Well done Thailand ( well Chiang Mai really) you nearly made it to Thailand,s Got Talent, I have to say that I am impressed and I hope that the courtesy spreads around the country. ????

He's lucky he didn't flip over the barrier to Hades below, that clip should be run on prime time TV forever and a day to show these Muppets what happens when they act stupid like this, I guess he still has monthly payments to meet on his car, JERK.

I would love to see someone take a sample and get it checked by an out of country organisation, I would think the results would be horrendous.

Err, where exactly are you ? That would be a good start, and then what sort of food you looking for ? Price range £? ££? £££? ££££?
Your question is ambiguous to say the least.

Mabprachan lake that feeds Pattaya it's water could do with a top up, I haven't seen it this low for at least 5 years, but like this last one we will get passed by with some fontok ploy ploy, (many apologies for the spelling, it's sort of phonetic)

I was in a bar yesterday that I have been drinking in since 2010 and before, it has been renovated a little bit, yesterday there were 4 customers in there, I was in there for 3 hours, probably more staff than customers, very sad.
The majority of customers would be golfers and of Aussie & Kiwi extraction with a smattering of Europeans.

So the left hand is giving 1,000 baht to promote domestic tourism while the right hand is doing TM30 fines to discourage domestic tourism.

My thoughts exactly as I was reading it, and I'm with you with the Heavy sigh & shaking head.

That's the problem here, it's either famine or feast, in some areas there has been no rain for months hence a drought, now it is tipping down in those drought affected areas and what happens ? The much needed H2O is just left to run away or flood vast areas with no hope of capture and storage for future use.
It's been happening since time immemorial
Totally pathetic.

I think the balloon value is if you buy the vehicle on either a lease or HP it will be the final payment, so say 36 months at x x x x Baht with a final payment of x x x x Baht, usually quite high.
I could be wrong but that's my thinking on it, as for year of manufacture - No Idea.

Workers were dispatched to dredge drainage pipes and clear away water hyacinths, while official were on an around-the-clock watch for flooding especially of the at-risk roads of Sri Ping Muang, Chang Klan and Suthep (near Ton Payom Market), he added.
So, they wait until the storm is literally on top of them and then clear drainage pipes and clear away water hyacinths !! Way to go guys, good forward planning skills

I used the agents next to Big C on the Suckhamvit rd, can't remember the name, very efficient, take a couple of Passport photos with you, sign the forms, they fill them in for you, then sit back and relax, they do the 2 runs to BKK for you, and when you get your Passport(s) back you also have the Embassy letter to take to immigration to get the stamps moved, and should you need your passport during the process they have it in their safe so a quick call and you're good to go. 5k Baht, very good value for money.

i have been watching Thai radar for about 5 years now and i have learned a lot in the past 24 hours why it does NOT rain as much in Hua Hin as the rest of the country watching the local radar.
It's not raining just over the water from you here in Patts, the inlaws in Chanthaburi seem to be getting it worse, hopefully they won't lose anymore trees.

Poor driving habits and motorcycles with children feature in many of the nation's road casualties.
Maybe The Nation could start a campaign along with other media to get the government (I use that term very loosely) to wake up to this problem with driving standards over here, a bit like the UK media does on a number of issues ??

You could try looking here, they also have a FaceBook page. Pattaya International Ladies Club.

I still have an adventurous spirit...many places on my list of things to see in Thailand...TM30 has definitely caused me to pause and rethink my stay in this kingdom...
The world is still open for business and not as oppressive as Thailand has become...
Me Too, fortunately me & Mrs managed to travel the length & breadth of Thailand before all us expats were criminalised by the ruling elite and effectively discouraged from exploring other parts of this once friendly country, I have spent a fortune staying in small to medium sized family run resorts and hotels, I'm done now, I'll go and sit on the patio and watch the weeds grow, a lot less hassle ????

My bank sent it to my Thai address in a simple envelope. It had to be activated,so there's no problem if it got lost on the way.
And that is exactly my situation, I need to go online and activate my card so I don't understand how a shipper/carrier can at the point of exit, in my case UK, then turn round and say sorry prohibited goods !! Doesn't make sense to me. but hey ho, my daughter has it back now and will use Royal Mail international tracked ????

Even Pakistan had its good points but is unbearable now. Many of us stayed in Afghanistan but its ruined now. Tehran was party central with girls, booze, dope, opium, hash, caviar, french champagne, russian vodka...but thats gone to the dogs too and Thailand is going that way now because it has become a tourist destination. I can relate the decline of Thailand to the rate of bars showing footie on telly and the advent of rap and handsup music. The massed hordes of Chinese tourist is off putting but I remember Koh Pang Am 29 years ago was horribly crowded with backpackers and faux hippies. I too am glad I got a lot of travelling done when i was younger and that i got 60 days paid holiday a year in Thailand for ten years before I retired here 4 years ago. My work also took me to Saudi, Libya Burma, Singapore, Kuwait, and Tunisia. I lived in and out of Spain and Portugal for years and had a great tine. Holland and France are quick to get to but Now im looking to the balkanss for European fun and west africa for warmer climes. The new bureaucratic hell that Thailand has become and the masses of asian grockle tourists from China, Pakistan and india have robbed Thailand if its charm. That being said Issan is not a tourist ghetto....yet.
I have to agree with you, unfortunately the ' Connected World ' has ruined each and every special place on the planet.
I was still serving in HM Army patrolling the wild streets of Belfast back in 73 but as soon as I left the army in about 82 I wanted to travel, I had a PSV license ( that's coaches & buses to you lot unfamiliar with the term) and managed to get myself a job taking happy holiday makers to places like Rovinj in the former Yugoslavia (as it was then) and a place called Bibione' just outside Venice.
Prior to that I had already covered the most of mainland Europe while in the army, so places like Greece & it's Islands, Turkey, Austria and a whole lot of other places were ripe for discovery, even Spain, if you got away from the likes of Benidorm etc were a treasure up in the mountains, I have always loved to travel and have tried to do as much as I could with the ex wife.
Then Thailand hit my radar, 15 or more years ago it was fun and mostly unfettered by regulations, now it's a pain in the butt at times, and I do think about moving on, unfortunately that would mean a massive upheavel in my life as I have a longtime G/F who I know would be devastated if I just up sticks and left, so that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
I'm not trapped but I am, I hope you can understand that, I can't leave my G/F of nearly 10 years just because of carp from the junta, I will stick it out and hopefully will come up trumps in the end.

I signed up for Big C in Pattaya, I tried a test shop and couldn't find most of the products I was looking for, ie: Dairy, fresh meat, bakery etc etc, I used to use Tesco's & Sainsbury's in the UK and get everything I needed, haven't bothered since, just let the Mrs go, I get peace and quiet and she battles the traffic, result. ????

Us the web site on your PC https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/
I have just had a look at that, thank you, I tried to register on my tablet a week or so ago but think I messed it up, what is a house ID No. ? I have no idea so left the field blank and when I tried to submit the request it was saying 1 field still needed to be completed, also do I need to only provide copies of my passport & my rental contract and list myself as the 'possessor'?
Meeting with Immigration a missed opportunity
