Im in as much control I can be for now, not so much before. Taking control of your mind, what you think, how you think, and how you manage to remove negativity makes the difference. Economy safe, stability, dicipline, healthy routine, lifestyle and diet helps to take control

Cost of having a house built?
Hummin replied to Gottsy's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Living country side, we ordered all materials, got all the vouchers, points, bonuses, picked materials on sale etc. Thai standard means single block house, traditional construction, self made kitchen, 2 showers, 3 cheap chinese toilets. I never had any intention of building a falang palass, and everything is functional, with great outside areas. Inside western Kitchen and outside thai kitchen, balconies, Important to remember, what you build in Isaan, you never get your money back if you have to leave. Keep it simple build like a local. We have one isulated bungalow, 4 aircon rooms, big garage work shop, built on 4 rai land 288m2 for less than 1,5 million included the land -

You can build block huse thai style, 10cm concrete floor ( they will try to convince you 7cm is standard) concrete posts, steel frame, cheepest roof, cheapest tiles, doors, window, no insulation, Include thai style outside kitchen, and 2 thai style batrooms. 12x12m 144m2 rough calculation 700k total, and from there you can add aircons, insulation, more expensive tiles, windows, doors ++++ This is thai standard village construction company and quality. No contract no drawings A bit more fancy construction company on contract, architect drawings 1,3 million, no electric work done, no kitchen, no bathroom included, just raw house, roof, windows and doors. It is very hard to know what is included and not, as well quality of materials. We choosed thai village style. Horrible quality but livable for as long I plan to stay there. + is easy maintenance and cheap. -

You do not even know how bad it sounds do you? The land called Isreal have used to be an metropol where many religions and coultures have trived, and I think the situation was better during the Ottaman Empire. Some historians seems to refer to a more equal period. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_the_Ottoman_Empire

It is way better options when it comes to food at Koh Phangan than Hua Hin, and at Koh Samui international flights to KL. KL is my favorite city in Asia when it comes to international cuisine, and or BKK, Tokyo and Chiang Mai as well Denpassar. Koh Samui 30min boat ride -

Appreciate your polite feedback when I'm not clear in my reply so you understand what I meant. Apologise for that. I can't stay in cities or Isaan for longer periods before I get the urge to get out of there, and make a holiday or longer weekend trip for a change from my daily life. -

When we talk about quality of life, we do not talk about running around like a tourist, we are settled with hobbies, and normal on daily basis activities, as well go out and eat lunch and dinner a few times a week at max. a gym is 60 or 150 baht is way down on my list for what is important. I can do well just with anchors and elastic power bands to maintain my physics. I still enjoy the social aspect of joining a gym. There are plenty of quality gyms at Koh Phangan. And to be true, the quality of restaurants in Koh Phangan was surprisingly high, combined with Macro, I can do well for months before I have to leave for a roundtrip. Can't say the same for Pattaya, Chiang Mai or Hua Hin, or Isaan for that sake where we travel at least once a month for holiday or a long weekend. -

Hua hin is quite expensive for decent standard in my opinion, but with a decent budget I put Hua Hin above Pattaya and Chiang Mai. Still with larger budget, Koh Phangan anytime. I have choosed Isaan with a larger budget, gives more freedome having large land, no neighbours, 288m2 buildings and outside facilities, including garage and gym. -

In Isaan our basic living costs is 30k a month including pay my wife parents who work a few days a week for us. That include food for our live living stock to as well 4 pets. When we are not there, we transfer 20k a month for her parents to live at hour farm which cover pay, food for everyone and electric. I wouldnt live on 30 k in Koh Phangan, even my bungalow at that specific beach was 5k a month pluss electric and water. That doesnt give much room for a decent life. I would rather lived in Pattaya on low budget than an Island. Or Chiang Mai -
