The fans should start about immediately if you start the car idle with AC on. If not, you have a problem either with fan motors or temperature switch. I replaced both my fans recently after the wife submerged the car in water.. They were sort of still running but at a very low speed/erratic. Motors were damaged. Engine will not overheat so quickly if you have a fan failure. There is still circulation of coolant. With a pump failure or air pockets however it will happen very fast.

Yes, they come in 2,3 and 5 terminals as far as i have seen. Excellent product IMO. Solid and compact. Fits anywhere.

Why? Since when? I have traveled to Cambodia on motorcycle a few times. Some paperwork on the border but it was definitely possible.
-
You are probably one of the first people ever to try a border run after obtaining an e-visa. Let us know the result if you do. I did something similar, but I did fly out and back in. Border runs wasn't possible/difficult at the time. Personally I would not chance it. It doesn't cost too much time or money to just fly to KL or SIN and back on the same day.

Getting a temporary residence certificate to sell a car in phuket
MajorTom replied to CrossBones's topic in Phuket
I have never been asked for a CoR to sell anything in Phuket. Never heard of it from anyone else either. Strangely, I was asked for one in Chiang Mai some years ago when i sold a motorcycle. If you absolutely need one, TMT Visa will sort it. I have used them several times. They have offices in Patong and Kathu. I think the price is 1500. -
I also talk from experience and its the opposite of yours. Passport number did not matter. Probably varies from different banks, branches etc. I was actually worried about this when i did a withdrawal from my SCB account a few days ago. So i also brought the old passport i used when opening the account with me just in case. They did not ask for it.

Don't think too much. In my line of work across the globe i have had visas issued for several countries from embassies I have never been to. This is completely normal practice. I also did get a Thai e-visa from my native EU country while in Thailand. Flew to Cambodia and returned on that visa with no issues. I have not been to Europe for years. Legal practice? Why not? I cant think of any good reason it would not be. Other than making things difficult for the sake of it. Where you are during this visa process makes zero practical difference.

Right and wrong. VA and Watts will be the same in a circuit with only resistive load. Including your example with heating elements. With inductive load (motors, transformers etc.) there will be a difference determined by the power factor of the components. Labeled as cos φ. Not very relevant for any layman using a household extension cord. Either way, stick to VA when calculating wire dimensions.

Getting an International Driving License in Thailand
MajorTom replied to ezzra's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
True. I did try when i lost my 5 year license and IDP due to visa issues. Not a chance. Source? I researched this quite extensively when i was stuck with the 2 year one. I could not find any support for this claim, and i did use it in other countries. Including car rentals as far as i can remember. -
Tourist e-visa application
MajorTom replied to WideWheels's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think that's just if you are not a national of the country you apply in. Just upload the passport front page to get past this point. Cant remember exactly what I did, but I'm a non-resident and got past this somehow. -
That's strange. One of the main reasons for being issued a second passport is to be able to travel if one is locked up in a visa or renewal procedure. At least that's what it states in the letter from my employer I have to show when i renew mine. (I have done what the OP intends to do several times, although not with a British passport) I can't speak for UK procedures. But if you have to send them both in at renewal, it would undermine the main point of being issued dual passports in the first place. Also, section 3 does not mention this exact situation. It lists expired passports, passports included as a child, and passports from other countries.

How long is a Thailand Pass valid ?
MajorTom replied to Baron Samedi's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
To be clear: Its not +/- anymore. You can not re-schedule to an earlier date. Only +3 days from planned arrival. -
How long is a Thailand Pass valid ?
MajorTom replied to Baron Samedi's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have the same dates as you. Approved and printed just a few days ago. It has now been revoked without notice. Replaced by a 3 day window from the 9th. If you scan the QR code, you will most likely see the same has happened to yours. I only checked because i happened to read this thread. God knows why the flying circus had to tamper with this.. and zero notifications. Well done ???? -
Apply for e-visa abroad?
MajorTom replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I had to choose passport country as current location. Thailand did not work. This was a while ago, the website has since been updated. You can now choose Thailand as current location. -
Apply for e-visa abroad?
MajorTom replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes, worked fine. No questions asked. Not in my experience. And this would not make any sense. That means you cant stop over anywhere on your way to Thailand if you have a visa. -
Apply for e-visa abroad?
MajorTom replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do you have any source for this? Not saying you are wrong, just curious. I have heard the same but could not find any confirmation for this claim. I even used my Thai address as permanent residence in the application, and it was approved. Would be a bit strange if it was illegal? This was a Non-immigrant visa though. I doubt you could get a tourist visa with resident address in Thailand. -
Apply for e-visa abroad?
MajorTom replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I was certainly able to get a e-visa from the Thai Embassy in my passport country while still in Thailand. Whether that's against some protocol or not I have no idea.
