  2. I always had insurance and IDP by recommendation from our own traffic department, so please show me the correct link with a valid inforation. I know several brits continue to say we do not need, and if it is a british agreement or not, you need to provide the proof
  3. Is there different rules for brits than rest of the Europe? I need IDP when have Norwegian License, and my license shows multiple languages inc English
  4. Or people is just to lazy or stupid to realize the responsibility lays with them! I thought this problem have been highlighted for years in UK media, and not any new issue! You want a basic cheap insurance you buy a cheap insurance and get what you pay for. Always excuses
  5. It would be so in Nordic countries, but anywhere else? Thats what valid travel insurance cover, when you do things that is included in your insurance. Every new passport holders should have a mandatory seminar to got their passport in first place.
  6. Stay off trafficked main roads, take your time, full face helmet always best and safest, as well pants and jacket with protection. Komine is a ok brand. Rain is not your enemy, you dry up quick, fog and wet visor blocking your sight is. Make sure you have a helmet where that do not happen. You can treat your visor with anti fog, or a little drop with dish wash and polish that gently in.
  7. Amara Bang Rak is tempting, but the rooftop swimming pool is not that great really, and last time very crowded, and did not have any shadow for us at the available sun beds. Great breakfest and back then 2700 for a night
  8. No, you need to cancel your work visa before a new visa is given.
  9. Great hotels, but both outside my budget, where the riverside was 7k and Sheraton 20k but thanks ????
  10. As a sceptic, you should be sceptic to everything you read, and it sounds strange to me if they did not give any at all. When hurt, there is a possibility she still feel great pain even after given medication.
  11. Those Mercure hotels is promising This one seems ok, even a bit out https://www.google.com/travel/hotels/s/Cegp8ecgdM3hfmyq6
  12. With my criteria it is narrowed down quite alot to less than 50 if you add rating above 8 as well.
  13. Married, and if I was going on a date I would choose 800 - 1200 baht hotel maximum which I did when I meet her and for a long time, and never spent shameless money for many years.. So everything after that comes as a surprise.
  14. Marriot and Amara hotels
  15. As the title say, best value Bangkok Hotel? Criteria Central placed with restaurants and shopping. Quiet Parking Gym Decent pool (rooftop/bar/restaurant) Western breakfest (bacon/cheese/youghurt/fresh bread not white toast 3000 +- for night My favorite hotels is priced out at 5000,- +++ at the moment
  16. I guess those who choose paying tax in Thailand, do it because they get refound from their orign tax paid in the orign country. I pay tax in my orign country because I work there.
  17. I guess this is what most dream about, and after 7 years we miss each other just after a few days separated, snd always good to be together and also travel together. I want to grow old with somebody, and not start the dating games one more time. Every relationship have its phases, and I believe if you getting past the first 5 years, then 7, there is hope. Maybe Im positive since I have seen close family still in love at old age.
  18. Never had any problems arriving at BKK ever and I travel in and out frequently. If I suspect long que because of holidays, I used the Limousin vip service 1200 baht, but most of the time not much difference really from the other passengers. Still had to waith for the luggage. Seriously we do not know how this turn out yet, but my best guess I will buy my 300 ticket online before I arrive, not through a kiosk after landing. "A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel. A realist sees a freight train. The train drivers sees three idiots standing on the tracks"
  19. I do not believe that kind of level insurance they have in mind, if any, suits me. Never travelled a day without insurance ever to any country, so for me, I just do not care. I look at the bigger picture when I choose to live here, not 300 bath tax when arrive and 700 when leaving, even it can be 5 times a year at most. This is not what I spend my energy on. I cant understand anyone can react to such small fee even we are aware of where the money is going. Most going to be administration a and for the kiosks (who is delivering the kiosks?) Website solutions etc. The government already pay for the hospitals.
  20. For every non schengen members it is mandatory with insurance throughout your whole stay. We know how much forum members enjoy discussion forced insurance here as well! So ?
  21. Hehe a truth with modifications ????
  22. It is a question! As said earlier I do not believe we did, but still would be an interesting debate.
