  1. Some of us must be very lucky, touch wood.

I have just done my fourth marriage extension and every year it has got easier, the first year required Witnesses, the second year. only copy of kor ror 22 which I forgot, all fixed within twenty minutes by quick trip to Amphur.  Last year was the proof of finances, Bank statement and copies of Transferwise receipts, all checked and accepted.

This year in at 8.30, I O wandered in with his coffee ten minutes later, handed over two sets of papers, and two not very flattering passport photos, he went through them and only asked a few questions but I had covered everything including source of Pensions, Bank letter and Statement only two days old, Transferwise receipts, all accepted . I then spent the next ten minutes signing every page, Wife only signed a couple of sheets he produced, signed another few forms and paid 2000baht, didn't bother about the 100 baht change.

Passport stamped for return 28 Aug for final stamp, out and off for breakfast at 9.50.

  2. I have bought quite a few items from Lazada and if I know what I want I always tick lowest prices first. You can find exactly the same item numerous times with an amazing range of prices, as said, buyer beware.

Just as an aside I bought four “Curren “ wristwatches for just over 100 baht total having had them before, they are very accurate but are pretty average quality and are good for a year or until the battery runs out, the same watch on eBay Australia is $79 , as said before, buyer beware.

  3. I live in Ao nang and say come on down, Hotels are opening and offering much better deals than the normal low season.

The beaches are still deserted and traffic is a fraction of normal, Restaurants are gradually opening and you will find plenty of good places to eat, if you want a couple of recommendations P M me. Don't forget its rainy season , we are very green at the moment...

  4. The length of time between conviction and execution in the USA is astonishing. To delay the execution for years seems to be standard and I often wonder why this should happen.
This latest plea is at the least facetious and how a Lawyer could propose it is laughable, but I suppose that is his job, next they will be claiming he is afraid of needles so it is cruel and unjust punishment.

  5. I read all these reports about fees for various services and shake my head at the blatant attitude of many offices. Nobody in power seems to care though I am sure it has been reported many times, big joke was the last chief who seemingly tried but where is he now. Luckily I live in the right place, my local Immigration only requires a polite request and a smile and a thank you five minutes later when they hand you the certificate.

Just counting I have had five over the past four years, no charge.

  6. 21 minutes ago, Brigand said:

Better close the Guardian newspaper too as that was founded off the profits of the cotton trade.

The Manchester Guardian was founded by the blunt talking, very rich Northern Mill Owners and Industrialists as an answer to the “ foppish” Southerners newspapers , It reported on the state of the nation and the world in an exemplary manner for years. Now it is based in the South and has become the woke persons bible, in other words it has become the very thing it’s founders would have abhorred.
