Loss of one period a day would be five a week. A school with 100 classes would lose 500 lessons per week. If there are ten subjects, that's 50 fewer lessons per subject per week. That's got to be enough to lay off a few teachers per school.

It's obviously easy to fall for a scam, and these people are probably very professional, but "we need you to send us your money so we can investigate it" just sounds so unbelievable. How would they even "investigate" it? The money doesn't exist physically. This must be the third one of these on here in a couple of weeks. Don't Thais read the press or pass around information about scams currently going on?

Quite astonishing to see someone who was once a firm populist, and whose followers tout democracy, to come to this.

The outcome of his intentions was to sexually assault or rape the girl... the fact that it was not committed makes it attempted rape. He followed her to her room, groped her and tried to force her into the room. He only stopped because she screamed. You don't have to be successful in a crime to be charged with attempting it. Also, @thesetat2013, how would coercing a minor into sexual acts be different to rape anyway?

Unfortunate to hear. There's nothing to suggest that foreigners are more likely to steal things than Thais, it just gets made into a big deal when it does happen. Sad that people are so easily swayed by biased press.

They're also taught that you can always trust Thai people.
