  1. I have known Americans and Canadians who have lived for long periods of time, in Nirun. They liked it, some even bought a condo on Nirun but all have sold now. It's in a great location walkable to restairants bars, Big C, Foodland. Central festival is about a 20-25 minute walk. Beach is a 25 min. walk. Also consider 9 karat condo.
  2. Can anyone recommend a personal injury lawyer in Pattaya, who is successful in obtaining adequate motor vehicle accident awards?
  3. What is the process to continue a retirement visa extension and mutiple re-entry permit after obtaining a new passport while outside Thailand? The orginal visa was issued in Bangkok 5 years ago and the last extension of stay and multiple re-entry permit were issued in Jomtien. When returning to Thailand, should both old and new passports be produced for entry? What should be the "stay until date" upon entry.
  4. But you can write a review saying exactly what happened and how you feel about the hotel . For example, "upon arrival, and after paying a deposit, my reservation was not honoured, and I had to find another hotel. I had to involve the police to get my deposit returned. I will never book at this hotel again. I recommend not booking at this hotel".
  5. I have heard some people are successful by going in the afternoon. I tried that once, at about 1:30pm and was told to come back next day before 8am because they had reached their limit. They have a limit as to the number retirement extension processed in one day, someone said it was 200 per day at Jomtien.
  6. 500GBP is insignificant. I know people who have carried USD$25,000, plus other currencies, totaling USD$40,000. If the total value of monetary instruments are greater than USD$20,000 declare them at customs, customs Red line at the airport. They do random checks to make sure an arrival has sufficient means to support themselves during their visit.
  7. She looks gorgeous. How can I meet her in person? Since she wants to come to Canada, maybe I can marry her and bring her to Canada since I am Canadian.
  8. You're kidding? The prices on United from YYZ to BKK round trip use to be CAD$1000 to $1300. Now the cheapest is CAD$2997. See attached. UnitedFlights.docx
  9. Always ask cost/price before renting or buying. The situation is hot, you have done something to anger her, so you have to cool things down. Try negotiating, or just give her a reasonable sum that you think is fair or market rates. If more is demanded, make an excuse why more is not available at this time. Leave for some reason, ie. meet friends elsewhere. Threat could be real.
  10. There are logical reasons why the OP's business experiences high employee turnover and the owner/operator is asking for help to retain employees. Nothing is hilarious about it, he wants a prosperous business. As others have identified, the 500 baht monthly lunch money is sufficient cause to leave. A half decent Thai lunch costs 50-70 baht. Many places provide a lunch in-house, to make it more convenient for the employees and avoid cash payouts. Many Thai people do want to work for a decent employer and a decent wage. I know of businesses in Thailand (Pattaya) where about half the staff have been with the company for 10 years or more, before COVID-19. There are numerous critical success factors to retain employees and the OP's business is missing some of them, all very logical
  11. Someone has to go to the court to get the probate order issued, pay the taxes and they need to speak and write Thai. I recommend hiring a lawyer.
  12. What type of business ? What are the work hours? What is the vacation policy? Ask the employees why they left and ask the existing employees why the others left. There could be inter-personal issues between the employees.
