starting to look more and more like the west. except for france and muslim countries (who protest mostly against the usa) there are fewer and fewer people willing to protest. this might have something to do with the aging of the population. many years ago i asked my mother why she wasnt willing to protest. her answer was that she was too old and she didnt see a reason for it. sad...

for me, the village idiot here is not this guy but rather the OP who poses as a hospital cleaner and then calls racist and bigot anyone who knows him as being a troll here on AN. all this AN idiot wants to do is use AI to generate stupid OP's for him so he can then go troll the ones who answer him. I usually avoid at all cost any of his posts, but this time I feel he is attacking to many people after having baited all here...

Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Geeeez... how does giving 10 000 bht to those who qualify as urgent? Did i read this article right? How will the gvt indebting itself help with the gdp??? As many have posted here, i doubt many people will invest their free money wisely... actually they cant invest it at all, they must spend it -
Quality Standards Set for New Year Gift Baskets
Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I think its actually a step in the right direction. When i got here 20 some years ago .h wife laughed at me when I wanted to return a faulty mouse for a refund after a day of use. She was right. The shop refused to replace or refund it. About 12-15 years ago, things started to change and warranties were actually starting to be honored. Many gift baskets are sold at exhorbitant prices, are filled with strawand carboard and composed of items that are near their their sell by date. Hopefully this opens the door to other changes in the crappy thai customer support and respect -
I do not doubt chinas military strength for a nano second. The worst thing any military/enemy force can do is just that... underestimate their military and resolve. They have the tech, the natural resources and the labor force. They also have nukes. That alone reminds me of the 80s when all were afraid of the nuclear holocaust. How many minutes to midnight on the doomsday clock? 1984... 3 minutes til midnight On January 24, 2023, the Clock was moved to 90 seconds (1 minute, 30 seconds) before midnight, meaning that the Clock's current setting is the closest it has ever been to midnight since its inception in 1947.

Thai health charter chairman advocates for cannabis in wellness tourism
Pouatchee replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Finally. Hope it is good news ". In his view, cannabis is versatile and advantageous because it can be harnessed for both medicinal and recreational purposes." Even if i cant smoke, i hail this guy for coming out against the mainstream that would send people to jail simply for smoking or growing weed -

Maybe the girly bars arent as busy but the restaurants and other venues are. I go in the daytime and the maine arteries are busy. I avoid going at night at all cost so cannot talk about that

Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Maybe, but she wouldnt own a house and a car that is paid off. And btw i never claimed to be a knight in shining armor, this is you trying to bash someone you dont know in regards to a perfectly legit opinion. I bet you think beggars are surviving perfectly well -
Thai wage committee upholds 2.37% minimum wage increase
Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Totally! I cant believe this total disregard for the citizens of this country. It is a shameful sham. My wife is working and in 5 years she only got 2 jokes of a salary increase. No providence fund and no contribution to a pension plan. Were i not there there is no way she could survive. Disgusting way to take care of your citizens But ikke1959 i still dont understand your 1st post. It seems like you agree with such a pitance... or that is how it reads -

Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
2 drunk police and former police injured in fight over female waitress By Petch Petpailin shouldnt that add up to 3? just love the ambiguity in thaigers reporters... specially numbskull 'Petch Petpailin' her titles are always misleading and once she cracked a joke about someones death -
Thai wage committee upholds 2.37% minimum wage increase
Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
doesnt even start to compete with inflation rate. try to plan a retirement on that or try to raise a family. 370bht a day 6 days a week is 8880bht a month not even your 15000. sucks to be thai... ridiculous salaries. i wonder how much the big fish from the tripartite get paid. -

Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
i think this is excellent news for the gay community. it will make inheritance much easier when one of the couple dies whereas before there were nothing but pitfalls. marriages are no longer about religious beliefs. i am no fan of all this lgbtqytr+ pronoun bs wokish stuff but i do believe in equal rights- 28 replies
