Not true - the frequency of extreme events is perfectly proven, itis part of MMCC. However attributing and indicidual event is not relevent - in fact it is only argued by denir=ers who cite that "it has happened before" - the frequency is not done just on current reporting it is done on an analysis for records over teyears....for instance researching the events stored in layers of ice on the poles which work as perfect records for weather, climate and other events.

"over population" is not a simple matter of numbers - it is when a population is consuming more resources than are being renewed. It is also regional - many countries have a reduction in population. THe negative effects of a large population are in reality directly linked to climate change as in areas where this is having a more profound affect, it puts greater strains on the population.. the term is often used by recisist to justify their opposition to immigration.

My guess is that China is increasingly fearful of its citizens travelling abroad as the may encounter "the other side of the stroy" as promulgated by the government itself.

Police roadblocks and attempts to enforce the law is a waste of time - they are largely ineffective. It is just the riders who need educatiing, it's the police and the road safety authorities. Helmet wearing needs to become a way of life - for 22 million or more people who use M/Cs nearly every day. I notice in some areas the wearing of full face r higher spec helmets is now becoming a status symbol and that helps. They have to overcome the idea of aan M/C being the cheap convenient transport for the low-incomed and get it recognised as a potentially life threatening device. Even if they achieve 1005 helmet wearing it will onlt affect a certain number of deaths on M/Cs - whether this number is significant or not remains to be seen only after the wearing becomes universal. Although I'm hugely pro helmey wearing oe mustn't loose sight of the fact that it isn't a cure-all for motorcycle deaths.

I agree with you observations but your conclusion that it should be illegal is HIGHLY illogical..... all drugs should be discouraged but it has been should over decades that prohibition has no beneficial effects apart from finding organised crime - if you see that as beneficial
