The Maldives Bans Israeli Passport Holders
Do you agree Russians should be able to travel free wherever they want? Just imagine Thailand ban russians for the war. I would think that would be great.

The Maldives Bans Israeli Passport Holders
How do you think Israel finely became a state? By asking nicely? Terorrism is and have been a tool when nothing else have worked.

it is a few weeks ago, and 0,6 % of their visitors have been Israelis, so this is merely an political statement after seeing the result of the war on Gaza.

and the interesting part is Russia, China And Usa who use their veto right to protect their partners. Maldives is a Sunni Islam state, so easy to understand their support for Gaza and Palestinians.

A Question For Retirees On A Retirement Visa Extension In Thailand
Nothing wrong with that as long I complying with the rules. No more than 180 days a year in Thailand. Everything I have transfered was savings.

Do we actually need to Retire?
The quality life you have (can have) in Scandinavia is priceless 😉

Do we actually need to Retire?
You had probably the best 18 years Thailand could give you, but for me who is 55 now, I will not gamble on the next 18 years. So therefore I will not leave my home country, I will rather establish a new company and make sure I will retire when I have to. I already got more than 15 years as a tourist, and 8 years living here permanently. Now I go back to less time in Thailand and more back home.

Do we actually need to Retire?
what does it really mean to him? He died, and Im sure he do not miss a thing. Brings us back to every day matters, and if you are not happy with what you doing today, do something about it! If I die today, I do not care, but my family will care, so better keep it going as long I can, and in the meantime, make sure everyday means something.

Another interesting question would be, "How many have something to return to?" What other options do you have than living in Thailand? Thats what Im trying to make sure, not become stuck in Thailand if some kind of Ragnarok happens in near future (new pendemic, war, economic crises), and not only for me, my wife to!

Do we actually need to Retire?
Depending of what you are doing of course. But for some work is a lifestyle, and gives great benefits and wealth combined with interesting and challenging days, it can be the drive to not be bored to death

A Question For Retirees On A Retirement Visa Extension In Thailand
Additionally tax the money you are tying up when you transfer from your origin. Right now I enjoy having a retirement visa, but will not live 6 months or more in Thailand, and because I do not trust the terms of staying being better by the years, I also make investments in Norway to live here as well. So by time we will choose where to stay when we get older. She also needs to live in Norway to obtain a Norwegian passport and earn the right for Norwegian pension, so that will be first priority for the next 5 years. The requirement for her to obtain a Norwegian passport is being married and living here all together for 7 years. So if we have been married 4 years and lived together in Norway the last 3 years, she can apply for her citizenship. There is not only the amount of money you have to tie up that is the bottleneck for me, it is the prosperity and predictability. I believe Thailand will make many changes in the next few years, and I expect it will not be on better terms, and therefore I will not be stuck here with larger investments and as well tax my money on the way back again, and have to restart from scratch if that time comes. I believe my money work better for me in Norway than Thailand Finely after semi retire at 47, I still feel the urge to do some work and Norway is a good place to do seasonal work for good pay

A Question For Retirees On A Retirement Visa Extension In Thailand
As long I have embassy verification as an option, I see no reason to transfer one year budget at once. Thats why I consequent refuse to pay taxes to this country, because there is no benefits at all when it comes to live here for us expats.

How many years in Thailand? May I ask where you live on your elderly days, and have it been a special woman involved in your life?

I'm not a Uk resident, and pay my taxes to Norway, where I'm part of the social security Folketrygden, and also have an affordable private health insurance connected to I will not give up. As well, I'm still enjoying working as a freelancer. My point was, if I am forced to pay taxes in Thailand, for no benefits in return! Number 5 gives me a very good reason to leave for good, because the single life in Thailand is not as good as some want it to be. But that is me, and my opinion. 1. The girls who are chasing foreigners, I'm not so interested in. 2. The so-called good girls are rather boring in my opinion and if you find a decent one, who is educated, no family burdens, adventurous, the chance she is a real gold digger, is quite high. I had enough one night stands and loose connections during my younger days, and I am quite happy to be in a solid relationship instead of chasing girls during my elderly days. I do not think any other Thai girl can replace my wife, simple as that. And unlike many here I still enjoy my country, have property, some work, and parents alive as well other family Im still socializing with

Beach recommendations
I was talking about if he thought Hua Hin was crowded 20 years ago, he obviously do not want to much developments around himself, and those beaches we visited during our motorbike trips, was floaded with garbage, especially during low season because of the wind and current drives garbage up on the beaces. Happens everywhere, but most beaches with some tourism being cleaned up realtiviely quick. Worst drawback is the beach fly season on that stretch, and jelly fish However, many nice palces if you have a nice balcony to wathc from and are a morning bird up to see the sunrises.

Beach recommendations
oh, Hua Hin was crowded 20 years ago, then, there is many more beaches all the way down to Chumphon with no people on, just garbage. Thats what you face when looking for more remote beaches.

I was bored out of my mind in Pattaya
For an troubled mind, just finding someone can add some extra load. Many have thought it was just that easy and burnt themselves. Not only one time. But thats pretty much how it went for me, we went backpacking together, and 8 months later, my third visit, we where a couple and we went and lived with her family for a month almost. That was my single best investment for future, getting to know her family and friends, and stay in her village.

I was bored out of my mind in Pattaya
all this sounds good, but without someone to share the experiences with? Most people (at least in my mind and in my social network) just want to have normal days home, and go holidays and adventures once and awhile for the contrasts sake. If you living in paradise, paradise becomes the normal!
