreaming. The EU will send him packing asap. How did we get in this Brexit mess? Mainly because the Tories without doing any research brought the country to a vote and were completely surprised by the result. And what do you have now a SNAFU. Good luck.
I was never in favour of Scottish independence, I liked being part of the UK within the EU. I can just about accept, although I don’t like it, leaving the EU with a sensible plan, but my red line is being dragged out on a no deal basis that no politician campaigned for, indeed all leave campaigners promised a “good deal”. The game changer for me is the inward investment that Scotland would gain from England leaving the EU ... Scotland would look very attractive to the growing economies of the Far East and America’s, looking for a base within the EU. It might work out really well.

The UK courts have no jurisdiction in Thailand. So any court decision would have no effect on a Thai living in Thailand. Your husband would have to take his case to a Thai court. I very much doubt that a Thai court would order you to return your son to the UK. I really don’t think that you have to do anything. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Liss, first it is heroes. Second they they are not heroes but zeroes because they cannot tell the truth from anything else. Have any of them done proper research into any subject? Doubtful. Have any of them published their research as I have? Doubtful. So, do not expect much from the great unwashed. Incidentally, the additional digit is not a truly functional item as it is not really usable for anything and cannot be manipilated as you suggest.
'nuf sed.
It is of course very important before you even think of posting on Thai Visa to enter into a PhD programme on the subject matter in question, and submit several peer reviewed papers to the relevant journals for publication.
Failing that, get a life!

Lots of comments on here post and pre referendum about getting out of the EU before it falls apart ... and it’s looking increasingly more likely that the UK will fall apart. Scotland and Northern Ireland for sure if they press ahead with a no deal exit.

I'm not sure about hard as such, or that simply "hard work" is the solution ... there is an unpredictable element to life that few are willing to acknowledge ... luck, good and bad, plays a part in many people's lives. If you live a long and healthy life you may have your ancestors to thank for that ... if you are unlucky in the DNA lottery you might not be so blessed. Michael Jordan has had a great life due to his prowess in Basketball ... what if he had been born in Zimbabwe?

EU's Juncker tells Britain: no-deal Brexit will hurt you the most

But the pain is spread over a population almost ten times bigger, so the UK takes the biggest amount of pain by far, the pain spread across the EU will be unwelcome but much easier to absorb. The economic impact on the UK is on a greater magnitude.
