Maybe better said, trying to find a meaning thats was not there in the beginning! People have a tendency to create a meaning out of nothing, just for the ego sake. If Buddha came today, or Jesus, they both would be outrageous and angry to learn and see what people have done in their name! Not to mention how complex their meaning have become, and also huge businesses in their names misleading and exploiting poor people in their names, and and often protects the more wealthy.

Where do foreigners fit in the Thai hierarchy?

True, very true, and if they also manage to speak almost fluently, they will bee seen different. Same the other way around, and a reason I never speak Thai if I do not need to, to locals in Thailand. I know I will never be able to understand completely, and speak fluently. I prefer to speak english, and most Thais who have learned english is very happy to use their skills. My wife learn Norwegian now, and she will speak fluently in 6 months, even before she attends any school, which is the plan for next year when we will move here. She already speaks fluent english,so learning Norwegian is not that hard for her. -
Just dont let your ego trouble you with diving deep, and deeper in to philsophy, religion or life teachings, just for the feeling of understanding. Life is what it is, and you cant really fight it by understanding the "true meaning of life" For bad habits, quit one add a new one 😉 Just make sure the new habit is better than the one you replaced

who of you two is more happy than the other in each other places? My wife is most happy with her family close around here, In Norway she is looked as a prostitute. Nobody says it, but thats what everyone thinks, and Im sure the same around in Thailand, but in Thailand it doesnt bugging me, here home in Norway, it kind of getting ounder my skin. How is Thai ladies and their husbands looked at in your own mother countries? Is it different from Thailand? -

Very few thais have asked me about my life, my opinions, what Im Thinking, and I found out thats how it is, so I agree with Charlie! It is your presence right here now thats matters to them, and how they percieves you! Simply put your past is no interest to them. They judge you for who you are now, what you do now, your car, your house, how wisely you spend your money, status symbols, cars, house, locationand how you take care of your wife and how you treat the family. If you are a single man in thailand, something is wrong with you, no man should live alone, be alone, and every man need avwoman in their life to take care of them. Our reality of living with minimum resources and really fighting for our survival, have created the need to be greedy, have ego, collect, save, build bigger and stronger. Most of us who are looking for our inner self, have a luxury problem, where we do not need to fight anymore. I think we should allow ourselves to be who we are and think there is nothing wrong with us, and realise our main problem is boredom and too much spare time to think. Well, that's what I think now, after having spent my time searching for something else in life, both in ego sports, and also the more spiritualistic end of it. Everything have its time, but do not waste your time, spend it wisely, happiness is maybe not what you think it is
