  1. I don't think Thailand and Laos have the same issues - a shorter and safer boat crossing across the Mekong - I would prefer to use the friendship bridge and pay my farang dues to the immigration people as a way of saying thank you for welcoming me to your country, I very much doubt they will give me a house (bigger the more illegitimate children you have) car, pension, social security or job seekers allowance. Welcome to England.
  2. To keep the thread active 🙂 Might need to go back to the UK at Christmas and my Thai girlfriend wants to come with me. She said to me is it difficult to get a visa to England? I replied we are not flying we are going to France first and buying a Dinghy (she just looked at me with a cute confused smile) then when we arrive in the UK we will get an official greeting of police boats and life boats then they will put us in a nice hotel and give us some money, after that we will escape from the inadequate detention areas and go and visit my family (cheaper than airbnb). If they do (which they won't) kick us out we'll come back to Thailand for a holiday, visas are old school!
  3. UK mentality is it is the people smugglers fault, if there is demand there will always be supply - it's like telling everyone its ok to go out and buy a kilo of coke or meth it's not your fault it's those pesky dealers so don't worry about it here's a free house to help you out 🙂 A severe analogy I know but what is the difference?
  4. While I am not Donald Trumps biggest fan he had the right idea on this, a couple of kids got separated from their parents for a couple of weeks (boo hoo) if they tried to enter the country illegally and the parents got banged up in a proper jail before they were deported, but again they knew the risks and why take a child on an illegal excersise they deserved what they got, same with the channel crossing why risk your kids life? Trump cut down the illegal immigration numbers that's proven, its the only thing that makes these law breakers think twice, rather than destroy a haulage companies business when they hibernate, pee and poo in a truck and the haulage firm gets done for it, then on arrival social services take care of you, put you in a nice 5* hotel, give you money to buy stuff then eventually your own house when the UK is struggling to take care of it's own citizens, been thinking about getting a foreign passport myself a better welcome than a returning UK citizen 🙂
  5. I agree with this point of view totally, but I also think detention centers are part of the problem, once the asylum seekers are in those their UK ticket is accepted they just escape and blend into society if and when they get picked up, it's not like an Asian immigration detention centre Thailand or Philippines for example that is more akin to a prison, and TBH that is what they should be like. If the UK detention centers don't start serving the correct food or allowing the detainees to worship their own religion the human rights people get up in arms, it has got to a ridiculous point and the political soapbox forum here, but still respecting human rights at the same time is the only place I can talk about it, apart from the bars but I stopped drinking a while ago, might start again when I go back to England for a holiday, I'm getting a boat from France though not doing the boring thing like flying in with a legal passport!
  6. I know this is a fairly controversial post everyone but it is not my intention to incite any type of hatred I am sure there are many people risking their lives to escape a bad life - my point was more along the lines of the UK should not have to take responsibility for everyone
  7. I have been thinking about this and don't want to give the appearance I am some sort of right wing racist which I am far from I have lived in many countries myself, latest breaking news 700 arrived on boats in a single day on Sunday alone! That is more people than the population of some UK towns or villages in a single day where do we put them? I don't think the ferries bring that many tourists to the UK! https://news.sky.com/story/more-than-700-migrants-arrived-in-uk-in-11-boats-in-a-single-day-new-figures-show-13195893
  8. I can see confusion from some posters - i am not sure what you don't get? You think it is OK for people to illegally enter a country and sap their resources and economy then eventually with a successful channel crossing bring the rest of their family. For the 2 confused at my post I am sure you wouldn't be if they were in front of you or your family in the NHS queues - i am not saying I am glad they died I am just saying I am glad another two illegal immigrants didn't make it on shore however that is achieved
  9. Would most outher countries in the world consider themselves far right? like the one we live in and Australia that would send the navy to send them back? Why do they keep killing themselves in small boats because England is a soft touch of they make it - they should just drown themselves in their own country and save an already resourced public service in the UK to collect their bodies
  10. I was thinking about going to England myself for a holiday but it seems so last century to book a flight and use a passport 🙂
  11. Don't think it was a joy float 🙂 not sure if AN will let me link the sky news story https://news.sky.com/story/two-migrants-die-trying-to-cross-channel-13195308 But illegal immigrants for sure first reports seem so like I said who cares? their other cross channel buddies won't be setting up a gofund me page for them any time soon they need to get back to the business of crossing from France themselves - a minor setback for them but not a show stopper!
  12. I am not far right but does anyone really care they gambled they lost! The less people doing that in the first place the less problems the UK would be having at the moment! Maybe a simplistic view am I missing something?
  13. People who own dangerous dogs interest me a lot, what I have observed in my life is it is usually a way to make up for their own shortcomings and lack of power and confidence. The biggest dog I have ever had was a Labrador, you don't hear of many Labrador mauling stories! Job sorted RIP fella and the owner got off lightly pay some cash and he even probably got to keep the dog! It needs a bullet in the back of its head.
  14. I don't admire it, a man is dead "Sensibly just work something out without months or years of lawyers and courts and nonsense" that's really going to stop people from having dangerous animals, the mentality is, I've got enough money I can do whatever I want. I have had dogs all my life and despite what people say or think they don't just "suddenly" turn there are signs there and precautions you can take. A guy has just been charged in the UK with the death of his mum that had come to see his granddaughter, I feel <deleted> for their family and loss, but it was an illegal dog that someone needs to take responsibility for. The Thais could learn a lot from England! He's not going to be able to buy his way out of that one!
