Pogba, Lingard, Martial and now Rashford, all with the same poor attitude, poor work ethic and ultimately not making the most of the ability they all had. As a fan it's sad to see them not fulfil their potential. I hope Rashford finds another team and does well for them, but he will, or should always regret, not playing well enough to make him the main man at United.
Indeed.
Overpaid and poor work ethic.

Yeah, not accepting a sim is strange for a phone, most baked bean cans nowadays accept sim...😎
I'll get it looked at in Ban Dung next time I visit.

I'm surprised you got a cellphone for 700 baht...
I'd expect something more like this for that money:
And regarding the heat, I agree. My smart watch didn't like the 40+ temp either. Kept on shutting down to 'save internal workings'.
Sometimes you have to pay a bit more to get decent quality. But I think this heat would even kill off them!
I tend to stick with known brands for electronics. Other stuff not so much. So far so good.
Strange your phone won't accept a sim. Have you checked with any sim provider to find out why? I know there are a few differing sizes but unsure about formats/upgrades etc that can cause this to happen.
I remember some earlier digital cameras couldn't accept later model memory cards... software problems and different technology.
Hopefully someone can sort your sim problem.
The SIM was the one being used in the last phone. I'm not too much bothered for the calls as I've got me trusted Nokia for that. It's not great with taking pics though.
Don't make em like they used to.

I've never tried it myself either but I've read in a few places that it can work wonders for drying phones out that is.
The problems with the last phone started at the beginning if the hot spell. I would whip out the phone, only to be told it was too hot to take a pic. Started putting it in the freezer for just a few minutes before going out. Worked a treat. But I left it there overnight. You can guess the rest.
My new mobile looks the biz, but it's not very good. Will not accept a SIM, and the pics are crap. Waste of 700 baht.

Congeatulations, of sorts… 🤣
You’re officially a Facebook celebrity 🤔
Wow!!!!!
Looks like I'm gonna be famous again. And there was me trying to keep me head down.
I met a lady on a train a few years back. She was looking intently at me. I smiled.
''Are you Owl the painter?''
''Why yes madam. Back in the day.''
''You painted my kitchen way back in 1980. 69 Acacia Avenue.''
''I don't recall it. Did I do a good job?''
''Never mind about that. When you coming round to see your son?''
As I say. Trying to keep me head down.

Did you try sticking the old phone in a bag of rice Owl and see if you can save it?
I didn't Owl. The phone seemed OK when it thawed out, but the battery wouldn't charge more than 16%. Then went to zero withing seconds.
Took it to the phone shop and the expert said that it wasn't a proper battery and advised me to get a new phone. I've still got the old phone. It was better for pics than this new one. I'll get a couple of pics together tomorrow. Perhaps someone has an idea.

Welcome back Owl, I was starting to wonder if you’d run off with the hat lady 😱
No such luck HP. And she is looking so,,,!
Been a bit disjointed with me turning the old mobile into a block of ice and waiting for the new one. But it's onward and upwards from now on. And any thoughts of a new car out of the reckoning for now. Luckily.
Next battle is agreeing what to do with the euca cutting. Life is not as smooth as it should be right now. Mildred off school tomorrow. We will go to farm in the afternoon.

Well documented by the South Africans in their ICC submission. Big section on 'intent'.

51 minutes ago, Wobblybob said:"Israel will be history" sounds very anti-Semitic, do you have a problem with Israel securing the safety of their citizens and do you agree that Israel has a right to defend itself.
I am anti Israel. What it stands for, what its intentions are and what it is actively doing to the rightful people of the land. Including the murder of women and children.
Have the Semites in Gaza not have the right to resist their oppressors?

Palestine has always been home to Jews , they were forced out by the Romans and Muslims many years ago .
Most Israelis are not of European descent , many are Arabian descent
It is the Israelis of European decent that are causing the mayhem.
But times are a'changing and soon, IMO, Israel will be history. They have dug a big pit for themselves and they can't now get out.

original Semites in this
They haven't no .
And they still can fish in the sea .
Dear me Nick mate. Palestine was once the home to the Palestinians. Christian, Jews Islamists and any others. Their land has been stolen by the Europeans. Herded like sheep into a prison called Gaza. Surely the Palestinians have a right to resist their oppressors.
The UK did some bad things when they were top doggies. If this 'war' turns into WW111 - which it could - it will go down as the worst by far.

