  1. Has anyone downloaded the Airasia app and managed to make it work. I keep trying but am unable to access Krabi to Bangkok schedules and costs.

I had five years of flying with Airasia between Australia and domestically in Thailand and when the Covid hit they had little chance of survival. Airlines such as Qantas, Singapore, British Airways and of course Thai all received enormous sums of public funds to survive, Airasia was on its own and its no wonder they are broke.

I hope they survive as without competition we will all pay much, much more.

  2. From Westpac Australia to SCB in Krabi took less than two minutes for my last four transfers, I usually send late at night as the Oz dollar is always better late evening  and before I have reopened the Wise app on my iPad to press I have made this transfer an email is in my inbox saying money received. This is followed by money sent , close the Wise app, open SCB and its there. No complaints from me and no, Wise is not paying me to promote them as claimed by a previous poster.

  3. I can only speak for myself but I have been using transfer wise funds for my last three marriage extensions without any problems.

When the Consulate stopped issuing income certs I went to my local Immigration Office and asked them what they required, 400K in the Bank was the reply.

I had read all the information on TV especially that posted by Ubon Joe so I acted confused and asked was the information I had wrong, my I O pulled out a thick book and leafed through it , made a phone call and then said O K , 40K a month from overseas.

I went to bank and obtained twelve month statement and looked at the codes applied to transfer wise , these were marked MCL00001, nobody in the Bank could tell me the meaning of this so back on TV, another poster had queried this with Kasikorn and it turns out that it denotes funds transferred by API system which is funds from external source.

I presented my IO with a single sheet summary of transfers, copy of bank statement with transfers neatly underlined, copy of bankbook pages and note referring to bank codes. This has been accepted without question for my last three extensions, no requirement for PDF copies or individual Bank letters apart from the usual covering letter.

My advice would be to approach your Immigration Office and try to get someone to listen , reading the reports from many posters it seems a futile exercise but you will never know until you try it.

So very thankful I live where I do...

  4. I was reading this thread last night and noticed the reported variations of transfer times. I have in the past had transfers from Australia happen nearly instantly and others that took over 24 hours. I initiated a transfer last night at 2130 local time, 0030 Australian eastern time and my iPad immediately pinged with Wise response saying money received , will be paid out in next minute, shortly after this message another saying taking a bit longer to process, no worry from me. Before going to bed I checked and found funds in SCB and looking at emails they informed me at 2210 funds sent. Looking at my overall transfers with Wise I have had no problems and will continue to use them.

  5. I have an old 2006 Ford Focus that I am very happy with, decent performance, cold air and quite economical. The only thing that is annoying me is the digital info screen has sort of faded in the centre and is becoming hard to read, very much like aircon remotes do. Has anyone had this problem and been able to get it fixed or seeing the car is so old should I just live with it ?.

  6. Called Roojai 28/04 and bought coverage, quoted VISA number and gave details as requested. I wondered why they only asked a few questions and was told their system identified me from my phone number as existing customer. An email was sent with Policy number virtually immediately and a few days later Postman was knocking on door for a signature for the paper policy from KPI. Totally hassle free, just hope I never have to claim, just saying I don't want Covid.

  7. Anyone want a Breitling Navitimer bought brand new thirty eight years ago In Bangkok. It still keeps perfect time, has had two or three new leather straps and people still comment on its appearance.
It cost less than $A 100 , who needs to pay more, by the way its not a fake, its a reproduction.

  8. Land around Chong Pli and Nathai offer some great views and far enough from main roads to be quiet. Prices are ridiculous but you pay for what you get.
