  1. i was watching this week's 60 minutes and an interview with jerome powell. i am usually a pretty good judge of character, but this guy had me stumped. imho bankers are on top of the list as the major players in the hard times we are facing now and for the last 100 years. but this guy, jerome powell, almost seems sincere. i still believe one thing... never trust bankers, politicians, economists and cops. --> link to the interview https://www.primewire.tf/tv/53872/60-minutes-season-56-episode-18 back to the thai economy... i dont get it, i was driving around a 'village' in my area the other day and cant stop thinking. if things are so bad how can anyone afford all the mansions being built right now?
  2. dont they know that 1000 million is 1 billion? or do they just want it to look like more?
  3. i hear there is a new russian guy in pattaya who does a great job. just dont forget to tip him
  4. Mary Jane Merry Jane Marijuane
  5. where did you get your seeds? i bought from royal queen seeds thailand and less than 25% of my seeds sprouted. spent a lot of money for nothing
  6. not sure if same model as me, but look on top of your tank. should have 2 black caps. unscrew the one in the 'middle-ish'. you should hear air coming out and water too unscrew slowwwwwly. let the air come out completely, then check to see how much water you have to add. careful when taking off cap... watch for spring. if one of your taps drains the small tank under the pump faster then you will get air in it. if the gvt water is slow at filling it you will get air in it. depending on times of day the water does not flow at the same rate... mornings especially. at my house at least
  7. great news for thailand. i was watching a 60 minute report and it incredible how many cultural artifacts are not with their rightful owners. the 60 minute report was about cambodia and how many cultural icons are just stolen... actually it is a pretty widespread phenomena in south east asia... thanks to the germans and japanese there are still many works of art that are with private collectors that will never see the day
  8. i once had an old guy at a PTT, of all places, just come out and tell me in english."tip!". i turned red first, then purple... i think the guy shat his pants.
  9. 5555555555555555 so you didnt find it either... i know i am a nut case... but glad to see i am not certifiable yet....
  10. that sucks... of all things a barber charging falang prices. whatever you do dont do like the angry russian did to his barber... hehehe
  11. OK glad to hear it. we dont have the same tastes but that is what makes life and people interesting. can you please tell me what the catastrophic event was? i got bored quickly but really did try to find something redeeming in the movie so i fast forwarded and backtracked trying to find this event... please share... maybe i'll watch again more patiently all i could find on the internet was the same generic description on all the reviews Motivational speaker Billy Seldom is about to become a global sensation when a catastrophic event hits. He spirals into self-destruction, while his co-dependent relationship with his girlfriend,
  12. because some people here are schemers trying to get by. Jane, you give teachers here a bad name. i studied 4 years to get a B ed and it was hard work. the 2 op's i have seen from you so far are all dodgy in nature. your 1st op was how to work here illegally/without a degree as a teacher and now you are trying to earn extra income selling your blood/plasma. seems to me you probably should go back home, because if you are trying to teach illegally and you need extra income selling blood it will all catch up with you sooner or later. i wish you had chosen another name than teacher ______
  13. correct me if i'm wrong. if he has a criminal record, isn't he banned from running for office? damn they really are crossing out all their T's to make sure no change ever comes to this archaic culture that still prays to trees. so, one gets a criminal record for a peaceful protest... surprised no one got arrested here on AN yet
  14. geeezzz... shouldnt that be 60-70 per month? the honorable police that never patrols... wow
  15. right on. the things people have to do to get their point across. when i read of things like this i can still picture the monks immolating themselves in protest of the vietnam war, or the atrocities in tibet. thailand still has a long way to go in regards to social welfare. how many elderly here dont even have a pension? or receive a pitiful 500 bht a month.
  16. seems like sreta looks older now... didnt take too long
  17. good luck collecting. also, which insurance would you take here? i'm not even 60 yet and i cant get accident insurance anymore. as for blue cross [dont know the new name think it is pacific cross] i have too many pre-existing conditions... always some fine print no one reads. even if you did would it change anything? you can always try to sue the resort/hotel but good luck with that. maybe you could get 15 000bht if you're lucky.
  18. ok guy. to each his own... respect. but i am not big on flashy influencers, or influencers at all. i guess an old timer like me is just stuck in his ways...
  19. another yap yap youtube video. AT LEAST he doesnt have booming music like many do. he would have a lot more credibility if he showed his tou showing the results. or did i miss that somewhere in his bla bla bla
  20. me believes you are spot on about the name. thanks... i spent a fortune there. no longer living in bkk so havent been lately. i wonder if they still are as good as in the olden' days... i remember they were dusty and seemed disorganized but the selection of textbooks was outstanding for the early 2000's. i am just surprised nothing else has come along since then
  21. Mindwash (2024) gawd awful movie. i fast tracked, went back, looked everywhere... there is no catastrophic event. only catastrophe is the movie. most of the movie revolves around the main character talking to an audience we never see, this movie takes 'low budget' to a whole new level...
  22. there is one close to patunam... the best in thailand that i have seen. been years since i went... same road as central world. you go past sukhumvit and it is on the left... it is close to a bridge if memory serves me right. sorry i cant give you more details. if they are still open they were way better than chula
