My first bike was horrid , my mum found it somewhere , noisy exhaust , certainly not , the less I got noticed the better.. What was it ..................a James Comet , 98cc , 2 speed , 20mph in first 40 in second , about every 10 miles the plug would whisker up , really horrid , my next bike was an Ariel Colt , 200cc , 4 speed box ,lovely little bike , cost me a fiver in 1963.

and what is that all about with false exhausts , you see them on Yaris ' , that board with 4 round chrome things , supposed to look like real exhausts. Does the owner think ' That will impress other Yaris owners when they see my fake exhasts ' .

My Norton had a Gold Star silencer that had burnt on Castrol R on it. It sounded lovely enough to annoy my dad. My hooligan big bro. on his Goldie now says ' Hanging is too good for people with noisy bikes '.
But as we age I dislike loud noise of any kind. My Norton . brothers Goldie circa 1965.

Great stuff. About 50 years ago we did odd things when a mini crisis arose. In Sussex the local brew house was inundated with water , no one could get in to stop the malt from malting. The Grenadier Arms was selling very dark beer for a week or two , so muchh better than the filtered river water called lager we get here.
I only found out yesterday beer is made with hops ale is not. I need a ride out ..................................

6 of us are eating and will be having a glass or two of Red following a beer or two right opposite one of those police box things where the BiB come outside for a smoke and where the nicked worn out scootes lay.
The chap who owns the restaurant must be a pal of plod. We do this several times a year.

I would look at the Honda Forza. A lot depends though on your size and physical condition; don't buy one that doesn't feel comfortable to sit on and get on & off the centre stand. Could you pick it up if you dropped it?I have a Forza , brilliant , lots of grunt , twist and go . At 74 yo and in this heat I don't need to adjust/oil any chains . Took it in to GWH this very morning for a 50,000k service.
Something cost 210 B something else 10 something else was 120., oh and 1 more thing was 20 B. Total 360.
Next service in 3.000 K. Great fun .
