Climate change: July set to be world's warmest month on record
Yellowtail replied to Social Media's topic in The Green Forum
Apparently, the hottest ever, is actually the hottest ever in the last 150 years. How funny is that? NASA Clocks July 2023 as Hottest Month on Record Ever Since 1880 | NASA -
(I need clean) Ice Ice Baby!

It requires a water line, so you'd need to buy an inline filter. -

Does the fridge have a reservoir you refill or a water line that attaches directly? Most have reservoirs you refill. -

It is also factual that as planet warms, everyone is getting older as well. -

In any event, I don't know why they are moving north, but I agree that a changing climate could well be at least one of the reasons. Loss/change of habitat could be another reason. Changing habitats in the north could be a reason. Introduction of a preditor in the south could be a reason. Resistance to pesticides could be a reason. Pollution could be a reason. I think an "expert" would be able to provide the other reasons, but the writer only needed one. You link to the article and act is factual, yet it looks to be nothing but clickbait to me. That is where I get the idea that you "eat it all up". You claim that you "...look at the facts and evidence available not make believe like flat earthers." yet you seem to define any article you agree with as factual. -

So, you don't know. I thought it would be obvious to anyone not blinded by their ideology. That said, it could be fake what with Photoshop and whatnot. The article(s) said (I am paraphrasing) that the "experts" thought climate change was accelerating the move north, correct? This would indicate they were already moving north, correct? -

I have great power, and have not had any outage for months, and then it was momentary. Had great power at my last two places as well. Where do you live that you have bad power? -

Do you really not know what he was showing with the two different weather graphics? What I do not like about the mosquito, fire, immigration, homelessness etc. stories "blaming" global warming, is that it always seems like a cover for failed policies, programs or management. Sure, they can blame everything on global warming and (apparently) you will eat it up, but a lot of people (flat-Earthers or otherwise) don't. They see it as incompetence hiding behind a hot-button issue. The mosquitos are and have been moving north for a number of reasons, climate could well be one, but why is that the only reason they site? -

Yellowtail replied to Social Media's topic in The Green Forum
The Earth is warming for a number of reasons, including human activity, do you believe otherwise? Solar activity is not constant. Do you even understand what constant means? I don't believe it is. Do you have anything that supports this? -

So even the writer knew it may not have been accelerated by climate change, but no doubt the climate angle helps sell their work. In any event, the statement at least implies that the "disease-carrying tiger mosquitoes..." would be advancing through northern Europe even without climate change, albeit at a slower pace. yes? -

I don't doubt for a moment that warming allows some pests to move northwards, nor did I say or imply anything contrary to that. I don't know if the article is true or not, but I do know that only a fool would consider it proof of anything. It amuses that that you guys all assume everything you read that reinforces your ideology is a fact. -

You don't know for a fact that it was a science experts. There are education majors who work in the field of climatology to study how climate change affects habitat, and we all know about them... -

Confession Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose woman. The priest asked, "Is that you, little Johnny Parisi? Yes, Father it is. And who was the woman you were with? I can't tell you, Father. I don't want to ruin her reputation. Well, Johnny, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later, so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti? I cannot say. Was it Teresa Volpe? I'll never tell. Was it Nina Capeli? I'm sorry but I cannot name her. Was it Cathy Piriano? My lips are sealed. Was it Rosa Di Angelo, then? Please, Father, I cannot tell you. The priest sighs in frustration. You're very tight lipped, Johnny Parisi and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot attend church services for 4-months. Now you go and behave yourself. Johnny walks back to his pew, and his friend Nino slides over and whispers, What'd you get? Four months vacation and five good leads ! -

Do you really not understand that "Health experts" is a completely subjective term? It could be anyone the writer considers (or pretends to consider) a health expert. And they can ask as many "experts" as they like until they get the quote they want. There is absolutely NO accountability. And NOW it's fine for non-climate scientists to comment on climate change? What is factually correct is that the writer made a comment that may or may not be true, but that only a fool would consider factual.
