I like to oversize using inverter AC. For 3 rooms, a total of 96 sq. mt. I have 3 Hitachi inverter AC each 18,000 BTU, one in each room. When I come home, on a hot sweltering evening with sweat dripping, all 3 get flashed, and 20 minutes later the place is down to 25c. The inverters are full power initially and then throttle back, both fan and compressor, when the desired temperature is reached and eventually, 1 or 2 are turned off, depending on the ambient heat coming from the walls and outside air. In the bedroom, 32 sq. mt., night-time sleeping temperature is 23c, and one 18K BTU does a nice job. Quick to initially cool and maintain a nice temperature all night. On cool nights, the compressor turns off, on hot nights, it just throttles back to a low setting. Got to keep it cool so the girlfriend snuggles up to the hot man.

That Lt-Gen Manus, who was the top sacrificial lamb, has died in prison. This conveniently cuts the pipeline/trail of funds to the higher ups. Manus was quoted as saying "when everything was going well all was shared but when the problem arose, he was the only one with the problem". Silence of the lambs.

Efforts Underway to Prevent Further Leaks of Underwater Oil Pipeline
Banana7 replied to snoop1130's topic in Eastern Thailand
That pipeline should be shutdown permanently. Apparently it is made of plastic. -
Apparently, in Thai social media, the story doesn't end as stated here. The reason Paween's life was endanger, he tried to resign but his resignation was refused, and was given 2 choices. Neither would allow him to be alive today (based on previous people given the same choices), so he fled Thailand the next day. The path of payoffs and permissions led to another general who is currently part the government with lots of watches and to the top, higher than elected officials.

The Nissan Note was coming into the intersection from Chaiyaphruek road. The motorcycles were turning from beach road up into Chaiyaphruek road. I didn't see the moment of impact, but I heard it. I suspect the Nissan wanted to turn left onto Beach Road, but was in the right hand lane on Chaiyaphruek road, racing through the red light, the light turned green for the MCs, one slammed into the left side of the Note, the other veered to the left while in the turn and was hit by the white pickup truck, who was making a left turn to go up Chaiyaphruek road. The Note lost control after the MC impact, and slammed into the pole, air bags deployed.

White truck also sustained damage, was hauled away by flatbed tow truck. 1 MC in the middle of the road, 1 MC at the right curb. Please examine in detail!

Well, car, truck, and 2 motorcycles is more than the usual. Usually only 1 or 2 vehicles.

Around 4:15 pm Sunday Jan. 6, 2022 at the intersection of Jomtien Beach Road and Chaiyaphruek road. Several people were injured. The photos show 3 injured people, one on the sidewalk, 2 on the road. Nissan Note looks in bad shape.

If there is no cover-up, let's see the video from the cross walk cameras, that shows the moment of impact! Release the video to all news media and let's see what public thinks about the RTP and their lack of enforcing traffic laws. This matter is not just about one accident, it's also about the entire RTP. If the RTP had been their job, this person probably would still be alive today. Shame on RTP and shame on that Police Chief. Also that bike was supposed to be in a police impound. Is the person who released the bike also going to be charged?

In addition to having a 1 year visa, now that visa has to be valid for a minimum of 3 months at the time of application. The attached document from Pattaya City Hall states the requirements for a yellow book. A friend went to Pattaya City Hall attempting to obtain a yellow book for a condo he owns and lives in. The department that issues the yellow book had been closed in January, due to Covid, and re-opened Feb. 1, 2022. My friend's visa was only valid 2.5 months as at the date of initial application. He had visited the office in January, when his visa had more than 3 months, only to learn the office was closed until Feb. He asked for an exception from the big boss, since he visited the office in January and it was closed, but no sympathy or flexibility. He has to return after renewing his 1 year visa.

The phuket taxi mafia is really gouging tourists. A friend ordered a Grab taxi, cost for the trip was 160 baht, but he wouldn't come, too scared of the local mafia. Local taxi mafia wanted 600 baht for the same trip. After 2 years of very few or basically no tourists, it seems the taxi mafia want to make-up for lost profits. Phuket is definitely a place to avoid even if you get a cheap flight to it.

Attached is letter from Pattaya property tax collector stating they will be sending residential property tax bills in February and payment is due in April. If you don't get one, your taxes will still be due in April. In past years, the tax payment office in Pattaya city hall is usually very very busy, with long lines in March and April . If you are a foreigner and want to avoid property taxes on your condo, which is worth less than 10,000,000 baht (as determined by the land office), get a yellow house book. The owner must be registered in the house book before January 1 of the tax year, to avoid property taxes. Thai owners should be registered in the blue house book. Also inform the tax department of your registration in the house book to avoid issues.

Extended retirement visa today. Arrived at 07:40, about 25 people were already in line. Got into the building 08:45, the outside queue at this time had about 120 people, some standing in the sun, not enough space under the tents. Processing was fast once inside but there were some surprises. Last year, TM30 proof of address was adequate, this year TM30 not adequate, a copy of chanote and blue book was sufficient to satisfy proof of address. Next, original bank books had to be shown and were examined in detail. Last year the bank letter and photo copy of bank book transactions for the last 3 months was adequate. Also needed, prior bank book since the new book did not show 12 months of transactions, and a photo copy of the old book name page and last page of transactions. I recommend arriving early, definitely before 08:00, and bringing good proof of address and original bank books. Above only identifies changes, still need to bring original passport, copies of passport (photo page plus all pages with Thai immigration stamps), departure card, TM7, 1,900 baht,
