Your confusing the daily sales hours prohibition with the religious sales prohibition. No problem. piss weak covers both just as well. -
Pattaya Prepares for Silent Night: Alcohol Ban Hits Tourists

Issan. Heard of it and please don't push your morals on other people. You're entitled to live your alcohol free life as others are entitled to drink alcohol and yes people can drink alcohol on the big religious holidays. It seems that your alcohol free existence has made you a particularly nasty person. Your language certainly supports this assumption. You're not a bot are you? I mean that would explain it. -

Been years since I've been there. I live in the real Thailand. If I was to guess I would say you've been imbibing somewhat liberally yourself today if not you should be. -
Pattaya Prepares for Silent Night: Alcohol Ban Hits Tourists

Did I say it was. I said it's part of Thai culture. Get off your pious high horse. Sadly you are one of the pea brains who thinks anyone who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic. You must be a barrel of laughs to be around I'm sure. "Types like you". LOL. How very sanctimonious of you. Maybe you should run a survey and see how many people on this forum have a drink or two on these ridiculous buying booze ban days. Give other foreigners a bad name. Mate you're not right in the head. -
Yep. These have always been Putin demands. It's not called negotiation for nothing. Let's see what happens rather flying into the usual anti-Trump rhetoric so prevalent on this forum from the bitter Biden/Harris/election losers fan boys. I doubt Ukraine will be demilitarized but elections in Ukraine will need to be held, NATO is off the cards (for now) and Putin will keep the majority of territory captured but will need to agree to no expansionism. These will be some of the negotiating points. Again it's a negotiation and you like the rest of the neigh sayers on here should be hoping that piece can be initiated. Biden did nothing. Didn't even get on the phone to Putin. Everyone knew that Russia was going to invade and Biden with his neo-con, war mongering mates allowed it to happen.
-
Again I ask you what is the solution then? You seem to think you're pretty smart so tell us. What other way do you think an end to the war could be brought about? Do you think Putin will just hand back all land captured and make it a Zelenskyy victory? Instead of just coming out against anything and everything Trump is doing how about applying some rational thought to your posts. As for the war best to remember who was the POTUS when it started.
-
Interesting to see what will happen. The war will be brought to an end and when it is the Trump haters will need to change tack a bit. Basically Russia will gain territory, Ukraine will lose territory, Ukraine will not be allowed to join NATO, The US will secure Ukraine, Ukraine will pay back their debt to the US in precious metals and the death and carnage will come to an end. Anyone who thinks Putin isn't in a position of bargaining strength has their head firmly stuck up their RS. As it stands Ukraine holds around 400 km2 (Kursk) and Russia has taken over 100,000 km2 and continues to take more as Ukraine is losing territory previously taken in Kursk.

I try to assimilate as much as I can. This means drinking beer with Thai friends on religious days. Be disrespectful not to. Part of Thai culture is offering a drink to someone. Of course you wouldn't know this. -
Obviously you open with a denial which is predictable but if you think kickbacks weren't involved you're deluded. Strange how you say "if true" but won't say this is a total waste of tax payer's money funded by the Biden administration. Receipts have been and continue to be found. Deny all you want it won't change the fact that DOGE is uncovering massive amounts of waste..

Programs relying on tax payers money such as https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/02/at-usaid-waste-and-abuse-runs-deep/ $1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities” $70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland $2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam $47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia $32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru $2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab “Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria” Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban

And a lot more see it as a day off (if not the weekend) to relax with family and friends whist sharing food and drinking alcohol. Doesn't mean they don't do the merit thing but obviously both things can be done in a day. Indeed go to temple, stop at a shop on the way back to buy beer or whatever and then sit around and eat and drink. This is what happens all over Thailand. If you think this isn't the reality then you either don't live here, haven't lived here long, never experienced real Thailand outside of the tourist traps or live some sort of extremely sheltered and boring life. -

I see but it's ok for Thais to drink on these days. I'd love to see you tell a Thai they are an alcoholic and being disrespectful. Strict alcohol rules. LOL. So on one of these days if a Thai offers me a glass of beer I must say no then? "Sorry I am a guest (>20yrs with family) and it would be disrespectful." What particular version of reality are you living in. -
I guarantee this is a very popular move. Odd how this is the only thing you could respond to from my post. Nothing to say about men out of woman's sports, only two genders, DOGE finding billions of misspent/wasted taxpayer's money , illegals being deported and substantial tightening of the borders then.
-
And I guess idiots will continue to call them idiot policies even when they work. No men in women's sports. Is this an idiot policy? Two genders not two thousand. Idiot policy? Billions of dollars being found that are either fraudulent, wasteful or both. Idiot policy? Substantial tightening of the borders. Idiot policy? Criminal illegal immigrants now being deported. Idiot policy? And now for the big one. No more paper straws. Only an idiot would call this an idiot policy surely.

What's The Best Kind of Chicken?
dinsdale replied to short-Timer's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Relax man. Jeez. As for roasting being incorrect there is such a thing as a roasting chicken as opposed to a broiling chicken. Roast chicken/roasted chicken/roasting chicken. Broil chicken/broiled chicken/broiling chicken or a broiler. So the question you asked is "what's the best kind of chicken?" a roasting chicken in this sense is not grammatically incorrect. -

I know what roosting is. You include roost but not roast. One vowel makes all the difference, -
Thai Baht Set to Weaken as US Tariff Tensions Escalate

I'm confused. Wasn't there an article not too long ago saying Baht strengthening because of tariffs?
