  1. all bets are on... i say an equivalent of a shiny new 2 bht a day in all asean countries what guesstimate you? from the original full article
  2. i think it is your comment that is getting dumber in your panic attack. seems to me that what bkk6060 is recommending is for you to get a doctor to have somewhere to take your blood safely without using it on other patients due to your test results. you have bad ferritin results then when someone suggest something sensible you 'DUH' them stupidly and say you saw a doctor. nowhere did you say you did what bkk6060 suggested. if you want people to help you here you better start being nice or youll see what it gets you if you dont
  3. great comment. another poster pointed that out previously stating it pisced him off specially when there were fight scenes. i get it that movies are probably filming dark scenes cos when at the cinema the scenes probably are quit visible... but i dont get why tv shows do it... tv shows arent aired in a cinema. it also ticks me off greatly
  4. kinda right/kinda wrong... i dare you to watch a show like power book 3: raising kanan (just finished watching) and undertsand what they are saying. there is a big difference between hearing what is being said and understanding what is being said. i hear birds chanting but i dont understand them. just cos a tv show is said to be in english doesnt make their enunciation clear and understandable despite being hearable
  5. again? This is about the 4th time in 5 years they promise this. Wonder whatever happened to the special stickers? Wink wink nod nod
  6. Well, isnt that the same guy who said taksh1!t was a model of peace? Easy to get away when the justice is one of his corrupt cronies
  7. yes... that is the villainous shop does it need to be beautiful? or functional? 10 years ago i was renting 2 houses. my permanent house in rayong, and a house in bkk. i didnt want to buy a whole new set of furniture. so what we did is we bought the big size milk crates and a small mattress. the mattress fit perfectly on the crates. we tie wrapped it together and we had our sofa/bed. stick it against the wall, buy some big pillows and your all set. also, you can use the crates to put your stuff in if ever you have to move. they stack up wonderfully
  8. dont know the name of the soi... not sure same as you... do you know how to go from aksorn school from soi tepasset? there are 2 schools... not the first one the other... well if you know ho to go there you just follow that soi before you have to turn left to go to aksorn about 1km maybe and the shop is on the right hand side. monster shop... but i want to punch them in the face when they quote a price... mother _ _ _ _ buy new if you can
  9. 555... damn man please dont start world war 3! i totally believe you. new generation.... just like the horror movies around '85 or so, not quite sure when it started but around then, where they killed the hero in an unsuspected surprise come back from the villain cinema has taken a turn... for the worst
  10. i know and have often expressed the fact that the heads are the problem. but for me, a proper teacher certified in my home country, i will not go work for the pittance they offer anymore. -incompetent heads who know nothing about teaching or curriculum -thai teachers who are actually not even teachers and have had no classes in didactics or psychology ----> big one here.... parents who offer no support to their kids once they are past primary one and these parents are now over the cute factor of their kids, but never will they believe that their darling is disruptive or needs outside help I can go on all day...
  11. problem with the thrift stores is that they ask the same price as new items. you can try craig's list thailand but again... everyone wants the same price as new and most will absolutely not negociate. i know a few places in pattaya... but you give no indication of where you are at. buy new... they will change you the same price as 2nd hand
  12. teacher salaries are a joke. example of corruption is that the gvt has been allocating 40 000 bht a month in salary for foreigners in gvt schools for at least 20 years. the directors pay 30 000bht avg a month for foreigners and less for philipinos. where is the money going? hmmmm (before anyone asks where i got the 40k #... i had a friend who worked for the moe and she confided this in me) salaries advertised have not changed since 2003 when i got here. also, there really is no need to hit any kid cos theyre failing, just keep them back a year or two... but nahhhhh thats too hard on the poor little somchais and nois
  13. my samsung 7 series only has 3 settings... ; (
  14. thats easy to understand... its to hide the actors incompetence at acting, or they cant find a double that looks like... enough
  15. dude! totally agree with you. i don't get why they dont try to balance out the sound. then the actors talk to each other in muffled voices for realism... sucks
  16. with brit tv it gets difficult when they also have irish and scots on the cast. usually if it is in received pronunciation it aint so bad. of course, in any of the 'englishes' if they talk about names or places then it can be really hard to tell. i did. their will be a few american first nation actors, so that might mess things up my hearing certainly aint what it used to be, but i can turn up the volume, so no... not just that. try listening to something like power book lll: raising kanan and see if you can really follow what they are saying yeah i watch that crap... aint much on now apparently due to writers strike.
  17. i truly enjoy watching tv. but over the years i have found that the actors/actresses are more and more difficult to understand. they slur more, mumble with low voices and many actors arent even native english speakers. now i am watching true detective season 3 (as example) and i gotta have the subs on all the time. season 2 was just as bad with woody harelson and Matthew McConaughey drawling in texas accents. same goes for british tv... even more so cos much of what is being said on brit tv is colloquial and particular to england. any others struggling with this new generation of actors?
  18. and reduces the price of fuel...
  19. damn man. that thing is anything but a fantastic example. its more banged up than a featherweight against a heavyweight would be. not even sure they make replacement panels for that old model anymore. if memory serves me well, panels actually arent that expensive. usually it is the labor that brings costs up and here labor aint too bad. if you can find the parts it will be worth it
  20. totally agree. but i dont need the extra sauce. i am fine the way it is here, where i live they took it off the menu, but still make it their ribs and chicken wings/drumsticks are also mighty good
  21. lol i guess that proves puke thai's desire efforts to curb the smog and global warming make it cheaper to pollute disclaimer... i actually drive one of those polluting vehicles and this one just shows up at the right time. army, cheap fuel... what could possibly go right?
  22. sorry i did not read in detail all the above posts. OP, 2 years ago I changed from retirement to marriage with absolutely no hassles. I had done my 2 previous retirements in Pattaya via an agent and finally i changed to marriage in rayong no agent. for some reason... there are ABSOLUTELY NO AGENTS HERE. i really dont get it... 15 years in rayong and never found any agent. anywho, i had the money in the bank so i dont know if that made a difference. maybe up there in the thread someone mentioned this prior
