  1. GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. yes, i did. but we are in thailand. i worked in a few international schools and i can tell you first hand that there is a high percentage of non qualified/certified teachers working in thailand. unfortunately i cannot name and shame these schools. also, i have witnessed many foreign teachers in international schools with very ***RELAXED*** ethos. unprofessional conducts are not just a thai thing. also, i have seen many teachers with kao san road degrees. although there seems to be fewer and fewer there are still some out there.
  3. point well taken. when i was doing my education there are a few things i learned that i first scoffed at. i was told NEVER to have an interview with a student alone in a room with the door closed. this is one thing i have witnessed over and over in thailand... thai and foreign teachers fraternizing with students in ways that defy the ethos of teaching. as a teacher you must not only protect the students but also yourself. maybe it was the fear of teachers and their sticks, or maybe it was the buddhist attitude towards teachers that has protected teachers against having accusations being made against them, but with today's teen mentality i am sure we are going to see more and more cases of misconduct against teachers just as we see in the west. being a teacher in the west today is a very difficult thing especially with things like the right to use any pronoun or to be any gender under the sun. this guy apparently confessed to the crime and needs to face the music. but thailand not only needs a serious change in its curriculum and how it is delivered, but it specially needs changes in its teacher ethos. it truly is time that thailand wakes up and starts treating teaching as a serious trade and it is high time the teachers stop acting like clowns
  4. what he gonna do? stick it to puke thai for turning on his party in order to gain control? i just wish this were an electoral year so we could see the back of the pukes
  5. poor thais... foreigners have so much more influence than they do. i am actually surprised that nothing has been done yet specially considering the owner is foreign. who in his/her right mind wants to own a lion? have to be cracked in the noggin
  6. whatever.... as long as the baht devaluates against foreign currencies.... wonder if the 10 000bht giveaway will change anything
  7. lollllllllllllllllllllll I worked in a cold cut (hot dog) factory when I was younger... nothing surprises me nor disgusts me anymore. Couldnt eat hot dogs for a year after that summer time job.... the smell seemed to be everywhere. I remember getting the boxes of frozen beef hearts and leftover chicken with their feathers still on... no... we did not clean any of it per factory practice... so... cheese in a can? What me worry??? lol
  8. comes from listening to music too loud when we were young... drunk people also talk louder too as for me, personally, I do talk loud but not out of choice. I have severe tinnitus in one ear... loud enough to make it hard to make out what people are saying... so I do sadly speak loudly
  9. cheese in a can? love it... whats the problem? ; ) but salt in coffee, or tea? what on earth are the thinking?
  10. 5 X i read this article. even read on thaiger. i am still wondering what the stimulus measures will be. seems the only thing he is really planning is the digital wallet. i predict this will come right back and bite him. however, he will be collecting our taxes eventually... i really hope this helps with the canadian $. it used to be 30bht to the dollar and for 8 years now it has sucked
  11. maybe... but i often see 50'ish guys with old ladies around pattaya and these ol' ladies are wayyyyyyy past their prime... maybe some get a kick out of a worn out ___ that goes flap flap flap?
  12. will take a gander just spotted it today, finders keepers, but binge watching Criminal Record for now i watched Napoleon... what a disappointment. got bored of the courting between napoleon and josephine. love scenes and love triangles just turn me off when i watch anything...
  13. 14. In 1989, he launched IBC, a cable television company. At that time, Thaksin had a good relationship with Chalerm Yoobumrung, the minister of the Prime Minister's Office, who was in charge of Thai press and media. It is a question whether Chalerm granted the right to Thaksin to establish IBC to benefit his close friend, seeing that the project had been denied by the previous administration.[26] However, it turned out to be a money loser and he eventually merged the company with the CP Group's UTV.[22][27] In 1989, Thaksin established a data networking service, Shinawatra DataCom,[22] today known as Advanced Data Network and owned by AIS and TOT.[28] Many of Thaksin's businesses were later consolidated as Shin Corporation. well... he was into pretty much everything that can, in a way, control public opinion...
  15. if you are anywhere near pattaya, i have a great mechanic that works really well for dirt cheap. pm me if you are close by i can introduce you to him... since he has been fixing my truck all i need to do is change the oil and change the occasional worn out part... i dont know where bamg rakam is... sorry
  16. rats love electric cables and often make nests in cars parked for a while. if none of your console gadgets are acting up you are fine. but... it is worth taking a quick look with a flashlight to see if anything has been nibbled on
  17. MOFOS... maybe if they started patrolling instead of sleeping in their police boxes, or going drinking while on duty they would get something done
  18. If a society raises its youth in a system that has no consequences then we see exactly what is going on now. Lower the age of accountability and set examples. Maybe the parents will start to care, then, maybe not. Also, get rid of the no fail policy in schools. When I was a kid, i dreaded the thought of being ever held back. I was also afraid of the law and walked the straight and narrow. Unfortunately, now back in my country i rrad a lot about young gang members in montreal doing hits on rival gang members and these are only kids. 2 weeks ago some guy posted a rap video of himself and his 6 mates on youtube... So, will things ever get better, even if we lower the age of accountability if nothing is done to enforce rules?
  19. absolutely true. i worked at a brand new gvt school once, and the only reason the foreigners did not have to do the night watch was because we would have been helpless in case of emergency. but some thais did want us to partake. and yes... the guards do have to work the next day. the teaching trade is very outdated and underpaid in thailand. should get rid of the dinos at the top first...
  20. make the parents pay. no excuses...no wais... and make the boys clean the streets. i am sure that will be very fun. unfortunately, in the world, children get away with murder and no consequences.
  21. 23 people packed in a truck? theses guys had a lucky star. why on earth is this still allowed? i drive fast, but i still get overtaken by, specially isuzu truck maniacs, crazed thais carrying a load of people.
  22. anutin has insiste from the beginning that the thc content should not be over 0.2% and that it should not be used for recreational purposes. i am very pro weed, but the thai gvt isnt known for its finesse in implementing laws, nor are the pigs gonna back down from enforcing their future retirement plans. dont get your hopes up
  23. ah shut up big mouth. too lazy to come up with your own lines? this op... before you say another word with your don quixote attitude... why dont you go check his profile? he starts bleeding hear topics and then disappears. he is always crying about his health or something or other. here are some of his op's: Dying unexpectedly in Thailand Has anyone in Chiang Mai or Lamphun experience of REZUM treatment for prostate problems? Is there any kind of '10 Year Rule' about living with a Thai woman? Old age sex? Prostate Problems this guy is a troll. i knew a guy, same age same exact situation. he used to call the little girls his daughter. i was her teacher and the guy was where i was from, and there arent that many around. the little girl only put up with the old guy because at the end of the day she was made quite aware of this guys value to them. most of these 'deserving' kids would not give you the time of day now. you imagine it will get anyb better when they are teenagers? they will only wish you dead. so, sop box austin... i wish i could really tell you what i think of you... crusader of the fools
  24. I am not saying this is the case for you, but it is the case for many here. Many have already inherited some form of inheritance from their family, considering the average age here, while others had great job opportunities in their youth. Those of us here between 44-60 are mostly generation x and did not get the same opportunities our older peers did. We went through some of the worst recessions and job shortages in recent history. For a great proportion of us our parents are still alive, well and spending their money on expensive old folk homes. The point i am getting at is that not everyone has 400 000 disposable income for a home stereo that will eventually be, like all tech, obsolete. If i had 400k there are a gazillion ways i would find to spend it that i consider more important than a home stereo. You, spidermike, are very lucky to have as much cash to spend
