Anyone can make an IQ test and there's many proxies. Working backwards from the chart I posted, career itself is a proxy for IQ. Consider the fact the brain an organ and has a function like every other organ in the body. The idea is to make a test which measures the function of this organ.

That's the thing with Dunning-Kruger, you don't know you're experiencing it by definition.

Here is a really interesting case of low IQ I saw on X. This girl makes a video explaining how she doesn't understand that 4+4=8 but 5+5=10. She was very smug about it and said no one could give her a good answer. It's hard to get inside her head but the idea seems to be that 4 and 5 are 1 unit apart but when added together the difference becomes 2. Where did the extra 1 come from? My best guess is that she doesn't understand that the numbers represent single units so the addition expands to be 4+4=1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1

I had to ask ChatGPT how to determine the percent of a normal distribution based on a standard deviation of 15. That was the answer it gave and showed the formulas. Why doesn't that apply to IQ? Here's is the output: To find the percentage of the population at or above 100 on a normal distribution with: Mean (μ) = 89 Standard deviation (σ) = 15 We are looking for the probability that a value is ≥ 100 Step 1: Convert to Z-score Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma} = \frac{100 - 89}{15} = \frac{11}{15} \approx 0.733 Step 2: Use the Z-score to find the percentile From the Z-table or using a standard normal distribution calculator: The area to the left of Z = 0.733 is approximately 0.7673 Step 3: Subtract from 1 to get the upper tail P(X \geq 100) = 1 - 0.7673 = 0.2327 ✅ Final Answer: Approximately 23.27% of the population has an IQ at or above 100 when the distribution has a mean of 89 and standard deviation of 15.

You really think Thailand has an average IQ higher than Switzerland? Why haven't they had any meaningful impact on the world of science, engineering or medicine? Why aren't French and Italians sending their kids to school in Thailand then?

To put this in better perspective an IQ of 100 is higher than 75% of the population, or only 25% of the population has an IQ of 100 or higher. This means only 25% of the population of Thailand has roughly the same intelligence (IQ) as a white European.

The median Thai person has roughly the same mental faculties as a white/European janitor. It's very important to know this if you are to understand the country and why things operate like they do.

Report Phuket to Introduce Cannabis Zones Amid Growing Concerns
NorthernRyland replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Dope smokers and the general population usually don't have much overlap so this is good policy to keep those two groups separated. How can Thailand attract higher earning tourists if when they arrived they're dumped into a 20-something dope smoking party town? Even worse than that they may arrive and think their plan landed in Mumbai by accident. -
Literally today I got some chopped fried chicken with bone fragments. It's a 5 star chicken run by a village woman. I was looking to get the fastest thing possible so I got "Khao Man Gai" with the fried chicken. She must have run out of breast pieces and threw in some random chunks. I tried to pull off some of the meat but still got bone fragments. Look at how the bones were cut right though. Nasty. This is pretty normal for very "northern" people. Try buying some of the various foods in bags at the market and you'll often find pieces of chicken (or fish) where they hack it up at random angles without any care. I rate that meal 0.5/5.

Using ChatGPT? It might make you stupid, study finds

If you don't use it you lose it. Offload enough of your thinking to a computer and will forget how to think. -
I thought this was already settled.

Your attitude seems to be "everyone else is stupid and doing it wrong except me". Come on this is just trolling now. -

No, they transfer over the living expenses for the month and let her buy things they need, pay rent, bills etc... This isn't even just Thailand, it's done everywhere. -

It's called a marriage. Women handles the bills and ordering things etc... and the man earns the money. They like having control over the money and getting to spend it so unless they're abusing the situation and buying things they shouldn't what's the problem?- 107 replies
