quite happy this has happened as my tv bill just went from 1500baht month to 250 baht!
old: expat tv + 365sport premium
new: www.uk-tv.asia (awesome btw) + ilikeHD basic sports package & beta player
result
moral of the story.. i wouldn't have searched for this thread if expat/365 had done the decent thing and emailed an update or replied to my email (even cut and paste would have done)thanks to Crossy for the uk-tv recommendation.. feeds are solid, 7 day rollback, nice tv guide and more channels

Crazy! So instead of regulating them, and helping people quit smoking, as well as cutting down on 2nd hand smoke inhalation, they do this which benefits nobody!
benefits tobacco industry..

I see this as a positive for the Nations army. The Junta is doing a good job of keeping security in check ... how would it be if no one was in control ? back to the old days of chaos and anarchy. ? but some just don't get it !!
Why is it that any news about the military whatever it is there are farang who just want to whinge about every story, every episode, every move .... it doesn't matter what the news .. it just an automatic whinge .... lol
It gets a bit much to hear whinging farangs all the time ..... Why stay here if everything is not to your liking ?? why bother to live here and hate the way things are ?? maybe move to Cambodia or somewhere.
The current PM has worked hard to bring security and stability to the thai people which is now being recognised by the US and others.
I vote ... stop the whinging or move on ....
why read and comment here if all the whinging annoys you so much?
maybe start reading the guardian or something
i vote ... move on

I appreciate your sentiment, because such action would save lives in the future...but the trucks I see in Thailand are pretty new...so this begs the question, "What did these people do before they had trucks?"
they had older trucks

i think its obvious to say at this point its easier to bully a few manufacturers than say:
1) ask thais to take responsibility for themselves or others
2) instruct the police to be proactive
i therefore expect more of the same half-ass "solutions" with the same non-results

people will by nature do what they can get away with thats why we have police, army and governments or there would be anarchy.
the police are paid to enforce the law. so order them to do their <deleted> jobs or replace them with those who can.
how can they not understand this?!!
not rocket science.

foreigners too?

“First and foremost we need the public to drive according to the law. And we need the law to be enforced”
the latter will take care of the former

"During the meeting, the authorities requested that Uber suspend its service nationwide until the results of the study are known but the California-based company rejected the request.
Transport deputy permanent secretary Somsak Hommoung said if Uber refused to suspend its service while the study was being conducted it would make further talks, set for the next one or two months, more complicated"
in a nut shell what is wrong with this country. no teeth

wait so i have to go to driving school to learn how to drive after driving for 30 years? hahahahaha
and it won't make one jot of difference because responsible adults will continue driving safely whilst "real" Thai men will carry on making their own rules

To quote myself here..
I have a friend in udon, known her a few years since she was in college and now shes left schooling and out in the real world shes cute enough to be able to be a very casual FL and use the internet, shes always off to samui, phuket, bangkok etc then back home to the baan..Shes comparison shopping for a husband / support system basically. Having known her a long time we are friends and theres little bullshit needed.
Shes husband hunting but made it clear shes not really interested in a westerner.. All through college she was supported and 'in love' with a young japanese doctor.. Shes been to singapore with a guy for a while and broke up.. Shes working on a taiwanese young guy now.. So to her shes really not even into western tourists as a long term prospect. Shes been to language school learning Japanese and Chinese.. That should tell you how the field is changing.
lol, lots of thai girls would like a japanese/korean/rich asian husband. its not a new phenomenon

These restaurants are also close to where the new Pattaya-Hua Hin ferry docks so perhaps they are planning on redeveloping that whole area??
