  1. I know as does the rest of Thailand.
  2. It will not be a year and it will not be jail. Deal has now been done. There will be no change to 112 and a new constitution will be put off for as long as possible.
  3. If it's reduced to medical then every shop will go out of business and only the monopolies, duopolies or oligopies along with their mates in the government will benefit financially.
  4. The plan is moving along. The only hiccup was Pita and MFP and they have been dealt with albeit meaning PT jumped into bed with their enemies.
  5. Immune escape is likely but that's been the case and will continue to be the case. As for the mutations I've seen that it is only on the spike protien. Will this one become the dominat sub-variant or not only time will tell. Other sub-variants have come and gone pretty much in a blink of an eye never gaining dominance.
  6. I haven't had a jab since oct 2021 and do not intend to be jabbed again. As for maks I have recently been on a plane. No mask. Been to immigration. No mask. Been to a medical clinic. No mask. Been to the bank. No mask etc etc. Oh! Forgot to mention been to Laos and nobody was wearing a mask.
  7. Just another Omicron sub-variant. Very few cases globably. Yes it has subtatial spike protien mutations but every sub-variant has mutations that's why they're called sub-variants. Can you explain to us why this "may be" of concern?
  8. Well it's been a while. Time for the next article recommending getting jabbed. This variant is just another Omicron variant so you would expect similar symtoms i.e. symptoms akin to the common cold. This thing will probablly go on for decades continuing to mutate or until it mutates to a point it is no longer highly transmissible and dies out. Some of the most vulnerable will succumb but the vast majority who get infected will recover with a % not even knowing they've had it i.e. asymptomatic.
  9. Good point but nevertheless it's still a good indicator. I'd be interested to know what % of tourists overall use AirBnB and villas. I'm guessing that % would be quite high amongst the Russians.
  10. The coup has already happened. It's called a soft coup. The change people voted for has been usurped. Democracy has been stifled by the military elites and with them in the same bed PT.
  11. It won't be long. After the next election I would think when MFP gains an absolute majority and can form a govt in it's own right. PT will be decimated, the military elites have already been decimated and the only way they can keep power is by a coup. Thailand is not a democratic country and never will be as long as certain powers hold the reigns.
  12. How can you possibly say this after what has happened. The voting public elected MFP. MFP have the largest amount of seats in the Housre of Reps than any other single party. The people voted and MFP came out on top. The people wanted change and wanted Pita as PM. 250 senators, the EC and the CC all constructs of Prayuts junta usurped the people's voice. Maybe you can explain how this is a major move toward democracy.
  13. Got things done alright. Some of those "things he got done" are no longer with us i.e. dissappeared. One did turn up in the Mekong with cement in his belly. There are other cases. Yes I am well aware Thaksin did the extra-judicial drug killings. I hate both of them.
  14. Well that makes two jail birds in the cabinet. Thamanat Prompow being the other. 4 yrs in an Aussie prison (sentence was 6 yrs.) for conspiring to import heroin into Australia. Obviously not as serious as having a miniscule amount of shares in a non-functioning media business.
  15. This is sarcasim isn't it? I hope so otherwise I feel you may be deluded. Money for major projects yes. Money for people not so much. Kickbacks for the major projects would have been huge. He's as corrupt as the day is long.
  16. Outgoing PM and Coup Leader would be more appropriate. Seems they forgot this part, apart from everything else he's done to usurp democracy and free speach in this country.
  17. There are "visitors" and there are "tourists". How many "visitors" are coming here to work. How about some figures (not inflated) on hotel occupancy. More rubbery figures from the propoganda 101 book.
  18. Too late to edit my above post but I do give some drivers a small tip at the end of the fare if it's been a good journey. Just round it up a bit i.e. bt95 fare I'll give them Bt100. Definitely not tipping the way it's stated in the OP.
  19. You're dead right about the hit and miss aspect. Cars certainly vary but if you're patient or have enough time you can wait for a newer model. As for drivers that's another matter but I would say this is the same globally. I've been in taxis with absolute madmen behind the wheel to an old fella actually falling asleep at the lights in heavy traffic to really good drivers. Taxis are always luck of the draw.
  20. I think most of these are quite reasonable. Tipping isn't. Stopping at ATM? Well I've been in taxis that need to fuel up. They do stop the meter and it's just a bit of bad luck for me but it happens so stopping at an ATM I can't see a problem as the driver will leave the meter ticking over. Telling the driver where you want to go before you get in? I always do this as it's the Thai way. Not a problem. Turning up the air conditioning? Well sometimes I have to ask them to turn it on nevermind turn it up. Other times I've asked to have it turned down because it's freezing. (I'm Australian so I sit in the front). Charging your phone? IMHO this is not good form and personally I have never and will never ask for this. Loudspeaker on phone? I agree but how often do the drivers do this? Driving when on the phone is rife in this country taxi drivers included. Stopping to pick up friends? Can't see a problem as long as the meter is running. Stopping to pick up items? I think most drivers wouldn't have a problem as long as the meters ticking over. Asking for songs or borrowing money from the driver? Both seem somewhat a bit of a stretch from reality. So, yes I agree with some of this but a lot isn't the reality of how things go BUT not tipping. NO WAY.
  21. Nup. It's because they are now seen as traitors. Simple as. They jumped into bed with their enemies and will pay the price.
  22. The puppeteer has filled many pockets. You say "There are plenty Salim who are too rich to bribe who still hate him." They are corrupt. They will take money from anywhere and anyone. This is why we are we are now. Complete and utter corruption. 3rd world politics.
  23. This is terrible. The man is sick and should be sent to home detention. It would be interesting of course to know the death rate of prisoners in jail every year, month, week or day and how many have been helicoptered to hospital. It's all part of the deal.
