  1. how nice and thoughtful of them. i guess thais have to keep the tourism #'s up
  2. thinking exact same thing b4 reading your comment... riding on sidewalks, going against traffic, using a dedicated u turn the wrong way
  3. only thing is your electric outlets are gonna need some tweeking. of course your option 1 is the right one... but who does the right thing? the wd40 does work but the spray adhesive remover is the best... smells like citrus too.... just a bit expensive, but if it is my house ill do wat i gotta do...
  4. well... you have a better option to suggest? when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place sometimes your only option is the pick
  5. Sorry, i am pretty ignorant in these matters. if they reduce the rate, how will it affect the bht?
  6. Pheu Thai leader backs Srettha as PM, for now
  7. try using a stand steamer. works on rubber cement, should work on latex... you can also use a sticker remover spray or wd40 if you dont mind the smell... use the steamer first and if it isnt enough add a little spray of your choice
  8. anything written by petch pailin for the thaiger is confusing and convoluted at best... so when i read the full articles i usually get a headache. she should be banned on AN
  9. he must have been stoned and thought it was the lineman delivering his kebab, then on second look he thought the lineman was the kebab
  10. maybe thai teachers but certainly not foreign in a thai or thai/english program. are you sure the thai teachers are actually supported? that kinda implies free will... from what i have witnessed thai teachers do as they are told, no if's ands or buts. this is why thai admin have difficulties with foreigners, unless they are phililinas/philipinos
  11. totally confusing reporting. yesterday, on the thai pbs report: so? russian or israeli? if israeli why would they be deported to russia and why would thailand even get involved?
  12. thailand the hub of deportation of people to authoritarian countries so they can face prosecution, torture and possibly be disappeared. wasnt it the german president who was congratulating thailand on its democratic improvements? oh... and does thailand accept any refugees?
  13. i respect your opinion even if i dont agree with you. maybe some day i will agree with you, but not for now. i have been known to change my mind... but here, i doubt i will. divergence of opinions makes life interesting so keep on truckin' and good luck convincing those who disagree with you
  14. those do happen, undeniably. as for this guy lets wait and see. if you work in a school you know that what i said about being barged upon at any time makes it difficult. on top of that, in over 20 years here, i have never had my own private office. usually teachers are stacked in a staff room. many details need to be analysed but truth is with all the crappy reporting here on AN and in thailand i believe we, the public, will never be presented with all the facts
  15. damn, i am not sure anyone in her/his right mind would do that. is the guy guilty? not for me to say, nor judge. if he is i hope he gets his. but still... the risks of having kids or staff walking in on him? i have been teaching over 20 years here and there always is a kid or a teacher looking for me at break time... late homework, unscheduled meeting... even if i were the most notorious criminal this one would make me think twice
  16. i did plenty... but i never murdered anyone, nor did i ever entertained the thought. but wrong doesnt mean criminal... apart from smoking weed and drinking when i was a teen i really didnt do anything criminal. i dont think kids should go to jail for petty things but murder, mutilation of others? yes, i do
  17. why did you have to ruin it? i hate you i hate you i hate you... 555
  18. the pc thing to say at the moment is 'hang'em by the balls'. he apparently did admit to the crime. but for me... just seems insane that he would do his deeds in a school office and not somewhere less at risk of getting caught. something just aint right about the story... but something just aint right about education in thailand
  19. life is too short to dance with fat women
  20. canadian loonie is still far from the 31bht to a dollar between 2003-2008 i really hope the thai bht gets back to where it oughta be... for me at least...
  21. of course they are cleared... who ever thought they would do something wrong?
  22. i am nearly 60 and up till last year i had rented all my life. now my wife and i own our own home and the build was paid cash. this is an amazing feeling to be owner and not renter. i still walk around my house in near disbelief that i finally have my own home. 60 is late, but better late than never. i wish i had gotten a house while i was younger and i hope the new generations dont have to wait as long as i did
  23. i've been saying it for years. the thai education is simply not equipped to deal with anything in regards to child psychology and how to deal with kids. back home, there are tailor designed special intervention plans laid out to help teachers deal with special needs students. here, in thailand, as foreigners in thai schools we are not allowed to intervene in discipline matters, nor are there any intervention plans implemented to help the kids. it is the ALMIGHTY THAI TEACHER who will fix all the problems. never mind that these ladies (most thai teachers are women) dont have a background in education, nor have they had classes in adolescent and child psychology they are gods and they know best. things are not going to get better any time soon as long as these nags run the roost... but hey... thats the way they want it
  24. geeezus... this guy has hot balls all around his head. committing acts of a sexual nature in his office? where anyone could walk in at any time? either something is fishy here, or this guy is a reaaalll psychopath
  25. YES we live in a society where everything is readily available via the media. even kids should know that some crimes are plain wrong. seeing a mutilated body should cause enough grief in teens and children that they should know it is wrong. there is no such thing as a pretty murdered body and kids likely have seen more death than previous generations have... at least enough to know it is wrong to kill or harm someone
