  1. The over 60's also not doing well for boosters shots, 8.6% had a booster but the general public have had 11%.
  2. I'm not bashing Thailand, I'm stating facts, testing here is abysmal and always has been. https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus-testing
  3. Even more were not tested at all due to Thailand's pathetic testing numbers
  4. Getting caught up in their own tangled web of lies. It won't be long before the under reporting and under testing is highlighted by a major media outlet.
  5. Creative accounting for saving the sandbox is my guess......................... "Can anyone explain this? In the Top 10, it says 416 cases for Phuket which is only local cases. It doesn’t include 219 from elsewhere. However, Samut Prakan shows 669 cases (352 local cases and 317 from elsewhere). So, why is the Top 10 not showing 635 cases for Phuket? #Thailand" https://twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1480076998185684992
  6. Cyprus reportedly discovers a Covid variant that combines omicron and delta A researcher in Cyprus has discovered a strain of the coronavirus that combines the delta and omicron variant, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday. Leondios Kostrikis, professor of biological sciences at the University of Cyprus, called the strain “deltacron,” because of its omicron-like genetic signatures within the delta genomes, Bloomberg said. So far, Kostrikis and his team have found 25 cases of the virus, according to the report. It’s still too early to tell whether there are more cases of the strain or what impacts it could have. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/01/08/cyprus-reportedly-discovers-a-covid-variant-that-combines-omicron-and-delta.html
  7. Bangkok preps for Omicron surge with ambulance drills, entertainment clampdown Bangkok’s governor has instructed all 50 districts of the capital to make urgent preparations for a surge in Omicron cases. Aswin Kwanmuang ordered district officials to tighten controls on the spread of Covid-19, focusing on entertainment venues, pubs, bars and karaoke outlets. Patients who develop mild symptoms will be treated under Home Isolation,” Bangkok Metropolitan Administration permanent-secretary Khajit Chatchavanich said on Saturday. “They will receive a thermometer, fingertip oximeter, anti-fever Fah Talai Jone pills and other drugs," he explained. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40010881
  8. Oh dear, not looking good for the school situation here. Still restaurants and bars open for the tourists and locals, forget the kids who live here and deserve an education.
  9. Maybe you missed the crowd of actual infected people, looked mostly Thai (didn't notice and fat ones) being transported off who were next to all those waiting for PCR tests for test and go on the building site? Never seen that in my local bank.
  10. Those getting treated in real hospitals has gone up significantly over the last week and at 29,643 now although ICU and those ventilated have continued a small decrease. Over the coming weeks lets see how that compares with the Delta peak. 9th Jan 22 Real Hospitals: 29,643 ICU: 484 Ventilated: 113 17th August 21 Real Hospitals: 54,939 ICU: 5,536 Ventilated: 1,169
  11. As a side note, forget Chinese visitors in Thailand for a while. Officials in the Chinese city of #Tianjin say they have confirmed some of the new infections there are of the #OmicronVariant. City-wide mass testing has started. #China With Olympics only 3 or 4 weeks away.....lol
  12. Looks like no new OP's today so here's the latest official numbers. Thailand's unique method for flattening the epidemic curve. PCR test positive cases, total of 8,511 official new infections. 12 official covid deaths recorded. Rapid tests positive cases, 1,265 bringing the total of PCR and ATK results to 9,776 https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/ Rolling 7 day average chart (up to 7th Jan) https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus/country/thailand
  13. Thailand's more amazing than that, its actually gone down when you count the ATK results. 8th Jan: ATK + PCR = 10,029 9th Jan: ATK + PCR = 9,776
  14. Well they better get busy doing full genomic sequencing then. Strange the PCR tests in Thailand cannot detect the S gene drop out but they do in other countries
  15. According to this from the Thai Consulate in New York there is no cut off date. Confusion still reigns. The Royal Thai Consulate General in New York posted the latest on travelling to Thailand on Saturday. Those who obtained the Thailand Pass for the Test & Go scheme by registering before December 22 will be qualified for a one-day quarantine provided their Covid-19 test is negative upon arrival. There is no restriction on the date of arrival. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40010852
  16. We already know what number they have planned for tomorrow, it is 9,508 but a mistake was made on dates and it was released early. No doubt they'll need to change that now to another more feasible one....lol
  17. The message still has to be get jabbed and boosted despite these suggestions although it seems to be a good estimate at the moment for the UK "Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz, an epidemiologist at the University of Wollongong in Australia, told MailOnline his 'very rough best guess' was that triple-jabbed people were at the same risk from Omicron as they are from the flu. 'Add the new medications into the mix and it gets even more complex,' he added. But scientists today leaped on the estimates, saying it was more proof that the worst days of the pandemic were over and that Britain needs to get back on the path to normality. Professor Robert Dingwall, a former JCVI member of and expert in sociology at Nottingham Trent University, told MailOnline it will be a few weeks until there are definitive Omicron fatality rates, but if they are consistent with the findings that it is less severe 'we should be asking whether we are justified in having any measures we would not bring for a bad flu season'." https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10358361/Omicron-nearly-100-TIMES-deadly-seasonal-flu-scientists-believe.html
  18. ???? Get the watering cans out to kill Omicron Thai News Reports: Phuket authorities organised a Big Cleaning Day activity yesterday along a 350 metre stretch of road in Phuket Old Town to prevent #COVID19 and to build confidence among tourists. #Thailand https://twitter.com/ThaiNewsReports/status/1479630201285980163
  19. No, a miracle has happened, the announced figures today were just 847. The Thai PBS article is dated 7th Jan
  20. A bit of confusion this morning when the number of new cases released by the CCSA (8,263) didn’t match the dashboard of the Department of Disease Control (9,508). The DDC has since reduced their number to match that of the CCSA. Makes you wonder which one is correct. #Thailand https://twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1479629593988370434
  21. How convenient for them. So the B.P. article will also have to follow suit: Here's the adjusted graph: PCR test positive cases, total of 8,263 official new infections. 14 official covid deaths recorded. Rapid tests positive cases, 1,766 bringing the total of PCR and ATK results to 10,029 https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/
  22. Yesterday the Chonburi new case numbers was 1,342. Today they really expect us to believe it has gone down to 847.
  23. B.P. is also confirming official numbers as 9,508 same as the Official dashboard.
  24. PCR test positive cases, total of 9,508 official new infections. 14 official covid deaths recorded. Rapid tests positive cases, 1,766 bringing the total of PCR and ATK results to 11,274 https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/ Rolling 7 day average chart (up to 6th Jan) https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus/country/thailand
  25. They need to sort out what numbers they want to make official, some announcements are saying 8,263 but the "Official" dashboard is saying 9,508 https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/