  15. ChatGPT also getting its info from a competitor site Thaiger, however stuff is adding up other than the reason behind it, I would have paid his debt to keep the other 5 people alive if that is the reason behind it what a complete kn0b a$$hole w4nker and burn in hell! ChatGPT is using the words like allegedly unlike most of the current news reports it is case closed! CHATGPT In the recent case in Thailand where six people were found dead in a hotel room, initial reports suggest the possibility of cyanide poisoning. Cyanide is a highly lethal poison capable of causing rapid death by inhibiting cellular respiration, leading to asphyxiation at the cellular level. Given its potency, cyanide could indeed kill multiple individuals quickly, potentially before they had the chance to call for help (Thaiger) (Thaiger). The deaths of the six Vietnamese nationals were reported after they allegedly consumed tea and coffee mixed with poison. Cyanide is particularly effective in such scenarios because it can cause symptoms like dizziness, headaches, shortness of breath, and loss of consciousness within minutes, progressing swiftly to cardiac arrest and death (Thaiger). Considering the speed and efficiency of cyanide, it is plausible that it could result in multiple fatalities in a confined space without immediate alarm from the victims, especially if they consumed the poison simultaneously and were incapacitated rapidly (Thaiger) (Thaiger).
  16. One day into the investigation and it's all solved, must be because the FBI arrived in 2 hours or were they already here? There also seems to be some confusion around Arsenic and Cyanide, for the purpose of education this is ChatGPT's opinion, bearing in mind that ChatGPT is not a Thai detective although might not be a bad idea! CHATGPT Arsenic and cyanide are both highly toxic substances, but they differ in their chemical properties, sources, and mechanisms of toxicity. Here are the key differences: Chemical Properties Arsenic Type: Metalloid Chemical Symbol: As Common Forms: Arsenic can be found in both organic and inorganic forms, with inorganic arsenic (e.g., arsenic trioxide, arsenate, arsenite) being more toxic. Appearance: Arsenic compounds are typically colorless and tasteless, making them hard to detect in food and water. Cyanide Type: Chemical compound Chemical Formula: CN^− (cyanide ion) Common Forms: Hydrogen cyanide (HCN), potassium cyanide (KCN), and sodium cyanide (NaCN) are the most common forms. Appearance: Cyanide salts are typically white powders, and hydrogen cyanide is a colorless gas with a faint, bitter almond smell (though not everyone can detect this odor due to a genetic trait). Sources Arsenic Natural Sources: Arsenic is found naturally in the Earth's crust and can contaminate groundwater and soil through natural processes. Industrial Sources: Used in pesticides, herbicides, wood preservatives, and semiconductors. It can also be released from mining and smelting activities. Cyanide Natural Sources: Found in certain plants (e.g., cassava, bitter almonds, pits of fruits like cherries and apricots) as cyanogenic glycosides. Industrial Sources: Used in mining (gold extraction), electroplating, synthetic fibers, and plastics manufacturing. It can also be a byproduct of combustion. Mechanisms of Toxicity Arsenic Cellular Effect: Interferes with cellular respiration by inhibiting various enzymes, particularly those involved in the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is crucial for energy transfer in cells. Health Effects: Chronic exposure can lead to skin lesions, cancer (skin, lung, bladder), cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Acute exposure can cause vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and death in severe cases. Cyanide Cellular Effect: Binds to cytochrome c oxidase in mitochondria, inhibiting cellular respiration by preventing cells from using oxygen to produce ATP. Health Effects: Rapid onset of symptoms including headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, and seizures. High doses can cause respiratory failure and death within minutes. Treatment Arsenic Immediate Care: Removal from the source of exposure and supportive care. Chelation Therapy: Medications like dimercaprol and succimer can bind to arsenic and help remove it from the body. Cyanide Immediate Care: Removal from the source of exposure and administration of 100% oxygen. Antidotes: Hydroxocobalamin (a form of vitamin B12) binds cyanide to form cyanocobalamin, which is excreted in urine. Sodium thiosulfate can also be used to convert cyanide to thiocyanate, which is less toxic and excreted in urine. Summary Arsenic: A metalloid found in various inorganic and organic forms, primarily affecting long-term health and causing chronic issues such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. Toxicity mechanism involves interference with ATP production. Cyanide: A chemical compound found in certain plants and used in various industries, causing rapid onset of symptoms and potentially fatal outcomes by inhibiting cellular respiration through cytochrome c oxidase binding.
  17. Ah the Oracle source of truth must be correct then 🙂
  18. Pure speculation, killing 5 other people and yourself because you owe a few baht to someone, I can't see that personally, it is a pre-emptive news report initiated by police suspicion on unfounded third hand comments no doubt, I have had loans before but I don't want to shoot up a bank!
  19. Smoke and mirrors is the perfect quote, why would the FBI be sent on the death of two Americans, Brits and Americans die all the time here and they don't send the FBI or MI5 for that! Something much more at play here for someone to want 6 seemingly innocent people dead using a very hard to come by poison. Reminds me of the Novichok killings in the UK a few years ago that has been proven to be KGB operatives. The transparent investigation into this is something that seems to be promised but I suspect will not happen based on the reasons behind these killings, either that or it will be put down to a cult suicide!
  20. Obviously doing work reserved for Thais!! 🙂
  21. Did anyone see a follow up on this if she was found safe and well which I hope was the case a sweet looking young lady? Sometimes the grass is not always greener which is a mentality I won't talk about until I know the outcome of this story. P
  22. duplicate post apologies!
  23. Keep the good looking birds in the bars will do it for most people I suspect! As for the gambling it will probably go the same way as the cannabis did and they will ban it a year after it is legalised as one general said to another, maybe we should have stayed in the army and not bothered with this government stuff 🙂
  24. In the most respectful kind of way shouldn't even require TV sleuths this one, find the BF job sorted, can't be that difficult to trace if he is using a kosher passport. American AND Swedish not much else to say!! (sorry!! :))
