  1. I usually notice that pretty quick after I a few times get zapped a few times.
  2. You must be new to Thailand. All the old houses I rented in the last 20 years not one had a ground. However, my own house which we built this year had to have grounds and a safe-t-cut breaker in order to pass the government inspection, and yes... they do send an inspector out to check. Maybe rather than trying to save a few bucks, you try to find a recent build that meets new building code.
  3. Will these grey Chinese be stripped of their citizenship, or will they remain 'Thais'?
  4. I worked i this country, and for foreigners the average salary is between 40 000 - 60 000 bht a month teaching. I have no idea which trade would pay a Thai man better than a foreign teacher except, maybe, prostitution. Any less than that then there is no way he could send back what the wifey expected him to. Korea is expensive to live, and the natives are not very friendly and I found more Thais speaking English than Koreans.
  5. Either your Ebglish is poor or you simply don't get the point. PRONOUN REFERRAL 101 Here.. they refers to the staff. Got it?
  6. A few minths ago I started smoking a few joints here and there. I felt the happiest and the best I had in decades. Unfortunately all that came to a screeching halt a few weeks ago when I was Diagnosed with level 2 COPD. I didn't catch COPD from smoking weed, but from years of smoking cigarettes. Why doesn't Mr Chuwit take on the big tobacco companies? They are obviously doing more harm than weed. Then again... as history taught us over and over.. it is easier to win by pure speculation if your patsy is seen as a mongrel or something evil. Women, blacks, jews, French Canadians even gays are/were used conveniently for the all powerful to convince the masses to swsy their way.
  7. 555 those naughty tokers. Always willing to go above and beyond!????
  8. Errrrrr, no.
  9. Me too. Reading the news here it always seems like Thailand is doing so well. Sicophant reporting and government statistics just go to show ya can't always believe wat you read. However, the baht is still doing too well.
  10. Yeah I did... the guy who just discovered there is weed in his neighborhood, the girl (tongue in cheek) who is telling us about a perv foreigner hitting on her... nevertheless... grown man doesn't need general population's approval
  11. You should mind your own business. Why does a grown man come on this blog to tell/ask advice about things that his conscience can clearly guide him on?
  12. Rabbit out of a hat figures. They magically appear.
  13. Does anyone know a reliable mechanic who can service an old e30 M 10 in Pattaya? Thanks ahead
  14. So can boogers and feces on the hands and urine. What makes you an expert on food hygiene and statistics. You don't talk the talk nor do you walk the walk. So unless you can disprove what I said then keep your beez wax to urself. In a nutshell, what do you know?
  15. 555 thought police. I will stand my ground at the risk of being branded and deported. Been teaching their kids for nearly 20 years so I have first hand experience. e.g. --> How old are you? I'm fine thank you and you? Also works the other way around.
  16. No, but it does translate stupid. I just checked it. Tried with english thai app and it did translate it.... but it comes out as satire.
  17. When not using google translate I use an app from the play store called simply enough: English Thai Translator. When all else fails I use pictures. Funny thing is is that only a few Thais are ever bothered to use apps when trying to explain things. Really pisses me off how lazy or ignorant they are.
  18. If the chefs actually wore gloves when cooking 85% of the food poisoning could be averted. The chefs pick their noses and scratch their butts then proceed to dishing out that amazing Thai school food. I personally have first hand experience with this in Thai schools. Another thing is the statistics related to food poisoning in schools is, in my opinion, not to be trusted. The number one excuse given by Thai kids when they want to cut class is the classic "stomachache" excuse. Point is unless you follow a kid to the toilet there is no way to say it ain't true.
  19. I would like to go off grid but I haven't the faintest and after my build I am outta cash. I wonder why this guy doesn't install a windmill just for when the monsoon season arrives. Right now, at my house, the wind factor is phenomenal all day but dies off at night. I also keep my eyes peeled for windmills and kits of the sort , but I find it difficult to find an appropriate one.
  20. Damn dude, looks like sewer water. Ya sure ya wanna put that in your body?
  21. Only your Thai partner can do this and it is done online. Sorry no link, but my wife registered couple weeks ago. You have to say how many plants you plan on growing and for what purpose. Sounds to me like you are planning on growing not only for yourself, so please don't use that pretense here if that is the case. If you want to go big your partner will have to go through other loops to make you legal.
  22. Right now I have nothing to keep the wires in place on the */- terminals and they seem to be set up in parallel somehow and that takes a nickel plate to connect the 2. I tried to solder to the batteries but made a mess of things. I ordered the casings but I know for a fact they wont fit in the solar light housing. I will have to make an exterior box that is water proof. Thing is, if this works, I will have found a way to replace the batteries in my use once throw away household items. And that to me will be worth all the trouble I am going through now learning how to do it.
  23. I think he is having problems with an obnoxious neighbor, and the neighbor is pushing his buttons. Would the Thai guy share the footage if the falang got robbed? hmmm me doesnt know but me money is on 'NOT'. Some people don't like being filmed or photographed... it is a one on one basis for this. I don't like being photographed and it has nothing to do with paranoia. I just don't like it but I don't get upset over it. No one likes being called paranoid... hahaha I call it being prudent. But i get your point.
  24. Unfortunately, our governments are even more heartless than the insurance brokers. The way they take care of us is by collecting a lifetime of taxes and then forget about us when we are too old to contribute. As others have said, hard to tell and make an unbiased opinion without the facts. Big question is, did they actually buy good insurance from a reputable company? or did they skimp on this.