Settlements in the West bank is a different area and a different topic
So the people in Gaza have not had their homes stolen? They can look over the fence and see their old land. They used to be able to fish in the sea too,

Owl Log : Tuesday morning : 21-05-2024
Out with the old. In with the new. No!! Not the wife; my mobile phone.
What a cracker!? It certainly looks the part.
Nice gold trim. Not too heavy. Long battery life. That's the upside. Can't get it to recognise a SIM. The pics are not are good as my last phone; the one that was left in the freezer over night. And I'm finding it difficult to change settings. Good job I have Mildred. And just like any Thai kid over the age of two; she is a phone wizard.
Been snapping way; altering the pic setting (trying to) as I go.
This was my very first pic. Taken at Global House on Saturday last.
Just haven't stopped experimenting.
Far too much something or other. Or not enough maybe!
Nowhere near sharp enough.
Too much brightness?
Seems like the phone does better close-ups.
More grasshoppers.
Bought a load of cheese at the cheese shop. Then it was onto Big C for some odds and sods.
Don't even ask.
Into Big C's restaurant for a feast of sausages.
Mildred experimenting with me new mobile.
Called in to see a regular poster for a flying visit. Then it was time to head out of Udon.
Passed Sum Sao Wat. Had a butchers upstairs.
Building work in progress.
All the window dressings had been taken down.
Plenty of chairs at the ready.
Two items I'd not seen before.
69 and his buddy.
A gong for calling things to order.
Chelsea had her birthday on Sunday, Just a small party.
That's her with her ipad pressie. Already an expert at five years old.
The leccy bike got delivered last week.
It's a Sagasonic (number 9). Top speed 35 kph. Battery life 70km. With reverse and security locking. It's the biz. Mrs Owl says it will be handy for going to Buddha; all of 200 metres away.
A fantastic sunset one day last week. Just fortunate to be out there at the right time.
+++++
That's 4 on the trot for City. A record, not just for the EPL, but for English footy. What a match we have, to see who is gonna take the last promotion place from the Championship. Peacocks v Saints.
+++++
A death and a wedding at the village last week. Guy of 50 died. Not unexpectedly as he had been seriously ill for a year or so. And a lady in her 40s tied the knot, or jumped the broom, with her new 4th hubby.
+++++
So F1 racing is coming to Thailand after all. Not a street circuit like last time; but a proper track near Hua Hin. Can't wait.
+++++
I reckon we have had at least 6 leccy power outs in the last week. Longest was on Friday. Leccy went off at 11am and we didn't get it back on till 5-30pm. On a particularly hat day. I went to farm and did a bit of pottering about.
+++++
Had a violent thunder storm on Sunday evening. Some rain.
+++++
The palm nuts are falling from so many trees at the mo. Signs are that we will be cutting soon. Mrs Owl wants to chop all the eucas next month. I want to cut 25%. And same next year. That way we get an income every year. Has the new car been forgotten?
+++++
Still trauma all around. Not in Thailand though. Is there a better place to be in the whole wide world than Isaan?
Only one thing left to say; bye ya'll.

Did Israel not start Hamas up, and fund them for years?

Israel is where all the Iranian, Moroccan , Sudanese , and many other Arab Countries Jews fled to .
Jews originate from Arabia , do you originate from Thailand ?
It was - and still is - the Europeans that were/are rampaging across Palestine evicting Semites from the land and forcing them out of their homes.
If some foreigner did that to any reasonable person they would expect some resistance.

Then the return of land taken by settlers, and forming a Palestinian State would be the next best thing.
One country, one person one vote, equality for all. Everyone getting along no matter what god is worshiped. Like it was before Palestine was over run by Europeans. If Israel don't wake up and smell the coffee, even that might not be possible.
The writing is on the wall for the regime.

For me, the biggest win for City was winning away against Spurs (two games ago). Without this win, Gunners would be champs.

New standards are being set.
Don't want them to win for the next 10 years though.
