Chateau Des Brumes belongs to a vinyard in Korat province around Khao Yai. They used to fly in some French guy to supervise the harvest. Look up Village Farm Winery winery in google. There are quite a few vinyards in that area with resorts and steak houses attached. Its a very pleasant area, temperature wise, compared to Bangkok and lower Isaan and very popular with middle class Thais..

    Thank you :-)

It seems that they need to bring more French to improve, just like all Thai wine.

I wonder why all Thai winery keep trying ? Their wine is awful and even a Thai with taste won't drink it.

Knowing that China will be one of the top 5 biggest wine maker within 20 years and that Chinese wine will be one of the best, why Thai still try to do it, knowing that they have no chance to succeed at all ?

'Don't know what kind of phone you have, but on my iPhone you can get to your account via Settings.  With money on balance, you can then select add-on packages (e.g., data packages) from there.  (It can be accessed in English via a dropdown menu choice.  The UI might take some poking around to learn ...)  The easiest way for you to add to your balance is probably via 7-11 topup cards as mentioned above.   If you've got other needs, a trip to a DTAC center is probably the best way to go.

The "Unlimited" you're referring to probably refers to some package which includes data that goes with the initial purchase of the sim.  All you need to keep the voice/text going is adding to the balance, as you mentioned doing for AIS.  Use the 7-11 top-up cards for that.  If you want to keep the data going as well, at any reasonable speed or for any reasonable price, it's probably easiest to just visit a DTAC shop for a data package.  The data packages can be of a type that automatically renews monthly, and if so will do so if there's enough money left on balance, so be aware of that if you're planning to keep the sim and phone no. for use on later visits.  (These auto-renewing packages can also be cancelled from your account if you can access it via Settings as I mentioned in the 1st paragraph.  You might want to get someone in a DTAC shop to show you around that.)

Yes, it works exactly as anywhere else in the world. Nice that you take time to explain what I was thinking even Papuan people knew !

  3. Hello,

I bought what I was thinking was French wine without reading anything on the label except MIS EN BOUTEILLE AU CHATEAU, which as I learnt in the past, means that the wine is "pure" wine, not a mix, and that it is bottled in a French property.

But actually after feeling a weird taste, I found that this wine is made in Thailand here:

Never found before wine pretending to be French but actually made in Thailand, what about you ?

The laughable thing is that 99% of Thais don't drink wine yet this product attracts the highest percentage in tax and the real ""lao"" liver destroyer the least.

Could it be that this is another special tax on foreigners?

All Thai drink wine if you buy if for them :-)

With millions people having just enough to eat.

i was in this situation a long time ago. one extasy tablet. spent a few days in tonglor police station then off to court. if I knew what a dump the cells were at the police station I would've paid the bail money but I thought they were going to keep it so roughed the cells. also the police who caught me at the nightclub weren't taking a bribe. needless to say I haven't touched drugs since. (honest) 555 just not worth it over here, or anywhere for that matter, but hey. was young. when I went to court it was a small fine and out. no other issues. however, they did give me a receipt for the fine but also a letter from the court in thai. basically everytime I came into Thailand for the next 3 years the red light was put on and the more senior police would ask me to produce the letter. usually just laugh at me and let me pass. they did take me aside to check my bags once. this was nearly 20 years ago so maybe they won't do that anymore but they did it then. no hassle really. just having some police laugh at you and a load of people in the queue staring at you wondering whats going on

Thank you for the story, what was written on the letter ? that you took X ?

And how long did you stay in the cell before going to court ? How possible that 20 years ago they didn't accept few thousands on the spot ?

Ok that was simple, 2000 baht and sent him on his way.

Had to head to immigration afterwords to make sure he wasn't blacklisted and could leave the country.

He will be on the first plane leaving in the AM.

I had never posted here before and didn't want the title to be too long so in stead of "my friend" I wrote "me" to shorten it up.

I am happy that you are safe.

2000 thb only is what happens all the time, how much weed you had with you ? And you couldn't or didn't want to settle on the spot ?

Good that they didn't send you to have a stupid ridiculous therapy offered by people who do not even know what they are talking about !
