  1. My wife is Thai. She refuses to accept Sinovac. We live near Hua Hin. How would I help her get vaccinated with Pfizer? Her hospital is the government hospital, Pran Buri Hospital. We visited last week and were told Sinovac only, no mention of 2d dose being AstraZeneca. Only medical staff and Thais going overseas for business and schools can get Pfizer. Terry ( a few miles south of Hua Hin )
  2. In 13 years living in Thailand I have relied on family to bring my favorite underarm deodorant. Those 'mules' have not come since the summer of 2017. My favorite is Old Spice. See: https://oldspice.com/ What are worthwhile underarm deodorants here in Thailand? I've tried Top Country and find it has a faint smell of something. The television commercials show two guys wearing fake horse heads. Terry ( a few miles south of Hua Hin )
  3. KhaoYai, Thank you for replying. I exchanged posts on the Radar Station Veterans mailing list, now a Facebook group, where the American radar operator said he was retiring to the Khao Yai area. . . .
  4. KhaoYai, I may have asked before. Did you serve in Thailand at a USAF radar site? Terry ( a few miles south of Hua Hin )
  5. First Pfizer today at Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin. Ground floor check-in, blood pressure, and temp. Wait for a group of five to be escorted to the 3rd floor, called almost immediately, jabbed, and wait less than 30 minutes. Second Pfizer appt. by mail.
  6. I registered on-line using "Pfizer vaccine in THAILAND INTERVAC program" at web site at thailandintervac.com . I signed up on 6 August at Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin. BKKHH email today says scheduled Pfizer vaccination on 23 September is in process. Finally a limited success. Terry ( a few miles south of Hua Hin )
  7. Light rain overnight just south of Hua Hin, about one inch, pool flooded. Two days ago strong gusts of wind late afternoon and heavy rain. Malaysia grass is growing fast. Terry . .
  8. I've used the HHIO (Hua Hin Immigration Office) for 12 years. The office moves to a new location every 2 or 3 years. Proof of address 'fee' to get a driver's license reduced from 1,000 baht to 500 baht, no receipts. New passport 'fee' was 500 baht, no receipt. I know that mean older woman IO. Filling out the forms is simple enough, but I've found the 'contractor' in the motel room out back can do your copies, take photos, and answer questions; making the office visit upstairs on the 2nd floor easy as pie. A couple years back the HHIO manager found a way to align the 90 day with the visa extension. There is a new sheriff in town and that arrangement is out the window.
  9. I successfully registered on 9 August. I have not gotten an email or phone call. I live a few miles south of Hua Hin.
  10. I successfully registered on 9 August. I have not gotten an email or phone call. I live a few miles south of Hua Hin.
  11. I agree it is not a Blackhawk as too many windows and fancy trim. That small town street gets pretty congested with everything from pedestrians and bicycles to large trucks.
  12. That street is in Pak Nam Pran, 2 miles north my house. The helicopter is a Blackhawk.
  13. On 16 and 22 June my wife and I were told registration at HHH, Hua Hin Hospital, was closed. They said use the government web site which I did not try. On 9 August I 'signed up' at the Expatvac web site. Confirmed and waiting for an appointment.
  14. Rooster, I agree that 'Mary Jane' should be licensed and taxed. My introduction to MJ was in Vietnam in 1971. The heroin abuse had been in full swing for at least two years. In 1974, stopped using as my security clearance was Above Most Secret, U.S. Above Top Secret, and NATO use of COSMIC Top Secret. Alcohol and the harder drugs like speed and heroin are a catastrophe.
  15. I signed up late this evening, Monday, 9 August. I didn't have a medical certificate so I used my U.S. Dept. of Veteran Affairs benefits authorization. I'd be curious which vaccines are offered and accepted by the expats here. I live just south of Hua Hin.
