  1. ..another 'false and misleading' headline to this article!

Hardly a 'robbery'...there was no force, no fear...simply a case of stolen property...(maybe fear of a transfer somewhere coming up).

Sorry to deflate the big 'sensation balloon'.

Robbery is the crime of taking or attempting to take anything of value by force or threat of force or by putting the victim in fear.

  2. The truth is that your video shows far less drama than you describe. One motorcycle on which the pillion rider appears to take aim at something with what appears to be a gun that does not appear to have been fired.

Of course the gun wasn't fired. If it was maybe I wouldn't be here to talk about it. Even so, a pillion rider pulling out a gun while riding along a busy road is not an everyday occurrence.

I can only hope you aren't used to more scary situations but most of us prefer to live in safety, without people having guns pulled out in public places just to settle a score. In my opinion the pillion rider used his gun to scare his rival. That should NOT have taken place in a public place with dozens of innocent motorists around. Even in Thailand, it is not common for such incidents to occur on public roads. More commonly, karaoke parlours, private residences and other places out of the public eye.

..I think not gangs or of bad intent ...just gung-ho young guys..may have been a replica..looked to be pointing ahead ..not at you or any other vehicle...too dark..to quick...I don't for one minute think it was about you in particular or your driving prior to the incident. Sure was a bizarre incident. I've seen it here in Chiang Mai on three occasions..one bike chasing another...right in front of me..no cam to back up my statement..sorry...keep safe.

Sure. I agree it wasn't pointed at me or even necessarily at the vehicle coming up in the right lane beside me (not visible in the video). Could have been aimed at the motorcycle driving dangerously fast against the flow of traffic on the other side of the road.

Gun could have been a replica, no doubt about that. However, the very fact any sort of gun or gun-look alike toy was being waved about in public is cause for concern. Imagine any sort of gun (even if not real) were pulled out inside an airport.

..the point I was making was 'maybe' it was a replica..this would take away the seriousness of the act played out in front of you..obviously meant to scare people, but with no intent on their part.

Of course once apprehended and the weapon seized (whatever it turned out to be..replica, water pistol, stick. even a finger under a cloth, whatever)..it is still considered a real firearm in the eyes of the complainant and witnesses...hence my labelling of the pillion passenger being 'gung-ho'.

    Still alarming and intolerable.

  4. Surely some of the females who worked there are talking and telling the police how things worked inside? So how is it they don't know what these blue cards are used for? It begs to ask the question as to how far up the chain payoffs were made and how much is not being said to the public about it.

Also, these comments about not blacking out the names. This is only one page being shown yet, this business has been operating for a very long time. What is it they are not showing?

..any law enforcement agency in any country would be failing in their duty to reveal their hand at such an early stage of any investigation..keep whispering...pass it along the line...the excitement is building.

  5. That's the right time and place to have seen it. Did you see where it went?

It came from my left (ie, from the sea to the east) as I was facing the city center (from the south). It flew due west.

It was about 1000 meters from me, but seemed so low I could almost touch it. It was massive.

When the news broke I said nothing. There were dozens of conspiracy theories explaining how the plane had been commandeered remotely and flown to Diego Garcia. Other theories focused on a group of Chinese passengers who'd invented a new technology capable of bankrupting the US. For a while I figured I'd seen something I wasn't supposed to, and simply kept my mouth shut. In a strange kind of way I was a tad scared.

It wasn't until a few weeks later that I recounted the story to my GF (who I live with here in Pattani).

I understand now that all these conspiracy theories were just twaddle.

I've followed news about the MH370 very closely for the last two years. It's a very sad tale. It's clear to me that Captain Shah committed suicide.

your UFO sighting could have been very important at the time.

IMO you should have reported your sighting at the earliest opportunity...forget being scared of repercussions...focus on the facts.

  6. My tv recently blew up with the last lighting storms we had. We contacted the repair man, he wanted 1000baht for the visit and he said if it was the main board would be 5000baht, but no guarentee, if video board probably another 5000baht. Thought I'd cut my losses and bought another telly. Have ordered the main board off eBay for 800baht, worth a try?

You may well get lucky, My 5 YO Samsung 40" LCD had the usual backlight problem. If you take the back panel off after you have removed the power lead and type the part number of the damaged board into EBay you may well find used parts for around 700-800 baht, mine came from Bolton, UK so postage was almost the same as the board. If you're not sure which board is the problem take the TV to a TV repair shop most big towns will have one and ask for fault diagnosis. Call outs may be costly and may lead to disappointment anyway. There are also lots of YouTube videos on TV repairs but please do not touch anything with the power on if you don't know what you are doing, death may result!!!

Apparently one of the most common faults is a blown capacitor(s) which are cheap and fairly easy to replace. (see YouTube)

Yes the first thing I did was remove the back of the telly to see if I could see any blown capacitors. My telly is a lg 50inch smart and this is all that is located in the back.

..unbelievably compact..need a magnifying glass to work on it.
