I imagine vaccination will be a part of a new visa requirement , 'so get it or go home' will be the new immigration mantra.

It's hard to get a vaccination that isn't available to foreigners. Why don't they look a small child in the eyes and say sorry but we're kicking your dad out for not having something we won't give him. Wouldn't happen in the Uk or USA

Massage parlours plead for govt help

    By THE NATION

The Charawi Association for the Conservation of Thai Massage on Wednesday handed over a letter at Government House addressed to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who is also chairman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, urging the government to help spa and massage parlour entrepreneurs who have been forced to shut down their businesses to prevent the new wave of Covid-19 from spreading.

“Since the first wave in Thailand, massage businesses have employed strict measures advised by the Public Health Ministry, including limiting the number of customers, rearranging the service area to abide by the social distancing rule and providing thermal screening,” said Pitak Yotha, a representative of the association.

“However, spa and massage businesses were one of the first groups ordered to shut down and also the last to be allowed to reopen, which is not fair.”

Pitak said there are currently about 1,700 spa and massage businesses in Bangkok and 15,000 in other provinces.

“As many as 11,000 businesses have reported permanent closure due to lack of money, while about 4,000 that are still open are following the guidelines laid out by authorities,” he said.

“We would like the government to relax its shutdown measures on massage businesses, or at least come out with relief measures, such as exemption on property rent until the situation improves,” Pitak said.

“Many spa and massage businesses have limited access to the government’s soft loans provided via financial institutes, while other campaigns such as ‘We Travel Together’ or ‘Let’s Go Halves’ are not specifically tailored for customers of spa and massage businesses,” he added.

Contact tracing apps now COMPULSORY in Thailand - possible penalties for people not using them

Contact tracing applications are now compulsory for people living in Thailand and those who do not use them and later test positive for COVID-19 could face legal action.

Members of the public, particularly those residing in high risk areas now need to download the Mor Chana or Thai Chana contact tracing app, Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesperson Dr Thaweesin Visanuyothin announced on Thursday.

The government’s Mor Chana and Thai Chana apps enable health workers to track a person’s movements and places they have visited in the event they may have come into contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19.

Dr Thaweesin also confirmed the travel restrictions in place in five eastern provinces, which prevents all but essential travel in and out of Chonburi, including Pattaya, Trat, Samut Sakhon, Chanthaburi and Rayong. Anyone travelling to or from these provinces must have the contact tracing apps installed on their smartphone.

Dr Thaweesin also said that as well as the use of the Mor Chana app, face masks are also compulsory.

We have just been informed by the East Coast Golf Course Management Association (EGA) that Rayong Green Valley, Eastern Star and The Emerald golf courses are closed.

Also due to a Japanese golfer catching Covid 19, Greenwood Country Club has been temporarily closed for 14 days.

We will naturally keep you posted as and when courses are forced to close or are then able to reopen.

Meanwhile if a course in your area is forced to close, do please let everyone know by posting a comment.

So you can't distance out doors where it is safer but you can go to 7/11? Loonatics have definitely taken over the asylum
