Climate change: July set to be world's warmest month on record
Yellowtail replied to Social Media's topic in The Green Forum
So even the writer knew it may not have been accelerated by climate change, but no doubt the climate angle helps sell their work. In any event, the statement at least implies that the "disease-carrying tiger mosquitoes..." would be advancing through northern Europe even without climate change, albeit at a slower pace. yes? -

I don't doubt for a moment that warming allows some pests to move northwards, nor did I say or imply anything contrary to that. I don't know if the article is true or not, but I do know that only a fool would consider it proof of anything. It amuses that that you guys all assume everything you read that reinforces your ideology is a fact. -

Brian's article said "health experts" and said nothing of climate scientists. Try to follow along. -

The writer is (apparently) a freelance jounalist that writes stories for a living. He is neither a health expert, not a climate change expert. adam plowright - Google Search -

You don't know for a fact that it was a science experts. There are education majors who work in the field of climatology to study how climate change affects habitat, and we all know about them... -
Worst Joke Ever 2025

Confession Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose woman. The priest asked, "Is that you, little Johnny Parisi? Yes, Father it is. And who was the woman you were with? I can't tell you, Father. I don't want to ruin her reputation. Well, Johnny, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later, so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti? I cannot say. Was it Teresa Volpe? I'll never tell. Was it Nina Capeli? I'm sorry but I cannot name her. Was it Cathy Piriano? My lips are sealed. Was it Rosa Di Angelo, then? Please, Father, I cannot tell you. The priest sighs in frustration. You're very tight lipped, Johnny Parisi and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot attend church services for 4-months. Now you go and behave yourself. Johnny walks back to his pew, and his friend Nino slides over and whispers, What'd you get? Four months vacation and five good leads ! -

Do you really not understand that "Health experts" is a completely subjective term? It could be anyone the writer considers (or pretends to consider) a health expert. And they can ask as many "experts" as they like until they get the quote they want. There is absolutely NO accountability. And NOW it's fine for non-climate scientists to comment on climate change? What is factually correct is that the writer made a comment that may or may not be true, but that only a fool would consider factual. -

The article was not by an "expert", it was by a for profit news agency. That you do not understand that explains a lot. -

Dude is talking about 40-50 square meters of tile. Assuming it is only 10cm thick (not likely) that's 4-5 cubic meters of concrete, or about ten to twelve tons. It almost certainly has reinforcing mesh, which means just breaking it up is not going to be a party, much less toting it out and hauling it off. Now site-work has to be done, the soil recompacted, graded, forms built, mesh laid and 4-5 cubic meters of fresh concrete delivered and like wheel-barrowed in, screeded, floated and troweled-off. I agree absolutely that the results would likely be better, but that is a good bit of work for a guy working by himself that has no equipment or experience. Setting tile is not difficult or complicated, but everything is heavy, and it is hard work.

Does your wife own it? If you can get concrete delivered, I would throw some wire down and dump 75mm on top of it and screed it off.

TOA has a lot of 2-part industrial coatings. Have used hundreds of gallons of TOA Epoguard Enamel Epoxy and it is a great product, but it will chalk in the sun, as will most epoxies. If you are painting over existing paint, be advised that the new paint will only stick as well as the old paint it is going over. I would use this:

It may not be in the "quick installation guide", did you google your model number for the PDF manual? My old washer and dryer are Electrolux, great product and service. Fixed the washer since I got the new one and I am in the process of re-configuring the laundry room so I can use both washers and dryers depending on the load...

As someone else pointed out, it is likely not draining correctly/completely. Make sure the drain-pipe is clear, and the evaporator is installed such that it drains completely. Running the unit in "Fan" mode for an hour or two now and then helps a lot.

Were it me, I would go out and measure a wide variety of washer-drier combos to determine what size the opening should be. I would not design an opening such that you are severely limited on replacements. Trimming the opening for a cleaner look should be easy enough. Keep in mind, in the event it has to be repaired it will have to be pulled out. Best to have a track/receptacle/stops on the floor that aligns with the feet and that will keep it from walking and protect the cabinets from damage. I bought a new washer and dryer a few months ago. Your unit should include something similar to this in the installation section of the manual:
