Travel insurance warning after Welshman's motorbike crash
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
???? -
Certainly sounds like hassle. He just wasn't too bothered by the hassle, this time.

I'm not sure what your point is. If it was a Pit Bull, it probably would have been worse, and the fact that a non-Pit Bull dog can catch rabies, go crazy, and bite a load of people, does not stop Pit Bulls from being more dangerous. People will, of course, discuss how dangerous it is to have street dogs roaming the street generally (even non-Pit Bulls), but that won't lead to pages of argument as it doesn't trigger Pit Bull appreciators who believe them to be no more dangerous than a Labrador.

Absolutely. I didn't say it was necessarily a justification for people playing loud music and terrorising others.

?? I thought that was an interesting turn of phrase also. Based on the meanings of the words, she was "spreading out over a large area in an untidy or irregular way" "without realizing or being aware of [her] actions". So, it's possible, but a very odd thing to point out. Perhaps they were going for "sprawled out unconscious".

UK NHS Eligibility for Returning Expats
BangkokReady replied to nigelforbes's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
Presumably, once you return home you register. Doctor, voter's register, and so on. -
I don't believe you. When I searched, the results show many results that explain, psychologically/physiologically, why listening to loud music is pleasurable.

POLL: Do you think Brexit is a success or failure?
BangkokReady replied to Scott's topic in World News
It did, but they were marred by straight bananas, unfettered immigration and an overall lack of parliamentary sovereignty. (/s) -

Is Covid going or it it just Arriving
BangkokReady replied to ourdon's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Hasn't that been the case pretty much all along with the vaccine? I'm mystified as to why you would single out Faucci when saying something that is common knowledge. -

Or they wisely waited until at the least the vaccine rolled out and the disease became less lethal. There was no "We thought lockdowns helped but now we realised they don't", because they definitely did. -
Chiang Mai losing its appeal—how to manage? [long post/discussion]
BangkokReady replied to ThLT's topic in Chiang Mai
I'm not in any hurry to go there. I've been to Krabi. Beaches are nice, but they don't sound like the nicest parts of Thailand. They actually sound like the worst. -
Chiang Mai losing its appeal—how to manage? [long post/discussion]
BangkokReady replied to ThLT's topic in Chiang Mai
I hear it's nicer to look at than BKK with the mountains and such, but in my admittedly very short time there, it seemed very touristy and rip-offy. Possibly the least friendly and most glary area I have visited in Thailand also. Perhaps it is the kind of tourist town where the locals dislike the tourists, reluctantly put up with them for their money, and try to gouge them whenever they can, much to the disappointment of the "ex-pat community" (who generally despise tourists/other foreigners). -
It's been around for a while. You can look it up if you aren't aware of its meaning. Quite the opposite. As I said, look it up.

Whataboutism. Ad-hom. What is RBSC? Royal Bangkok Sports Club comes up when I Google the initialism with "Thailand". What would that even prove? That a few very wealthy high-class Thai people read? That actually supports the comment you are trying to disagree with, rather than disputing it. When people generalise about "Thai people", they aren't thinking of the hiso minority. Hence they are always labelled as such when they are the topic of discussion.
-
You'll need to provide a little more than the statistics from members of a library to do that. "Thai people who are members of a library like to read a lot" does not mean much for Thailand overall. What percentage of Thais are members of a library?

Visa agent not responding to calls
BangkokReady replied to Guderian's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not necessarily. Other people can mess up your plans pretty badly in a number of ways and it can be very much their fault.
