Debbie, as a falang lady you don't have to show money in bank/income like a male.

Just go with your husband to to immigrations and apply for 1 year extension of stay.

Bring copy your passport, visa, latest stamp and 1900 baht.

Your husband must go with with you bringing Thai ID, house book, photos inside home and outside with you and him (including house number)

He might be asked to show his bankbook (so he can provide you).

They will interview him (and maybe you) to get to know how long you stayed together etc.

In case of interview, have the same story (we meet bla bla, his fathers name is......but I call him papa, etc etc.)

Should not be a problem, because you are female.

I have found jalapeños in Makro, halfway between the bell peppers and the shittake mushrooms (not among the chillies).

The call them Mexican chilli, costs 69 baht/kg.

A crude method of determining the heat level of jalapeño is to visually observe the number of scars present on the skin.

Laboratory analysis of the above peppers showed them to have an average Scoville scale of 1980, 2350, 3620, 4450, and 7700 from the top pepper to the bottom.

I live in Chiang Mai, am married to a Thai, I'm 60, surpass the minimum income requirements, and have a Non-0 Marriage Visa. Immigration office here is C.M. is very helpful, and once it was approved, they smiled and told me "See you December 3".

I actually prefer the marriage visa as there's no "reporting every 90 days" as there is with a retirement visa. Do it once a year and that's it.

So I guess you got your extension of stay in December and have not made any 90-day reporting.

Bring 2000 baht for the fine (not making 90-day report) and go to immigration and make your 90-day report.

I also have extension of stay based on marriage.

A year or two ago during an extreme drought and heavy pollution in Chiang Mai the government sent the fire department out everyday and shot water up in the air for hours to reduce pollution.

I cannot even mention cloud seeding without the presence of clouds to produce rain.

I agree with some opinions expressed before. Let the sleeping dogs rest. Do not go anywhere. If the man lived for 40 years illegally here and didn't see his family for that long, he can safely keep on keeping on. It will be much less trouble for him at this stage of his life.

I am quite sympathetic to his predicament. If he were a Thai murderer, he would be probably subject to some leniency, pardon or statut limitations... but not a farang. Sometime I think Thai legal system is absolutely and unjustifiably beastly towards all farang.

He's not Farang. He's Taiwanese. That's an important difference. Taiwan is a regional trading partner and there has been a lot of work done on their relationship in the last 10 years.

Tara, I would start this with someone as high up in the Taiwanese embassy. The country is small enough that someone would probably help you. I would hope that they would then contact someone high up at Thai Immigration. I'm sure they will work out something to allow everyone to save face.

Getting a US visa after establishing Taiwan citizenship is no problem. I believe that Taiwanese have a 90 day landing visa.

I think the biggest issue here is not the overstay but how he can come back and live in Thailand.

He has 2 kids and live with my mom without legally married.

This will mean that he must show 800.000 baht in a bank to stay in Thailand. (400.000 if he gets married)

He doesn't own anything in Thailand.

This seems not be an option.

If they find out that he's been working without a WP then he can be thrown in jail.

My advice is to stay where he is.

Forget the 7 day extension is your case.

Because you are married to a Thai citizen, you can apply for extension 2 months for visiting your wife.

Used to have the black moon party right next door to my house years and years ago. We would find our house surrounded by garbage, people pooing and peeing in our garden because there weren't enough toilet facilities at the party and our door literally vibrated in its frame from the music it was so loud.

My friends laptop using firefox as browser stopped working.
