I think that the "zero zoning requirements" is not true. More like they are often being ignored or that residents aren't aware enough.

Couple of years ago a large plot (10 rai or more) was purchased right in the middle of "our" village. There was a bit of an industrial level landfill effort, a concrete fence popped up round most the area and large metal gate appeared.

We were worried it might be some factory/warehouse thing, with probable negative effect on quality of life. Asked around, and most locals were either evasive or clueless. None seemed to happy about it, though. At the end, the Mrs. did her thing with officials, and got some details - someone did have plans for something along these lines, but locals objected citing rights and regulations and the project stalled.

Some of the points mentioned were -

    - Can't build a factory in close vicinity to agricultural lands.

    - Access road not suitable for heavy traffic.

    - "our" zone, on "our" side of the highway is designated some kind of "green zone" (but there are other factories anyway - from before the proclamation/regulation was issued).

    - Royal agricultural project right next door (which wasn't involved in the proceedings, just cited as reason to halt the project).

Seems like the project's owner was less than truthful and forthcoming when declaring plans to the municipality.

That sounds like the beginnings of a cohesive community. Congratulations!

Okay, I'ill make you happier with a comment that is not nonsensical.
The men who are turning up in China, to buy body parts for themselves, just about every single one of them are ethnic Chinese. Body parts are never transported out of China. Men turn up in China, get the replacement body part fitted, and then fly out of China.

I think the same happens in India. It probably happens anyplace where the regard for human life doesn't exist but the regard for money, however earned, does.

Below are a few comments of the video. Pretty pathetic propaganda from the CCP.

Apparently the character on the gate where the cars come out is Fujian(福建)southeast China, while Shenzhen is southwest China. Please do not post fake news to fool those who cannot read Chinese.

LOL, calm down, It’s NOT footages of military on route to Shenzhen. It’s in Fujian province, 750km away. Looks more like typhoon flood crisis support. Notice all the amphibious vehicles. It’s not for riots control. Sorry to disappoint some folks.

So you're saying this reporting is incorrect?

Apparently you don’t understand polls. They are but one tool in the analysis arsenal. They don’t exist in a vacuum and should be used with experience, vision, subjective, and objective evidence to produce a model with a statistical range of error. Using these criteria, many without establishment blinders, had a clear vision of 2016.

Polls are not truths, they are signposts.

Not even that really. They are a measurement of old people who are at home, don't hang up, who are not independents that still have a land line.

I think records indicate that more than 50% of the guitars in America are owned by about 3% of the population. About 200 million guitars in the hands of about 10 million people. Not saying they're whackos (beyond being guitar nuts), but how many guitars does one person need to be entertaining? My sister has at least 20 guitars, yet she can only play one at a time. My brother in law has about 15 motorcycles in all states of repair. I like to fish, and would guess I have at least 50 outfits dating back to what my father fished with, why I got as gifts as a kid and stuff I have accumulated over the years. How many cars does Jay Leno have?

What difference does it make? Are these mass shooters typically gun enthusiasts with hundreds of weapons?  I don't think so, and in any event, they only really need one. It seems (although I'm not sure) most of these guys obtain their weapon legally after passing a background check.

My apologies. I didn't realize I was speaking to someone who doesn't know the difference between a lethal weapon and a guitar. I won't make that mistake again.

Disingenuous is conflating removing guns from law abiding citizens who have them for self defense and sport with removing guns from whackos who have a history.
