Contrast that, which I do not doubt is true, with the various threads on here where people say that it is not possible to live in Thailand on less than 60K, 80K or whatever daft figure they come up with.

There are many videos online by people in the US who live in their cars. I remember one woman who was employed as an aircraft technician who work on Boeings but she could not afford to rent.

As you drive in to the Andaman Club ignore a signpost directing you to a car park on the right. Keep heading towards the waterfront. There is another car park there and I have never had a problem getting a space. The immigration/ticket building is adjacent to that car park. First go to the immigration window which is straight ahead as you walk into the building. The ticket people will not sell you a ticket unless immigration have given you the nod of approval. The ticket desk is about five metres away to the right. There is an ATM in the building. The ferries are hourly but I do not know the time of the last ferry back. The ferries are quite impressive with three 250 horsepower outboards and the crossing only takes about ten minutes each way. There is nothing much of interest at the Andaman Club. I don't gamble but there is a second rate duty free shop selling cigarettes with strange names. Generally I skip the golf cart ride up the hill to the club and just wait at immigration for the next ferry back. On the day I travelled in September I was the only farang there. The others were mostly Andaman Club employees and perhaps the odd gambler. On arrival back at the Thai side you need a completed arrival card and after receiving a new stamp you are on the way back to Phuket. I have a Non Imm O multiple entry visa. I cannot speak to how they deal with other categories.

It was open in September; albeit with hefty price hikes from pre-covid times. I recommend you use the Andaman Club as opposed to the port. Price pre-covid was 1000 Baht. When I crossed there in September 2600 Baht.

I agree. I use DHL for Thailand to UK now. I gave up on Thai post as they have proven to be too slow and unreliable.

Thailand Launches Drone Project to Enhance Farming
In the jungle replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This must be about the kickback on the drone sales. I live in a rural area where farming is the main source of income. Drones are not that expensive. If drones offered real value they would be here already. -
Suella achieved nothing as Home Secretary. She is all hat and no cattle.

A study of more than 400,000 UK road accidents found that when “risky or aggressive manoeuvres” played a part in collisions, there was a significant statistical difference in driver culpability across different brands. Dodgy driving – covering such reported infringements as speeding, jumping a red light, overtaking on double white lines or ignoring the humble pedestrian crossing – was more likely to be a factor when a Subaru, Porsche and BMW was involved than a Skoda or Hyundai. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/nov/11/bmw-subaru-and-porsche-drivers-more-likely-to-cause-a-crash-study-finds

Do you mean Crossy the Electric Man? He too deserves a special mention IMO.

To be honest I think anyone who has a long block list should start wondering whether the problem is with them.
-
I thought we were besties.

Why would I want to block you?
-
On the subject of blocking people in sixteen years on this forum I have only ever blocked three people.

The problem Khun LA is that on some topics, such as EVs, your truth is another man's lies and vice versa. Each side takes an entrenched position and is unwilling to recognise that there is some truth in each position. Basically forum members here are reluctant to enter a reasonable discussion and are reluctant to understand or recognise that there are valid view points other than their own. This is by no means confined to the subject of EVs.

The OBD2 connector will be under the dash and within a prescribed distance from the steering column (from memory something like 30cm). This was originally a US regulation but it has been pretty universally adopted.

The Met Police WON'T ban Poppy Day pro-Palestine rally
In the jungle replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
I read in the news this morning that among those supporting the Met Commissioner's decision and the right to freedom of speech and peaceful protest are Nicholas Soames, former Conservative cabinet minister and grandson of Winston Churchill and also the charity arranging the ceremony at the cenotaph. Quite right too. -

Still hasn't paid the plebs their 10K. -
Clearly you do not have enough Social Credit with the Chinese Communist Party to be allowed that level of functionality.

Isn't this Papa Al territory? But I think broadly speaking the answer is buy another bike if you want an easy life.

1. The funds do not have to be in a Thai bank. They can be in a foreign account. It appears no seasoning of funds required. 2. The paperwork required at Savannakhet is minimal whereas if you apply in country the paperwork is voluminous. 3. No under consideration period or home visit. 4. No re-entry permits or ninety day reports required. Doubtless there are other benefits but those are off the top of my head.

I considered that but in Thailand I think there is a high probability it will be stolen. I know they have security measures such as PIN codes but the thief probably will not know that.

Honda HRJ216. Expensive. All parts readily available from a Honda dealer and the boss daddy of walk behind lawn mowers in Thailand. I have an HRJ216 as my back up mower. The mower I use most is an imported Honda ride on mower but some parts may need to be imported from abroad hence the back up mower. Thankfully I have not needed any imported parts for the ride on in the last decade. Anything less that 2 rai don't bother with the HRJ216. It would be overkill.
