  1. Oh No... All the poor guys on here praying to open up back to normal!!!! Heaven to Betsy! Personally I prefer safer than sorry
  2. Anyone into serious computing will have multi-screen large displays with anti-glare screens, large hard drives, large RAM, fast CPU, full size keyboard and a large size mouse. Sitting at the beach with a puny 13 inch notebook is not high tech! Sounds like cheap Charlies, and look like cheap hippies
  3. They sure seem to think the rocks they are made of are. How is that any different?
  4. And what makes you the expert? Or maybe you read tea leaves, or crystal balls. They need volunteers for a leper colony you would be a perfect volunteer.
  5. YUPPP! Fully agree. You should know better than anyone here who and what you are dealing with. After spoon feeding them what incentive will they have to get back on their own two legs. For me, "her father is a van driver" says it all. These guys were made from the same mold. Ruthless and crappy drivers. To address your question, I would pay the landlord directly for the rent. No cash in hand ever. I learned that lesson with my ex-wife while we were getting divorced.
  6. Nah, the kid is infatuated. Very big difference.
  7. Yeah... I kinda got that... but the " compromised academic standards and Chinese students flouting their visa conditions." " compromised academic standards" is on the Thai Universities ... I worked in one... in no way will the students turn down a system that passes all students no matter how much they achieve academically... this is on the Unis. Dots on 'i's and cross on t's "and Chinese students flouting their visa conditions." How are they any different than the illegal foreigners working in schools in Thailand? The foreigners keep the salaries stagnated and they take up jobs that qualified people could assume... So, in a nutshell I still don't get the title 'cos I don't think the Chinese students should be the scapegoats for <deleted> education and a failed immigration program the relies on smart BMW's to do the agents' jobs...
  8. Chinese Students in Thailand: Cash Cow, At a Cost I don't get the title. It is not clarified the "at a cost" thing in this report. Once again misleading title ...
  9. Totally for this. If you love someone you shouldn't have to dance through hoops to get through the red tape in matters such as inheritance if loved one dies. Who knows maybe this will help with tourism...
  10. Hmmmm good idea! With all the new falang tourists coming soon and going straight to quarantine to bring back the medical tourism, sounds like a plan hatched out by a team of geniuses. Unfortunate for the unsuspecting tourists.
  11. Ain't that the truth. Once the borders open up tons of tourists will be in quarantine. Good plan on the part of the government. It will surely bring in the tourist bucks.
  12. ... or by what you are saying... going to school and not reporting it. Rock on to all those who want to get rid of the safety measures... As far as I am concerned the only way to overcome this is to keep the safety measures in effect. People who don't even have a stake here keep crying to open up the floodgates... Selfish mongers who only think of the party side of life in Thailand. anchadian said: "Despite increasing covid infection numbers due to the Omicron variant, Thailand is unlikely reimplement a nationwide lockdown or close its borders to international travelers, a senior doctor told Thai Enquirer on Thursday." Proof of mongers is in the pudding... because if the numb skull tourists who want to come on vacation here are covid + they will have to isolate and pay for treatment through the nose. I'm just sitting back watching what will unfold and when the time comes I will have a great big somnomna smile for the ones who rushed to open up.
  13. Not quite... he is eyeing his friend on the left's gold ring...
  14. On a side note... they stated today that they would designate areas where people would be allowed to consume for recreational purposes... Doesn't that imply that they will no longer be doing <deleted> tests for detecting drugs?
  15. And the Gvt is going to change their divulgation of daily statistics... me wonders why ???? Might it have to do with an expected increase of cases due to variants? ...or maybe because they need a foreign influx of cash... but then again ... dudn't the powers that be say that tourist money was but a drop in the bucket of this great economy?
  16. Only reason they are doing this is to keep the populace ignorant. I rather know what is really going on than be oblivious. Any here who said great news will be reborn as an ostrich in their next life. Ignoring the facts does not make them go away. In this case it is an attempt by the ruling power to gloss over any trace that they are messing things up.
  17. Co-payment scheme... money printing at its best. Taxes? Highway robbery at its best.
  18. Well... I stopped smoking it many years ago but I still fail to see why it is seen so negatively. All plants were put here on Earth for our use. With the antiquated mentality of many conservatives here many people still have to go around hiding to smoke it. Poppies make opium and without it many people would suffer useless pain. Legalize the plant and stop making it a crime to smoke or possess. And for those who condemn it because they were too sheepish to try it when they were young... get a life!
  19. I don't see how "dies on Xmas morning" is relevant here in th OP... Xmas means nothing to most Thais who are Buddhists... sadly this is just a click bait title to get foreigners to give their "I didn't know her but may she rest in peace" comments. May she rest in peace
  20. I can't believe people succumb to influencers and actually listen to what they say... Gullibility is an inherent trait that should be deleted from the DNA genome...
