  1. You can drink, you just can't buy or sell alcohol. Stock up in advance.
  2. 1. UK passport holders cannot get a 15-day visa on arrival. 2. UK passport holders can get a 30 days visa exempt stamp at the airport, which can easily be extended by another 30 days at an Immigration office. 3. 45 days visa exempt was a Covid benefit and has been stopped.
  3. "Normal" girls back in England aren't usually interested in settling down with guys in their 50s-60s (unless they're a superstar or Rupert Murdoch). Even UK prostitutes are more likely to setttle down with a younger guy as their boyfriend/pimp. Hence the attraction for some of Thai bargirls! It doesn't seem weird at all to me.
  4. I became a father for the first time at age 55, so am hoping to make it until he's at least 30 🤞
  5. Congratulations to your wife - it only seems like yesterday that we were discussing her initial visa/language test. Very happy for both of you. (Sorry, can't help with your question).
  6. https://www.newcambridge.com/
  7. The original post was from May 2021, so the student has probably moved on!
  8. An extremely well made and enjoyable documentary. Both Becks and Posh come out of it very well. Glenn Hoddle and the tabloid press don't!
  9. He has a point though. Thailand seems to think having any type of degree is more valid than a proper TEFL/TESOL qualification! TEFL jobs in the UK and Europe are often as badly paid as they are in Thailand, but most insist on a CELTA or Trinity TESOL qualification as a minimum.
  10. It was broken a few weeks ago, then fixed (I managed to make an appointment for early Nov) but appears to be broken again!
  11. My 8-year-old son has always suffered from excessively sweaty hands and feet, which has started to impact his learning (sometimes he can't keep hold of a pen) and playing (not easy to hold a handheld game device or phone with very sweaty hands). Is this an allergy or a genetic issue? His mother does have the same problem, but nowhere as bad as him and only usually when she's stressed. Can anyone recommend a clinic or doctor (preferably in the Pattaya/Rayong area) who could do something about this - or is it something that can be treated by OTC medicines? Thanks
  12. No. Why would you think that?
  13. Define "trouble"? I once barfined the beautiful ex-girlfriend of a well-known bar owner, who then turned up at my hotel, caused a scene by banging on the door and shouting at 5am and refusing to leave until she came out. Continued for a few weeks before she went back to him, and all was amicably resolved. So, not really trouble.
  14. Different anthem.
  15. Not really surprising as it's a government office! Do people still freeze on the BTS when it plays?
  16. Different anthem.
  17. Likely to be a popular choice for the next generation.
  18. What's the point if no one else is doing it?
  19. Maybe you're new, but Beach Road hookers and ladyboys in particular have been a problem for many years!
  20. I guess so. Before 2017, I would always stand out of respect to the Thais in the cinema. Now, I remain seated for the same reason!
  21. Sukhumvit where? It's a long road stretching all the way from Bangkok to Cambodia!
  22. Isn't that illegal? I trust you've avoided the urge to try!
  23. It's better to avoid the ones on Beach Road. If you're curious, much better to try the ladyboy bars or any bar which has them.
  24. Exactly. ???? If you haven't tried something, how do you know whether you like it or not!
