  1. Thanks. I'm reporting to Jomtien, so I'll plan for the worst scenario.
  2. Thanks for the info. I'm aware the print-out is a receipt for the previous report. My address has not changed. Why query is if I can use the last print-out. If immigration only need to type in my passport number to their system, and can see my re-entry stamp in the passport, do I need to fill-in a TM47?
  3. After returning to Thailand with a re-entry permit, my first 90 day report is due in a couple of weeks. Question: Can I use the last immigration print-out, which has obviously expired, or must I fill-in a new TM47? Thanks in advance for any information.
  4. ........ because envelopes are ordered by the thousand, and must be used-up.
  5. Assuming you've stopped breathing and your heart's stopped, everything after that's irrelevant.
  6. Probably the same time that they bought their top of the range iPhones and laptops, and spend afternoons visiting local ice-cream establishments.
  7. This aims to generate extra revenue for the government and prevent Thai people from spending excessively overseas, according to the poll. Who Else! This aims to generate extra revenue for the government and prevent Thai people from spending excessively overseas, according to the poll. I've read some rubbish, but this takes the biscuit! And the foreign tourists being milked for their last pocket change! I think the next time I visit my home country, it'll be with a one-way ticket.
  8. I've used Lazada for years. I tried Shopee for a couple of items, but they don't have tracking and took about 1 week to deliver. With Lazada, quite often I get next day delivery, can track when delivery is planned and always get a phone call to check I am at home.
  9. Yes, but they get to use more paper!
  10. A global travel distribution company has announced the return of Chinese tourists during the May Day holidays. Thanks for the warning.
  11. When I was serving in The RAF, living in married quarters, I witnessed a guy beating the s**t out of his wife at the bottom of the stairs. The front door was open, so having seen it, I couldn't ignore it. I went in and pulled him off, throwing him out the door. He couldn't say much as I out-ranked him, but his wife was quite annoyed that I had intervened, and told me to F*** Off and mind my own business. So, would I intervene again! If it was on private property, not a chance! If it was in public, maybe, although not really recommended in Thailand.
  12. The reason to celebrate Songkran by showing respect to your elders went out the window a long time ago. Now, it's just another cash-cow.
  13. Looking for Recliner in Pattaya You can have my Wife; she's got the gold medal in that sport.
  14. What's a "Law Enforcement Officer"? That's new to me; perhaps I've been here too long.
  15. Looks like he's happy enough, now that he has the police report for his insurance company,
  16. Buy insurance: British tourist issues warning after moped crash! The headline is a bit misleading. Is it the British Tourist issuing the warning? That's the same as saying, "I can do what I want, as long as somebody else is paying"! If she didn't have a licence to ride a motorcycle, which is quite likely, why was she allowed to rent one? The rental company should be made to pay her hospital bill. After-all, it's through their all-too-common greed that she had the accident! Word would soon get around, but I suspect it wouldn't make a slightest bit of difference! Motorcycle rental companies are a law unto themselves; it'd be like telling a Soi Dog not to eat.
  17. It's not worth replying to that. Chill out and keep taking the tablets. Have a nice day.
  18. I'd been riding big bikes since I was old enough to get on one. But here in Thailand, I have a 125cc. Pattaya isn't the best place to get back in the saddle. No doubt you've seen the way they ride. My advise is to get a basic 125cc and get used to it before joining the daily free-for-all.
  19. About 3-4 years ago, a woman was killed whilst crossing a busy dual-carriageway near me. When the emergency services arrived, she had no ID or bag, and yet she was on her way to 7/ll to buy a few things. It was 2 weeks later that she was eventually identified, by a local man who had seen her walking towards the dual-carriageway on the evening of the accident. UK Rules posted what we all know was a likely scenario. Unfortunately, it happens too often. Maybe you should get out more and see the real world, and give the other posters a bit more respect.
  20. As far as phone scams are concerned, I don't answer the phone to anybody not in my contact list. Emails the same - If it's in the spam box, I delete it without opening it. I've even had spam emails with the names of family members in the address. Text messages the same; I get them every day, but delete the obvious scam texts. I always adhere to the above rules, and I've had no problems at all.
  21. Last time I went on one of those death traps was over 10 years ago. The driver was doing 160kph along the raised part of Bangna-Trat. A week later, 6 were killed in a crash on the same section of road in one of those rockets, and I vowed never again would I get in one; probably why I'm still alive in the Land of Smashes.
  22. Yes, and 114kmh is probably normal; I travel along that stretch quite often.
  23. The GPS N13.010465 E100.930822 is on Sukhumvit north-bound, about 800mtrs past Route 36, between Soi 14 and Soi 12, although Soi 12 is about 500mtrs further-on; obviously the reporter's eyesight is about as good as the reporting.
  24. If that's the picture the Thai local took, somebody needs to tell him that the dark skinned woman is nothing but a shadow. I hope he was breathalysed when he handed-in the photo.
