Hot, hot, hot – Phuket Airport passengers complain about ‘hot’ terminal
25c sounds good to me. Airports are more often than not too cold anyways.

Dual pricing coming?
where else does this? It's so clearly discriminatory, insulting and no way to treat a guest. Tourists get same prices in national parks in the US and certainly never heard of any dual pricing anywhere let alone hotels. If some EU country did this it would be blatantly against the spirit of their union.

Thailand: "Discrimination now, discrimination tomorrow, discrimination forever!"

I’m having bouts of Anxiety – Need advice .
I have the same thing but let me ask, are those real problems you need to resolve? For me they're actually problems I need to fix them or otherwise find some compromise. I get as much exercise as my legs can handle (cyclist) but that's not a solution to anything except feeling good.

If Thailand refused you, where would you live? And why?
Trying to get Thai's to comply with strict driving standards would require a colonial government. I've totally given up them ever changing unless they're invaded and their government totally replaced.

Casual observations /questions from a newly arrived Farang from America
Thai food is loaded with lowest grade cooking oils and has little protein, thus the cheap price. I eat a Thai food diet but these are not good things. Some people today blocked off a road which a bridge and there was no other way around except a 20 minutes detour. Do they care? Of course not, that's just how people are here. Don't care, it's your problem.

I’m having bouts of Anxiety – Need advice .
Sometimes in the early morning hours, like 4 or 5 I wake up and feel anxiety about things in my life not going like I want. When I wake up later I'm usually fine however and go on my day as usual. The lesson here I think is that we DO have problems in our lives and we need to actually fix them otherwise we know subconsciously things are not well and we worry. I think this our body working correctly and we need to heed the advice.

true but the bad police are a reflection of the people not caring about respectful driving.

That makes sense. The weather in the north was shocking better than Thailand, I would have never guessed. I don't think I could stand those people and their pushing and shoving and honking behavior. Such a pity.

Exactly, they have no manners when out in public. In private they're all manors though and it's very tedious actually. All the Americans I know and have ever lived with are descended from English, Scottish, Irish and German (some nordics too but much less), which are not known to be friendly people. The people in the midwest (I think maybe Nordics and Germanic) are extremely polite and outgoing I have a "Yeah, I'm from Ohio" shirt which I got second hand because I liked the fabric and ever year when I'm back visiting Colorado some people from Ohio notice it and strike up a conversion with me. Such nice people. Never do you see Thai people making banter with each other in public like that. It feels like the jungle in Thai society, every man for himself, me first! etc... Some prick yesterday cut across the street from a parking place and cut me off while I was turning at a traffic light. This is common behavior over here.

am I only the only person that thought Vietnamese people were a little aggressive and not very friendly? I only visited Hanoi and they weren't pleasant at all. The honking by itself was enough to keep me away from there anyways. Maybe the south is nicer. Honestly I don't even consider Thai people that friendly, compared to Americans at least. I don't know why they get that reputation honestly. They smile back at you is all I can think of.

Where should I go next?
In fact I have a story about it. So here's a crappy picture of the gates from Google during March when it's all dried out but today it was lush green and beautiful. Everything covered in moss including the road. Some absolute bunch of morons parked their truck right at the apex of that hill right in the middle of the road. The road is extremely steep and you can't stop on it but we are able to just barely slip our car into the woods on the side of the road until they came out and left. I went walking in deeper with my dog to look for them but when I came back they were just getting into their truck and driving off before I wasn't able to run quick enough to ask them what the hell they were thinking. Sadly my wife was in the car and she didn't have the good sense to yell at them either. <deleted> idiots almost got us in trouble and all because they were too stupid and lazy to park properly. Only in Thailand.

Where should I go next?
I can see that but the lake is very nice and the valley itself has tons of great views but it's extremely rural unless that's your thing. Today on the way back home I stopped up at this temple deep back in the forest and it has a really great view of the lake and city. Extremely pretty with steep and narrow winding roads. Worth checking out if you're ever passing by.

Where should I go next?
yeah so there were lots of resorts in this one little mountain top but after that it was very sparse indeed. We traveled from CM to Phu Lanka, which was about 6 hours and then we stayed in Phayao one night on the way back just to break it up. Next time will stay there again and go on to Nan to find the next rest stop.

Where should I go next?
Over the weekend I went to the Phu Langka Resort which was right on the Phayao-Nan border. Lovely quiet place with views for miles. Mist in the mornings and cool temps in the low 20s. Certainly will be going back later and exploring more.

Where should I go next?
I already told you to go to Nan, it's spectacularly beautiful in the surrounding mountains. Get a bike of some kind and start riding around.

American Tourist Arrested for Stabbing Incident in Chiang Mai
I just checked and yes you're right. Makes perfect sense, why use a knife when you have a gun? https://www.statista.com/statistics/195325/murder-victims-in-the-us-by-weapon-used/

Family Holiday Turns Tragic: 8 Dead and 3 Critically Injured in Horrific Accident
Thai's don't know how close they get to dying when on the roads and when it finally happens it's a big shock to them. Sad but they will never learn. At least they didn't get another family killed too.

Expats seeking a new life face challenges with stricter banking and taxation rules being pushed
not liking the food of a country is a serious problem. Are you going to prepare all your meals at home yourself? A pleasure of Thailand is having so much good food easily available.

Expats seeking a new life face challenges with stricter banking and taxation rules being pushed
The deal was you paid your visa fee and now are spending money in the local economy so why do they need more money? Seems like a money grab from greedy government officials.

Then you haven't been paying attention. The point is you're killing the planet so give us all your money and stop complaining about being poor.- You have less than 10 years?
sure, but what I mean here is that they are extremely dismissive of dying before their perceived best case scenario based on their current health etc... I visit my Mom and step dad every year for about 2 months and it's important for my own planning to know they won't be around at some point in the next 10 years, which is why I bring it up. I would have spent more time with my Dad if i knew he would be dead at 68 but I was assured that's "too young to die". Yeah right.- You have less than 10 years?
But we know average life expectancy right? Why after all those years of life experience is lying to yourself a good idea? I respect people who are honest about their life. My uncle says he's 100% ready to go any day (early 70s now) but my Mom is in denial about dying any time soon (early 70s too!). I respect my uncle more for being honest. - Expats seeking a new life face challenges with stricter banking and taxation rules being pushed
