When there is a waiting period for new cars, why would one think they's been sitting around for months for waiting to ship? As I understand it, the manufacturer's warranty starts from the date the first owner receives it. If someone is selling a "new" car without a new car warranty, while it might be a great deal, the car is not new.

If I bought an older vehicle with an automatic transmission and no service records, I would then take it to B-Quik (or some-such) while the oil is very hot and have them do the "re-refine" filtering/flushing process. Then, after driving it for over a thousand km I would take it back to B-Quik (or some-such) and have them drop the pan, replace the strainer and change it to the correct, factory specified fluid. Then after driving it another ten thousand km I would take it back to B-Quik (or some-such) and have them change it with the correct fluid again.

Not sure where you drive, but I see them all the time on concrete roads, so not just on black top.

Nice new pumps and convenient to where I fuel and have the car washed. I think I was getting better milage, but have not checked in a while, and it takes a lot of data to really see a difference. Yes, I have a member for PT, a small discount on fuel, 50% off on 10 drinks month at their PunThai coffee shops and 10% of Coffee World shops. I like the PunThai shops and where I get the car washed it is huge and has great seating, which works out nice. My wife has the Blue Card and does something with the points.
