  3. No one is talking about not addressing both issues. The point is the focus is too much “banging on” about Covid which is disproportional to,other areas of concern.
  4. “While politicians bang on about Covid their compatriots are lying dead in the road in their thousands. “ So much focus on something that predominately kills the very old while with pre existing conditions while over 12,000 perish on the roads.
  5. Fair play to the guy for detaining the weirdo and calling the Police. Most guys who found an oddball who had broken into their house and daughters bedroom to “hug her” would have kicked the sh.the out of him.
  6. Yes, no point living in the past. Things changing all the time
  7. https://news.sky.com/story/omicron-its-like-a-bomb-new-covid-strain-sweeps-through-south-africa-township-but-majority-of-hospital-patients-dont-need-extra-oxygen-12491084 Good read forperspective: Two thirds not requiring Oxygen One guy gives it a severity rating of 4 on a scale of 1-10. Everyone calls it flu.
  8. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional but your post comes across as pretty insensitive to all those who have lost their businesses, jobs, livelihoods and in some tragic cases their lives. The entertainment sector is a massive employer both in UK and particularly Thailand, which is what this thread is about, so keeping it on topic, families have been devastated and remain deprived of fully opening for work for a tiny number of infections/deaths in relation to the devastation it continues to cause, in addition to the massive disruption to education which the full impact will not be known for a whole, along with mental health issues and massive rise suicides. Obviously every death is a loss for a family but perspective is the key work and proportional, which at this time neither applies in Thailand imo who currently have 3 deaths/million of population over the past week due to Covid.
  9. I seem to recall a similar discussion a while back and one of the forum covexperts clarified the change. There were a lot of changes made to the recording, hard to keep track of them all. Bit like Boris flip flopping.
  10. My recollection is anyone who has died that has had covid registered within the past 28 days is classified as a covid death. That may he been updated since. If so I’m sure I will be corrected. .
  11. All too common these days sadly and along with the statutory negative (troll)voting. All you can do is hit the report button and hope it gets sorted. Been going on far too long and a massive deterrent for any new posters with opposing views to the “regulars”
  12. True say. I have a family member waiting for critical heart surgery and it’s been postponed twice and now say it could be another 6 months due to backlogs. The days of face to face appointments seem to be a thing of the past.
  13. No reason at this time not to. The country is in a reasonably strong position Covid wise at this time. Deaths numbers and new infections continue to fall sharply and only one isolated Omicron case, so far, and contrary to some belief he took all the necessary safety precautions so hopefully no others from that source. Although I did see they are awaiting results from one positive case connected to determine what strain it is. I see now post above all 17 have been tested negative so more good news. Early indications are that Omicron is likely not the devil they first thought so I’m sure they feel confident announcing NYE events will go ahead. Hopefully further easing of restrictions will follow and they sort the school situation out in some areas and get more consistency and less panicking.
  14. Not true. The one 2 days before arrival to the UK can be a PCR or lateral flow test result. The one 48 hours after has to be a PCR
  15. Stop exaggerating One poster has already gave an example of where that isnt the case. His was actually cheaper at the airport that what Boots charge.
  16. “What we know now is that Omicron likely spreads more easily, but early data suggests it’s less fatal as well – especially among the vaccinated.” Good he is confirming other early data. Hopefully some of the hysteria seen will calm down.
  17. Pretty sure they will have a get out in the small print somewhere to mitigate against any larger claims, which must be the case as it looks like he has gone to the media as he is trying for compensation. Think anyone booking now would get a flex ticket with the number of variables that could go wrong and possible changes
  18. Latest data from worldometer shows another fall of 22% in the number of deaths over the past week showing 3 deaths/million of population placing Thailand at 91st in the world and 20th in Asia. Comparing the above to the Philippines and Vietnam who are 10th and 6th respectively in Asia, with the latter still showing a large increase in deaths over the past week. Same table shows a reduction of 17 % in new infections. In Thailand over the past week. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/weekly-trends/#weekly_table 91 Thailand 33,675 40,557 -17% 481 232 298 -22% 3 70,050,291
  19. Not credible. There isn’t an “a” in the month ????
  20. I know. You could go on all day re the hypocrisies of some of the posts but in the interests of keeping it on topic it’s sometimes best to ignore. Im not sure why some people can’t be honest and say they choose their content that suits their narrative rather than some lame reasoning when it don’t suit and dig themselves a hole.
